This thread is not speculating or mocking someone for their sexuality, it's saying we couldn't care less about it.

However, someone has started a thread about it!

Fraudornot · 08/08/2025 20:49

I hadn’t heard the rumour about her living with a women - so is she gay or not?

GargoylesofBeelzebub · 08/08/2025 20:59

It’s 10 years since the leader of the Conservative Party in Scotland ( Ruth Davidson ) and the Labour Party in Scotland ( Kezia Dugdale ) were both openly lesbian.

No one gave a fuck about their private lives then and certainly no one cares about Nicola’s now.

All the Scottish voters ever cared about was how good or otherwise they were at running our country. And in Sturgeon’s case, it was very much otherwise.

I think that was the thing that people were bothered about. Not that she is gay but the secrecy around it. No one would have given a shit.

Viviennemary · 08/08/2025 21:00

What does that even mean She sounds a bit confused.

CrystalSingerFan · 08/08/2025 21:04

@SionnachRuadh

"this pair ruled the SNP with a rod of iron for so long" Please tell me this phrase was:

  • not deliberate
  • just a metaphor
SionnachRuadh · 08/08/2025 21:06

At the same time as Ruth and Kezia, they also had that wee gay lad leading the Liberal Democrats (can't remember his name, can't be bothered to look it up) and, god help us, Patrick Harvie. Sturgeon was literally the only party leader pretending to be heterosexual.

There was zero risk involved, except the risk pertaining to people looking at this very strange partnership the Murrells had running the party. I can't remember a situation anywhere where the party leader and head of government is married to the ruling party's CEO. That's the kind of thing they would do in somewhere like Nicaragua.

Well shes said 'not binary' that would indicate bisexual, neither hetro nor homo!

JLou08 · 08/08/2025 21:19

What's the point of this thread? Genuine question. Things put on here are usually up for a debate, what is there to say about another person's sexuality?

RIPMTV · 08/08/2025 21:21

I couldn’t give a flying fuck about her sexuality.

Her sex is binary, though, and it’s a shame she didn’t woman the fuck up and stand up for our rights when she had the power to.

MaryGreenhill · 08/08/2025 21:22

Couldn't care less

Fragmentedbrain · 08/08/2025 21:23

Wonder why she campaigned to retain section 28 then 🤷🏻‍♀️

KassandraOfSparta · 08/08/2025 21:25

There's a lot to say about someone who got married in 2010 to the man who was the CEO of her party. This pair were in the two most senior positions in the Scottish government for a decade.

We are also supposed to believe that despite being so happily married to the lovely Peter, Ms Sturgeon did not know that he had bought a campervan, which was parked on his mother's drive. He is accused of embezzling funds, yet despite being married to him, living in the same house and working in the same organisation, Ms Sturgeon knew nothing about it.

She has been forced to "come clean" about her sexuality because that gives her an out about why she didn't know what her ex was up to. She's stitched Peter up like a kipper.

But the point is that NS has [belatedly] made a thing about her sexuality, and we're responding not to her sexuality per se, but her use of it in how she portrayed herself to the electorate. And how she is now portraying herself to the book-buying public...
That's what there is to say about it.

That, and who is that French politician, but that's just meGrin

100%.

MarieDeGournay · 08/08/2025 21:31

And to set the record straight [sic]: I was in a long-term relationship with Michel de Montagne, I did not have sex with Marie de Medici, but it would have been just fine if I had😁

Wasn't it someone from the French embassy or consulate? That's at least the rumour that goes around over here at the West coast.

Meadowfinch · 08/08/2025 21:32

Christ, is she that desperate for publicity. How sad !

ArabellaScott · 08/08/2025 21:33

Viviennemary · 08/08/2025 21:00

Absolutely. Nobody's sexuality is 'binary', surely? Coy nonsense.

WitchyWitcherson · 08/08/2025 21:35

Sexuality isn't binary anyway, is it? Attracted to men, attracted to women or attracted to both? That's three options there!

ArabellaScott · 08/08/2025 21:36

catmothertes1 · 08/08/2025 20:49

However, someone has started a thread about it!

She's promoted it in a newspaper interview, it's not like it's a state secret.

And that interview is part of the marketing she's doing to sell her book.

We are still paying this woman £80k a year, a wee reminder, to do absolutely fuck all except raise her eyebrow at John Swinney occasionally.

WitchyWitcherson · 08/08/2025 21:36

WitchyWitcherson · 08/08/2025 21:35

Sexuality isn't binary anyway, is it? Attracted to men, attracted to women or attracted to both? That's three options there!

And everyone is only one of those options so technically sexuality is singular? Also not binary!
