Prolapse OP denied whilst men are given plastic surgery for a mental illness

I’m 50. My bladder is hanging at my vaginal entrance. I can barely function. And I’m told my symptoms of extreme discomfort, Bach ache, bag ache, tingling, urinary incontinence, urgency, and no relief from needing the loo cant possibly be to do with the entire entrance of my vagina being blocked by a bulge frok my bladder. I can’t work, I can’t reliably walk my dog, I can’t even spend an hour cleaning without paying the price. Meanwhile mentally ill men are having HRT, and bottom surgery because they ‘feel’ uncomfortable.

Im fucking raging.

Go private: maybe take out an interest free credit card or loan? Probably worth the money. This country is a disgrace I don’t know why we bother paying our ridiculously high taxes.

Thank you for the advice but I’m not eligible for a 100000 personal loan

And my ‘I hate men’ comment was aimed at yet again being asked to justify being upset and uncomfortable to my supposed ‘partner’

I’ll await him feeling likd a dildo is hanging out of his arse ever day and then be short with him and demand he explains why he’s uncomfortable.,

Why are you with him?

Typicalwave · 08/08/2025 21:39

Anchorage56 · 08/08/2025 21:32

Why are you with him?

Would you be able to find a where else to live with two children, no family , and Statutory sick pay, no savings, minimum wage job and the imminent threat of losing your job ? If the answer is ‘yes’ then you are a better human than me

And perhaps she was expecting him to behave like a partner rather than a sulking brat because he can't get his leg over?

I hear you OP. Rant away Flowers

It's a disgrace those of us living with these conditions are so overlooked. If I'd had daughters I would be telling them not to have children after what I've been through. The physical and emotional impact is real.

As for the "carry on living your life" with a severe prolapse comment upthread, that poster's "friend" might change her tune if she was living in an above ground floor HA flat (stairs only access) with highly competitive onstreet parking to carry all and sundry to do with kids and work back and forth every day.

I couldn’t agree more. I deeply regret having children and I done being told it makes me an awful woman fof feeling that way. They have been used as weapons, I’ve been left destitute trying to do my best gif them and now, just as a small light at either end of the tunnel appears my organs drop out of my cunt. Frankly I’m done and incredibly glad to hear my daughter tell me she doesn’t want children - long may her resolve continue: she’ll have a far better chance at a life.

Hi OP, so sorry to hear this. You can get a pessary from your GP. There is a type you can put in and out yourself and it may help your symptoms while you get something else sorted.

The physio clearly didnt think it was minor so i would mention that in your complaint .

No, I cannot get a pessary from my GP in my area. And I’m not a candidate snyway.

Just Googled as I didn't believe trans women could get gender surgery on the NHS. Turns out you can and this seems to be standard treatment for those who want it.

Kendodd · 08/08/2025 22:21

Oh, and Google predicted questions. I asked - can trans women get... first suggestion was - pregnant.
Really?
People are googling to ask if trans women can get pregnant???

Yes. Men absoloutly can have bottom surgery…years before women suffering all sorts of issues or even - gasp - wanting to have their uterus removed (inked they say theyre a man trapped in a woman’s body) - and they generally csn have it much quicker than women get treated for actual real material biological issues with real symptoms .

Welcome to the Twilight Zone

Also, my adult child is ‘trans’ - it’s a hoot

Oh, and what exactly will happen to them if the don't get trans surgery? What great harm will they come to?

I have no advice, no experience of this, but think you're right to vent as it sounds like you've been fobbed off.
I'd be annoyed too when NHS time and money is spent on others having unnecessary procedures due to mental health delusions conditions.

FumingTRex · 08/08/2025 22:30

Who says you arent a candidate for a pessary? I would go back to your GP and push they can just write a prescription for it. Also go back to physio and ask them.

I have PCOS and other hormonal issues ,.one of the symptoms is male pattern hirsutism, my doctor asked if I'd considered laser a while back after I explained how much it was affecting me. I optimistically said yes but it's very expensive a referral would be great, she then said oh no you'd have to fund privately. I asked if that would be the case if I was biologically male and identified as a woman, rather than a biological woman with a medical condition she said she didn't want to discuss politics.

My mum has this. Bladder is out of vagina most days. They try another Pessary, but same thing happen. She is in so much pain. Waiting list for operation - 7 years. 7 years with her bladder hanging out. I’m beyond angry. I hope you are ok OP,I’ve seen how much pain it causes her xx

You are pointing the blame at a very small minority.

My friend works full time as a midwife, has two under 2 with a severe prolapse. You can still live your life.

Ffs🙄

I can’t imagine how you’re feeling; my advice would be to
Recontact PALs

If you can, get a private GP appointment (£50-250), depending on area/surgery etc. They can also refer. Above this is a private consultation, that you can then take back to the NHS.

If you are not already doing, ensure you are writing a comprehensive pain management, discomfort and limitation log. Whilst this takes time it’s evidence to show at appointments how this is affecting your life. Make sure they annotate this on system one/records that they have seen and discussed this.
If your situation goes on longer than what is deemed reasonable (I know you feel you are past this), it’s a great way to show negligence.

In regards to other surgical procedures, sadly this is the system. The healthcare professionals doing those procedures are unlikely to be the ones able to assist you and their procedure is not likely to impact on your waiting time. I know this is super frustrating, but reality. I wouldn’t want a orthopaedic surgeon doing neuro surgery on me let’s put it that way.

SEVEN YEARS??? 😲

Oh dear god this doesn't bode well. I've already been through this pantomime, had my first surgery several years ago now. Now I have a rectal prolapse (not sure which was more fun, uterus hanging out of my fanjo or the insides of my rectum hanging out of my arse. I suppose at least I didn't have constant fecal incontinence first time around 🙄). Been on the waiting list for see a consultant since January. Not even a referral to physio in the mean time. No scan to assess severity. Nothing. Turned down for PIP too (that will delight some people) so diddly squat chance of paying privately (on top of longterm trauma focussed counselling and physio for leg injuries I'm already paying for because not available on nhs).

Every time I overlift anything I shit myself.

Living my life to the full, people! <Sarcasm>

If someone hates men including the man she is with then it's an obvious question. But she has explained she cant leave him.

She’s been on a theatre waiting list for 7 years?

I may as well off myself now. No security. No job soon. No life.
