Prolapse OP denied whilst men are given plastic surgery for a mental illness

I’m 50. My bladder is hanging at my vaginal entrance. I can barely function. And I’m told my symptoms of extreme discomfort, Bach ache, bag ache, tingling, urinary incontinence, urgency, and no relief from needing the loo cant possibly be to do with the entire entrance of my vagina being blocked by a bulge frok my bladder. I can’t work, I can’t reliably walk my dog, I can’t even spend an hour cleaning without paying the price. Meanwhile mentally ill men are having HRT, and bottom surgery because they ‘feel’ uncomfortable.

Im fucking raging.

You are pointing the blame at a very small minority.

My friend works full time as a midwife, has two under 2 with a severe prolapse. You can still live your life.

Holy shit. You actually walk around in the world thinking it’s OK to say something like this? I I hope it doesn’t cause you too many relationship issues.

Oh op @Typicalwave I totally understand your anger.
Can I ask what stage prolapse you have? I have a stage 3 bladder prolapse and I have been told that the waiting list to see a gynae is a year long so I will have to sit tight until then

Thank you for the advice but I’m not eligible for a 100000 personal loan

I looked up the cost of going private when I was looking to be waiting 18 months and it was about £10,000. My op came through quickly so I didn't follow it up, but I might well have paid that!

Not read the whole thread but try the APOPS Fb group. Association for Pelvic Organ Prolapse Support.

It’s American, though with some knowledgeable UK posters who are able to suggest ways of getting some short term improvements as well as support pre and post op.

Hey @Typicalwave . I haven't got anything useful to add to the thread but I'm really sorry you are going through this shit. Keep ranting if helpful. I'm enjoying your rants! 😁

Also I hope you can have a look at some of the suggestions posted. I know they may or may not be right for your situation but I've quietly got my fingers crossed that something will be helpful.

Anyway, best of luck. Men have no fuckin idea.

(Apologies nice men out there, but you don't!)

No. I’m not on a waiting list. NHS female consultant told me my symptoms are nothing to do with a ‘barely grade 1’ bladder prolapse (that is conpletely blocking my vagina just 1 bare finfer tip deep’ and do I’m not even a candidate for a prssary.

Im
on day 2 of feeling like I’m at yhd pushing stage of labour, Cobstantly needing yhd loo, the loo brings no relief, pain. And all of this happens every single time I far to be up on my feet for any length of time.

Waiting list is verboten for me. I’ve been told to go away and ask my Gp to explore other ‘conditions’

Insist that your GP refers you to someone else. Sometimes women can be worse to other women than men are. I had a female Dr tell me she wouldn't ok a cesarian - long and boring story. When I had damaged to my bowel from the extended episiotomy the male consultant - who had to sort that out - was shocked.
You know how bad your symptoms are. Sometimes we have to get assertive and tell them they're wrong.
