Just now I fired up the PC and the first advert that appeared was in a Scandinavian language.

How the hell does it know we've been rewatching The Bridge? I might understand if we were streaming episodes, as it would be the same IP address, but we've been watching DVDs

I've spent all day looking for a missing Croc if anyone sees it let me know.

I was looking at that 'let the war begin' thread over weekend, but today it just seemed to have too many words, most of them daft, so I closed it down and now it has 123 new posts since mid-day.

Is there any point reading any of them?

Have you got Alexa on? Could the TV be connected to the internet & uploading info on what you've been watching on dvd?

My internet currently thinks I'm in New Jersey, and is showing me adverts for political candidates promising to clean up corruption.

This seems very off brand for New Jersey. If I'm going to watch NJ politicians, I want them to show off their collection of gold bars and introduce me to their good friend Fat Tony from the union pension fund.

We don't have Alexa or a smart TV.

We try to keep our devices as dumb as possible

I wouldn't mind an expensive designer handbag Fuzzy! I keep getting charity adverts, probably because I was reading something about the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

I'm just glad I'm one of those people who never fall for adverts.

Oh bless you don't be too self conscious, the people posing as hedgehogs, beetles, puffins, magpies, pirate, androids, sheds, foxes, dragons, lions, etc will not bat an eyelid, if you might be a bit “odd”
