How many “cis” male members of staff do you suppose would approach teenage girls in the lingerie department?

For the fourth or fifth time, a MALE was in a section he was not even supposed to be in, accosted a young girl to discuss HER UNDERWEAR. And then fled out of GUILT when he saw the mother.

That is all kinds of fucked up and wrong. A normal, stable person does not need this explained...

I haven't read the whole thread but that is not what it says in the original article.

Have I missed something?

yes, I recommend you read the thread. All of it and not a skim as others have done and failed to see the information that they have then repeatedly asked for or been told was wrong.

NHSFifeSadTimes · 06/08/2025 18:38

Why did he run off when the mother approached? Guilt that he knew he was probably doing something he shouldn’t have been doing.

Did he say the mother that he was terribly sorry that there has been a misunderstanding and I will fetch one of my managers now? No.

My conspiracy theory is that it got turbo-charged by the Trump team who needs more female votes. To do that the had to create a worse thing than a man who either grabs pussies or boasts about it.

All this drama has now led to Trump being a “protector” of women’s rights.

Trump didn't cause males entering female spaces in the US, or in the UK, or in Canada or in Australia in NZ, so I don't know what point you're trying to make. Many of us have been fighting trans ideology and transwomen in female spaces long before 2016 when Trump was even an idea to first run for President. He has less than zero to do with any of this.

RedToothBrush · 06/08/2025 18:46

Why would anyone at M&S Ayr be commenting to India???

They REALLY shouldn't be doing that for all manner of reasons. If, of course, what India actually says is true.

Note that India then uses it as an attempt to try and discredit the mother 'because everyone had their clothes on'.

Sigh.

We really need some safeguarding courses in the UK don't we??

M&S staff don’t approach customers to offer help so why would he be offering to help a teenager in the bra section. That’s awful for her. My DP avoids going into the lingerie department with me precisely because he doesn’t want the other women there to feel uncomfortable. That’s respectful behaviour. There is no need for any male to be there, and especially not talking to teenagers.

This is absolute disingenuous nonsense, I have shopped for nursing bras in M&S multiple times and always been approached by a member of staff to see if I need help. And-shock horror, sometimes there are even men in the lingerie department!!
Im not saying this was appropriate but the hysterical reaction and the twisting of facts to what was almost certainly an innocent retail interaction is awful.

It makes me laugh that 'gender critical' activists continue to pretend that they're not an eliminationist movement when they're trying to get a trans woman sacked from her job for doing her job. As I have said for many years, it's all about the seething lizard-brain hate.

It's no different from those fine individuals who don't like to be around black people or someone they see as gay. At no point was it about 'legitimate concerns', just hate, raw seething hate.

Getting a male predator sacked for BREAKING THE RULES OF HIS JOB (approaching people) is not 'eliminating' anyone. You, are eliminating female only boundaries. Your seething hatred of females is all too clear.

Willoughby is yet another who has not read what was said to have happened but has tried to distract by misdirection and discredit using falsity.

It is bizarre that anyone from M&S 'spoke' to Willoughby. Either way, another set of falsehoods.

I see. So, M&S have a history of allowing male people to work in the bra department. Thank you for confirming that this was not an isolated incident.

Actually, what is 'awful' is any poster who attempts to excuse a male person approaching a teenaged girl while she is in the bra department.

It is amazing how many people want to ignore the core issue, an adult male approaching an apparently unaccompanied child (with no excuse or reason for doing so).

Doing it while surrounded by underwear displays increases the creepiness. But the way the gender issue is being used to excuse or camouflage or distract from the weirdness, indeed, the way it is being used to suggest that the targetted child was at some way at fault for not being a willing accessory, is very disturbing.

Lun82 · 06/08/2025 14:12

I haven't seen anything that indicates that the employee asked her about her bra size. Where did you see that? Yes it would be very awkward and frowned on for a teenage girl to be asked about her bra size by a man, but this employee wasn't doing bra fittings and like I said we have no evidence that the asked about bra size. There's plenty of potential ways to offer help which are none product specific. "Do you need any help?" is a pretty standard question from a retail worker, especially if a customer was looking a bit lost.

"Do you need any help?" is a pretty standard question from a retail worker, especially if a customer was looking a bit lost.

Again, he is not allowed to ask a customer if they need help. And the girl was browsing in the racks, she wasn't 'looking lost'. You're desperate to defend this filthy male predator and I wish I knew why.

I think you are going to have to post it at the top of every page now. Because even though you have now hand fed those posters the information to correct their wrong assumptions, they will continue to deny it, or deny that it is a problem.

Poor girl and mum, not on, is it, for a man to approach a girl then scarper when her mum appears, so creepy. Shudder.

You've just finished tidying up in one department, you're on you way to do another job and you see a customer that looks a bit lost? I worked in retail banking for a long time, if I saw a customer looking around when I was between appointments I'd check if they needed help.

  1. It is against the rules for them to approach customers.
  2. She wasn't 'lost', she was browsing the ACTUAL BRA SECTION, right in front of them!

If staff are accessing CCTV and leaking that personal data M&S HQ needs to start sacking managers ........

And if the mum has asked for the data M&S will end up having to hand it over.

Yep.

The new "the Supreme Court is rigged".
The new "the Cass Report is biased"
The new "its just like being gay"
The new "just trying to pee"
The new "you people don't know any trans people and if you did you wouldn't..."

We should just add it to The Script Bingo Card now.

Of the multiple times you were shopping in the underwear department how many times had a male member of staff offered to help you locate a bra or other undergarment without you or anyone with you asking for help?
