How many “cis” male members of staff do you suppose would approach teenage girls in the lingerie department?

That post is really, really worrying especially this part

.. we're talking about a 14 year old girl who is fully responsible for her actions ..

This reads like the sort of reasoning that a pedophile would use to justify their abuse.

Or PIE who said that they wanted to reduce the age of consent to age 4?

Lun82 · 05/08/2025 23:15

It's an underwear section, not a changing room or a single sex space. Even if (again we have no proof if anything about this employee) they were trans, they did nothing wrong.

For the fourth or fifth time, a MALE was in a section he was not even supposed to be in, accosted a young girl to discuss HER UNDERWEAR. And then fled out of GUILT when he saw the mother.

That is all kinds of fucked up and wrong. A normal, stable person does not need this explained...

Speaking of fucked up reactions:

This is a screenshot of a tweet from a male person declaring that a child must be a bigot if they were upset. And declares that it is creepy and wrong to safeguard a 14 year old girl.

And the tweeter of that statement wanted to be a candidate for an electorate in Scotland.

Bingo

Homophobia on display with that man

It's the employees job to ask customers if they need help. It's what they are paid to do. She was with her mother. They were asked if they needed help. The end.

No, it is NOT the job of employees to approach customers. M&S have confirmed this. He acted OUTSIDE his job.

He approached the girl who he THOUGHT WAS ON HER OWN. The mother was hidden by a partition. When she moved slightly and he saw her, he FLED!

RedToothBrush · 06/08/2025 17:57

How would we feel if Molly Sparkles worked at M&S and decided to approach someone in the Lingerie Department because after all 14 year old girls are responsible for their own actions...

...this is kinda the trouble.

We'd have a problem if it was a man, and we'd have a problem if it was a transwoman declaring on the internet that 14 year old shouldn't be safeguarded.

So how do we go about working out which males aren't Pete the Plumber or Molly Nipples?

Maybe staying away from 14 year old girls in the lingerie department IS the solution?

I mean seriously.

Why do people think virtue signalling cancels out poor boundaries on behalf of your children?

It is very Abrahamic
Seeing the child as a tool to be used.

NeverOneBiscuit · 06/08/2025 17:59

Absolutely these blokes love ‘getting away with it.’ Part of the fetish, the misogyny, the thrill, the power trip. Men dressed as women always look like men in real life (the odd heavily filtered selfie might temporarily fool some people).

They know nobody’s fooled, but due to the nonsense of the past 10 years or so they also know most people will pretend to think they are women. It’s like people pretending to be surprised that the pantomime dame is actually a male.

It’s state/societal misogyny in plain sight. Men like the airport dilator would never have a platform without the trans cloak of magic. It’s all smoke and mirrors. That’s why Lun82 etc plop onto these threads, as we see through the bullshit & call it what it is.

ThatBlackCat · 06/08/2025 18:00

Lun82 · 05/08/2025 23:18

Once again there is no proof that this employee was trans. They did nothing inappropriate. Sing customers if they need help is their job.

No one gives a hoot if he were trans or not. HE IS A MALE!! That is the ONLY point that is relevant.

As I've already said, everything he did was wrong, against his job description, was inappropriate and predatory.

At NO STAGE SHOULD ANY MALE regardless of if he's in a suit, or in a dress, APPROACH A YOUNG GIRL AND TALK TO HER ABOUT UNDERWEAR.

NHSFifeSadTimes · 06/08/2025 18:01

Lun82 · 06/08/2025 15:16

What safeguarding concerns are you thinking about? This was a public shop floor, not a sensitive single sex area. There wasn't any risk of this employee being alone with her. The original complaint by the mother says that it was a polite offer of help, there wasn't any inappropriate language or contact.

Gosh so many, if you have received any safe guarding training then you will be aware of strict protocol boundaries when dealing with children, adolescents and vulnerable people.

Most safeguarding leads would read this and think FFS what did he think he was doing with a young adolescent who at the time did not have her mum near here. Just think of the potential complaints/allegations … inappropriate touching, lingering of hand, use of language, potential grooming etc. It doesn’t matter if it was on the shop floor and it’s open plan, the thing was that there wasn’t another adult there, he was in effect alone with a teenage adolescent. The bra section isn’t a buzz with people normally, it’s not like going to the bakery section of the store.

ThatBlackCat · 06/08/2025 18:02

Lun82 · 05/08/2025 23:22

What do you mean it's irrelevant? The discussion in this thread is all about how wrong it is for a male employee to ask a teenage girl if they need any help. The employee could easily have been female.

Ummm...... the employee was MALE!

viques · 06/08/2025 18:02

RedToothBrush · 06/08/2025 17:45

And yes it was the one I was thinking of who dressed up like a school girl at Hogwarts.

https://x.com/Sorelle_Arduino/status/1914225795389677850

Wow,I bet sourcing those shoes on the internet was a job and a half. Who knew Mary Jane shoes came in an adult 12!

Here’s a thought, is it some sort of esoteric trans law that if you are a TIM you aren’t allowed to have a full length mirror in your home? I am beginning to think it is.

NHSFifeSadTimes · 06/08/2025 18:03

Child protection is important and takes precedence over adults. I sincerely hope that is something we all agree on.

KnottyAuty · 06/08/2025 18:05

JKR had a brilliant skirt related comment at the time:

So vulnerable. So oppressed. So determined to break the law by continuing to invade women's spaces. And being cheered on by Maggie Chapman MSP of the Scottish Greens, who is one of our most enthusiastic anti-women legislators.

Mind you, the worst crime here is that skirt.”

No we don't. The response from M&s didn't confirm that

You think that A) women don't have eyeballs in our head and don't know a male from a female and that B) the woman and daughter are LYING?!??

How about you BELIEVE the daughter (who is so upset she won't return to M&S apparently) and mother, who KNOW what a male is, like the rest of civilisation?

KnottyAuty · 06/08/2025 18:05

That was in reply to @viques

Jimmy Savile, Stephen Ireland (Surrey Pride) - they were good at hiding in plain site.

Clearly it seems there are those who feel 14year olds are fair game, and need to stand up for themselves instead of being protected by adults. Sickening behaviour and reaction by some. It’s is all about the poor adults as opposed to the child.

ThatCyanCat · 06/08/2025 18:15

The risk/reward here is child safety against an adult's self image. How the fuck have we reached a point where anyone thinks it's complicated?

ThatBlackCat · 06/08/2025 18:15

Lun82 · 05/08/2025 23:43

Everyone remembers their first embarrassing bra shopping trip, perhaps M&S need a "don't offer proactive help with underwear shopping policy. The issue here is the assumption that this employee was trans, and the accusation that they were somehow doing something wrong by offering help. They weren't, there were doing their job. Just like any other retail worker.

Again, no one gives a flying f'ck if he was trans. He was a MALE! That is the only issue. Him being trans doesn't make what he did ok, if that's what you think.

Yet again, it is AGAINST THEIR RULES to go up to customers unrequested. Rule number ONE he broke and did the wrong thing.
And again, a FEMALE worker should approach a young girl. Not a male worker.
If you wouldn't excuse a male accosting a little girl to talk about underwear in the street, why would you excuse it in a store where the workers ARE NOT ALLOWED TO APPROACH CUSTOMERS?

RedToothBrush · 06/08/2025 18:18

Sophie Molly AT SophieMolly_OFF
That trans woman will now likely be scared to go back to work. And what are M&S going to do about it. Pander more to the crybully transphobes. An absolute disgrace!!

Sigh.

Maybe this is what happens when, because you are a member of a sacred caste, no one ever pushes back against your opinions

Molly needs quite a few people to clearly and repeatedly tell them - what you are saying is neither correct nor acceptable.

ThatBlackCat · 06/08/2025 18:22

Lun82 · 05/08/2025 23:52

This is an echo chamber, if I can make it less of a one that's a good thing. Do I sympathise with a mother looking out for her daughter? Yes. Are creepy men hitting on teenage girls a problem, absolutely yes. This is not that. This is a retail worker asking a customer if they needed help, that's their job and they did nothing wrong.

Again, he is NOT ALLOWED TO APPROACH CUSTOMERS AND ASK IF THEY NEED HELP!

He did something wrong there, right off the bat!

Only a creepy man would do that, he broke the rules of his employment, and accosted a girl to talk about her underwear and FLED when mum appeared! Don't play games, we all know damn well that he knew he was doing the wrong thing! He's a predator!

RedToothBrush · 06/08/2025 18:24

Some of the 'sane' stuff that the delightful Sparkles is retweeting thats obviously going to make M&S think 'ooo I should take this seriously'.

I'm also noting the typo at the end of one of these that REALLY isn't helping the look here. It seems almost freudian...

(Molly doesn't even like M&S because of his Omnicause Views btw).

We haven't got any confirmation that this employee was trans. What needs? She was looking around the shop and an employee asked if she needed help, she said no thanks, that's it, hat's all that happened. This isn't a single sex space or service, it's just a section of a shop floor.

WHO CARES IF THEY WERE TRANS!!!!!!???? Why do you think that would make a rats ass bit of difference??

He is a MALE!! That's the only point that matters.

He approached a child, breaking the RULES OF HIS EMPLOYMENT. He's a predator! He FLED the moment he saw mum, proving he KNEW he was doing the wrong thing!

RapidOnsetGenderCritic · 06/08/2025 18:32

Lun82 · 06/08/2025 14:35

How about something as straightforward as "Do you need any help", "yes I'm looking for a bra", "Bras are over there," "thanks". or more likely with an embarrassed teen girl "do you need any help" "no thanks" "okay". M&S said in their response that colleagues work all across the store, they aren't hired for our attached to a particular department.

"Bras are over there" 😂

Have you ever seen an M&S lingerie section? They are full of underwear, and there are bras in all directions except up and down. The only "help" this guy could give would have involved asking inappropriate very personal questions of a 14 year old girl navigating choosing a bra, as it happens for the very first time. If he knew what he was doing, he's a pervert. If he didn't know what he was doing, he hasn't got the interpersonal skills for a customer facing role.
