All women welcome, pull up a pygmy hog, the bargerbil will serve you a drink, the flying squirrels will bring you something to read and the goats will do...I'm not entirely sure.

There may be more than the usual amount of chaos as we transition to the new thread.

My family of hedgehogs love card games, play at every get together.

Bannedontherun · 21/07/2025 21:04

Got to the end of that fife thread. Well for now anyway.

i got well huffy at someone though. Can i have a pint of gin so i can say fuck of, fuck of oh will you fuck off you twat in to said gin.

I will then drink it.

NeedMoreTinfoil · 21/07/2025 21:28

This is my first, very tentative, foray into the Bluestocking, where I ask at the bar ever so politely for two glasses of gin, one with tonic and the other neat to wash my eyeballs because....
@MarieDeGournay I had hoped to find you some female figures with the correct scale but... you are right .. apart from some dowdy older ladies (based on me, probably), it's mainly all a bit ick. I will regard model train enthusiasts with more caution from now on, I had NO idea. Please don't be deterred from completing your project. I absolutely love miniatures and can't wait to see your finished diorama.

There are some nice Edwardian and some less objectionable Young Lady figures on Gaugemaster, but their Ladies of the Night is just nope...😟
I settle down to sip my G&T and hope I don't get mixed up with the eyeball cleanser.

FuzzyPuffling · 21/07/2025 21:30

Hello NeedMoreTinfoil. The gerbils are bringing your gin now.
I am going nowhere near small model women. Fill the Bluestocking with cuddly animals. La la la la laaaaa.

ErrolTheDragon · 21/07/2025 21:34

Welcome Tinfoil, sounds like you’ve already taken one for the team. Definitely deserve the gins.

NeedMoreTinfoil · 21/07/2025 21:45

Thank you for the welcome @FuzzyPuffling and @ErrolTheDragon - the gin is very refreshing. and the ambience very pleasant. Agree re cuddly animals.

I love card games and used to play them a lot with DH1 but sadly DH2 was not brought up that way so doesn’t know any. Although he cooperates if I try and teach him his heart clearly isn’t in it and he’s basically being polite which spoils the enjoyment. My DGC don’t play either. Sigh.

I taught DH cribbage on honeymoon and he loved it. We then bought a board, though it’s easy to score on paper. We have never played it again. Second anniversary in six weeks…

Gins as requested.

The gerbils sent out Gobbet, so-called because she’s just a morsel of a gerbil, and sits politely on the table without the need for legs. She is extraordinarily well-dressed to welcome your loveliness.

EdithStourton · 21/07/2025 22:18

Welcome, tinfoil. It sounds as though you deserve both of those gins, and then some more.

That gerbil/bar inter-relationship makes it look as if someone has been shopping at Escher and Escher again.

We played a LOT of UNO here when the DC were younger. Some truly savage rounds. I think we've still got the cards, but they haven't been out for a while.

Hello tinfoil, welcome, doubly welcome because thank you for looking for female figures for the model Bluestocking!

Sorry to have opened your eyes to the awful world of model railway erotica. Whoda thunk, eh? railway modellers seem so inoffensive and bland. When I used to read railway modelling magazines, I was always amused at how the blokes describing their elaborate layouts said things like having to 'negotiate with management' about taking over the attic etc.

I cling to the belief that it's only a nasty minority who want Ladies of the Night etc in their layouts, the rest of them are decent chaps too absorbed by their hobby to be up to no goodSmile

I'll post photos of the model Bluestocking shortly, it's 99% finished.

I shouldn't be up so late, its a big day at the Tribunal tomorrow - but I wonder if K Searle is actually going to show up? I'd be inclined to do a runner😦

G'night all, and may the dream gerbils bring you sweet ones.

And Flowers💙Flowers to dear Swash, as always x

Where are my priorities? I had an ‘urgent’ medical appointment this afternoon. It’s already been delayed once.

When I had a telephone call an hour ago cancelling it, my first thought was, “Oh, good, I won’t need to miss any of today’s witness.”

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 22/07/2025 11:35

If you had some of the risqué Hornsby figures, @MarieDeGournay, could you fashion teeny tiny outfits from Fimo clay or even fabric scraps?

I was thinking that. But on second thoughts I wouldn’t want to reward companies who make/stock these models rather than normally dressed women.

FuzzyPuffling · 22/07/2025 12:08

I'm willing to wager there's no teeny weeny puffins.

That is a very fair point, @ErrolTheDragon. Perhaps we need to petition Hornby to change their sexist models.

I'm hosting a meeting for a bunch of colleagues today and tomorrow, off to have dinner with them all in 30 minutes, I have not been able to read a single post since about 9 am this morning. Could someone please summarize for me what happened today, I'd be ever so grateful.

lcakethereforeIam · 22/07/2025 19:08

When I was on holiday last week on a wet day we visited an automobile museum. It had a load of Nuffield tractors. I wasn't familiar with that brand. Lots were the really old ones with no cab or roll bars. Also, did you know about the link between the Land Rover and Red Wharf Bay? I didn't.

There was a misgendering of Dr Upton by KS!

That's a possibility, as I'm working in O scale, not the teeny OO scale - O scale seems to be more or less the side of 'toy soldiers', the plastic ones that were on their own little stands.
Some of the poses might be more of a challenge than the nudity - I suppose we could be having a women's health/self-examination session at the Bluestocking?😁
Errol is right about not giving rewarding the companies who make/sell them. I bought two of the 'decent' female railway workers even though they may not be perfect for the Bluestocking, because I wanted to show that somebody wanted them!

Model puffins? you never know, Fuzzy. Because the more serious railway layouts are huge, they incorporate a lot of surrounding landscape, and I can imaging a coastal line with cliffs and puffins in the background..

Cake, don't tantalise us like that! what IS the link between the Land Rover and Red Wharf Bay?

Weeeeeellllllllllll....

Long long delay at beginning of session, not sure what they were discussing but there is a lot to talk about!

I can't remember much about Jane Russell questions to Kate Searles - predictably going through emails, chronology etc to get her retaliation in first before it was Naomi's turn.

She said that DrU had always been open about being trans, right from the beginning.

NC started her much-anticipated x-examining of Kate Searles not by angrily waving copies of the notorious 'SP is a witch, let's just get on with burning her right away' emails to 20 colleagues,[which is what I'd probably do!] but by a slow, plodding trawl through the email chain to see what was sent by whom first, and to whom.
I think she was showing that the dates and recipients had been changed in some cases to hide the actual sequence of events, to make Fife look less culpable - 'we only said let's burn the witch after an email discussion of how horrid she is, so it was procedurally correct'Smile
I think she also IDed some emails that had not been released, as they should have been, for the Feb session of the tribunal.

Having started rather un-fire-work-y, she then got on to the hard stuff: who told DU he could use the women's CR, did it occur to KS that they were prioritising one man over 200 women users etc etc.
KS seems to have started out quite combative, but then seemed a bit rattled by being asked by NC about the various categories of women who might have a very serious need for single-sex spaces, and it was made v obvious that KS had never thought about SP at all.

KS stated that DrU had every right to use the female changing room as he is a woman, and that equality legislation gives him that right, so she clearly isn't backing down on anything. Note: DrU did not have a GRC, so the EA didn't apply to him.

KS started off all Beth this and she that, but, as has happened with all Fife's witnesses, she slipped up and referred to DrU as 'he' at least once.

I can't recall any thing else - what have I missed, anybody?

lcakethereforeIam · 22/07/2025 21:08

The man who devised it was at RWB, i think with his brother and he drew his first sketch of what became the Land Rover in the sand there. The picture I posted up thread is an aerial view of a meeting of LR enthusiasts there on its 70th anniversary. They 'drew' that with their LRs.

And Jaguar originated in Blackpool...like the Cure.
