All women welcome, pull up a pygmy hog, the bargerbil will serve you a drink, the flying squirrels will bring you something to read and the goats will do...I'm not entirely sure.

There may be more than the usual amount of chaos as we transition to the new thread.

Oooh, I'm not particularly fussed about the house, actually the house I grew up in would do, especially if my mum were still around to make it lovely and cosy and have food and drink for anyone who wanders in at hand at all times, but I need a big garden and when I say big I mean huge. I need space for my veg beds, the orchard, the soft fruit area (with a cage), a meadow, a stream or a pond, space for chickens and maybe a few goats or sheep, some out buildings for a fermentarium, a mushroomery, a proper deep basement for storing stuff at low temperature (also for cider barrels) and dp would like a woodland.

I think that qualifies as a small holding at the very least

Yeah, it probably does Smile

That's a very imposing residence you have there, Boily!

Well... It has to house my pet lion as well, and her pet walrus!

It's getting very crowded!

I may move into the village!

You can share with me as long as you don't identify as either woodworm or death watch beetle.

Magpiecomplex · 07/08/2025 21:26

Is it time to get moving to a new thread?

DeanElderberry · 07/08/2025 21:26

I'd just like my house and garden to be self cleaning.

I was weeding today and startled a vole. Tiny little fat thing but very very speedy when alarmed.

MarieDeGournay · 07/08/2025 21:45

Bannedontherun · 07/08/2025 21:05

Will you marry Marie I’ve miniature things.

Well you had me at 'miniature things', Banned, but then you clarified that you love miniature things not that you have miniature things so.. sorry, it's not you, it's meGrin

Last night I was having so much fun with my fellow Stockingers that I forgot to do the laundry, and forgot to order my repeat prescription😦so I'm signing off for a bit to do some practical things.

Would it be OK if I reposted Swash's room on the new thread, because she might not see it on this one?
I love all your houses, and wish I could make models of them all - in fact a scale model of the whole village! I really wish I could do that😞

Magpiecomplex · 07/08/2025 21:49

I see everyone is carefully ignoring my question so I suppose I'll start the new thread!

Magpiecomplex · 07/08/2025 21:57

Come on everyone, time to get a wiggle on. Someone organise the rodents, and someone else can look after the marsupials. Don't forget the quolls but for the love of miniature things please make sure we leave the death watch beetle behind!

Bannedontherun · 07/08/2025 21:57

Well that was the plan 😂

thank you xxx

Bannedontherun · 07/08/2025 21:58

I have the erm nibbles ….

JanesLittleGirl · 07/08/2025 22:06

I'll see you on the other side

lcakethereforeIam · 07/08/2025 22:46

I'll round up the pigs and goats, makes sure the squirrels are awake and have packed up the library.

Don't forget to namechange, if you need to, before posting on the new thread.

The capybara are the best when it comes to moving day!

I'll leave a note jic the seagulls show up again. The scarlet ibises are looking a bit bewildered.

A bit like this, Swash?Smile

Is that in the Real Blue Stocking, or is it another model you have made? 😮

inkymoose · 07/08/2025 22:59

Oh there's nothing to see here! I shall go and find the bus.

I don’t like posting on the new threads until the old one has fulfilled its destiny. But I just don’t know what to say.

presumably the cove and all the various boats stay where they are and don’t need moving?

You have to straddle the threads to ensure a moving process, pass me the rum collection ….

Swashbuckled · 07/08/2025 23:15

I was just thinking about that.
Trying to make sense of the moving when we end up in the same place.
I mean, I see it as a magical phenomenon. Reminds me of the land at the top of the Faraway tree, and the rush to get back down.
But, what is it in Badley Fuckitt terms as opposed to Mumsnet terms.
I’m all out of my depth.

Magpiecomplex · 07/08/2025 23:18

I see it as similar to the Mad Hatter's tea party. We're just moving along one space!

ErrolTheDragon · 07/08/2025 23:18

Where’s Colin hiding?
My old dachshund once disappeared completely. Turned out he’d burrowed too far down my bed, rolled off the end and was caught as it was firmly tucked in - like a hammock. I really don’t know what he was doing for air but he seemed none the worse when I liberated him.

Ah…hammocks…there you are Colin, in the one slung in the orchard. We’ll take that along with us too.
