All women welcome, pull up a pygmy hog, the bargerbil will serve you a drink, the flying squirrels will bring you something to read and the goats will do...I'm not entirely sure.

There may be more than the usual amount of chaos as we transition to the new thread.

My thinking is that for physio, you'd want an animal with strong arms and opposable thumbs.

Maybe a Funky Gibbon?

There's always aromatherapy, though I think we should bar Pepe Le Pew.

Pepe le Pew is male anyway, isn't he? The Staunch Ally is welcome to him!

lcakethereforeIam · 01/08/2025 17:19

A fossa? They've got reversible feet, like a squirrel, or perhaps the flying squirrels might be qualified. They've read everything in the Bluestocking library.

Ferrets are dear little things, and they have lovely soft feet, and when they aren't very gently padding over hurty bits they can amuse everyone with their demonstrations of reversing.

Ferrets smell, though...

DeanElderberry · 01/08/2025 17:40

Not unpleasantly. Slight musk.

lcakethereforeIam · 01/08/2025 17:41

Male ferrets smell, the jills not so much. Though they can be killed by their hormones if they come into season. We had some wait ferrets a few threads ago.

Are females a bit less odiferous than males, in general?

Ferrets, or not species-specific?

DeanElderberry · 01/08/2025 17:45

I think Fidelma and Felicity will be just fine if they have had their little girl ferret's operation. (And have their ears looked after, according to the internet, which sounds mysterious.)

They HONG.

They're very cute and entertaining, but I once had to share a bedroom with two of them.

Never again.

DeanElderberry · 01/08/2025 18:20

Maybe they were intact males. Sharing bedrooms with them can be a bit fraught. Even when they are cute and entertaining.

Anyway, the physio suite is part of the stable block (for the convenience of gerbils injured during dance practice, the little scamps have such a tendency to excessive ebullience, and so many joints to sprain) - and very well ventilated - so any lingering essence of ferret shouldn't interfere with anyone's rest.

MyrtleLion · 01/08/2025 18:29

My ex took in a ferret after we split. Because it was cute.

It cost him a fortune in vet’s bills because it lost an eye to cancer or something and steadfastly refused to have it put down, even though it was clearly suffering. He took it with him to work, who were surprisingly tolerant of it, and him - I once left the house for a meeting and said he had to leave (shared house and he didn’t live with me). I couldn’t force him, so had to go. I returned about 1pm and he was still in bed. He should have been at his office by 10.

That’s when I left him.

No, sorry, can't be doing with ferrets (my DGD has one called Toast). It's not just the smell. I know this is irrational, but there's something... snakey.... about their heads and I have a real phobia of snakes. Yes, I know ferrets are not in any way reptilian but I can't convince my unconscious mind of that.

Bannedontherun · 01/08/2025 19:02

Hi everybody. I have missed so much. I have to admit I became addicted to the Sandie case.

And when that finished, I went on to the hard core stuff <hangs head in shame> the <gulps> Micheal Foran sub stack. I have been binging day and night until there. Is nothing left.

can someone point me to the rehab rooms please.

Maybe a mongoose then, they kill snakes don’t they?

MarieDeGournay · 01/08/2025 19:55

Every day a schoolday - I never heard of fossas! They are..interesting. The two cuties in Cake's video look like babies, the older ones don't look so fluffy, they look like a cat's head on a sleek something-or-another's body. Out of scale. Not very cute at all.

Maybe we could have a day-care facility for baby fossas?

I think ferrets are lovely, as are their wild cousins the pine marten. This being the Bluestocking, we can have anything we like, and they won't do anything untoward like smelling awful, or ripping the gerbils to shreds😁

A mongoose would only stir things up in Pedantry Corner, especially if we got two of them🙄

Sure, downstairs next to the spa.
First part of the detox is to offload a précis of the last couple of days of the case, for t Jose of us who lost track of events this week.

DeanElderberry · 01/08/2025 19:58

Oh dear, I'll have to explain to Felicity and Fidelma that they do not qualify to staff the Bluestocking. I'll tell them about Myrtle being wronged by a philanderferret, with such heartbreak that even a glimpse of a dear little mustelid is enough to trigger her. I won't accuse them of being odoriferous. I'm sure with their skills and charm they'll soon find gainful employment.

And maybe they would have found it hard to resist eating the gerbils.

lcakethereforeIam · 01/08/2025 20:23

Ferrets are domesticated polecats. Martens are different. Pine martens were known as sweetmarts because they didn't smell like polecats, aka foumarts. Stone martens are found in Europe but didn't make it to the UK before the Channel formed. They had a thing about car engines and were prone to chewing and destroying the pipes and gaskets. Apparently you could take out specific insurance against marten damage.

So, ferrets? No!

Fiddler crabs called Fanny? Is it a maybe?

Bannedontherun · 01/08/2025 20:54

Okay Errol , <pulls up a chair> clutches pearls.

I think I last reported up to the expert witness revealing that Uppity phone evidence was examined and was shown to have been tampered with.

Uppity evidence has been completely discredited.

Jane Russell KC for the defence (which i will refer to herein after as nutter) got more and more batshit as case went along, singing off the TRA hymn sheet.

She accused the expert of not being neutral, and that he and Saint NC and crew had all breached their professional standards.

She also fished for who was paying him. (Ergo JKR)

It was clear rows between nutter and NC were ongoing in closed parts of hearing.

Nutter asserted that misgendering uppity left and rights was a breach of human rights, Foran thinks likely that uppity will seek to appeal a negative outcome for him via Fox bothered funds.

NC asserted to Judge he was not being even handed which seemed to cause judge to intervene more as nutter kept interrupting.

Anyway next two 😱😱😱awful witnesses were basically grasses from Peggie corner. One was in the changing room when the Xmas eve played out but mostly sounded like a Sandie hating fibber.

The second was far worse. She was on a what’s app group called Benidorm.

Possie. This group had been running for seven years.

She went to the Board with a screenshot of Peggie posts which were with out a doubt racist.

NC managed to retrieve the situation with a somewhat subdued Sandy on the stand.

Next witness was admin from sex matters who spoke to someone working at NHSF re a worker who was also upset by the situation at Fife.

this being weak hearsay evidence.

Anyway it all ended so now we await the judgement.

But i think from what NC said there will be further litigation regarding additional detriments caused to Sandie by the NHSF website statement.

Phew i feel a bit better now….
