All women welcome, pull up a pygmy hog, the bargerbil will serve you a drink, the flying squirrels will bring you something to read and the goats will do...I'm not entirely sure.

There may be more than the usual amount of chaos as we transition to the new thread.

Oh, er, yes, well, I think I might be a tad too delicate for pummelling. Or sports massage. <shudders>

Something gentle and soothing, please.

Freshly squeezed orange juice and a hot water bottle for the aches and pains?

MORNING ALL! sorry, morning all! No such thing as a hangover in the Bluestocking, but other forms of feeling fragile are available, clearlyWink
I'll never know what went on after I left early last night - you either don't remember, or will never tell.. what happens in the Bluestocking lock-ins stays in the Bluestocking lock-ins... well of course it would, cos it's locked in, duhGrin
I gave some thought to where we might recruit a team of physios, and the first qualification was a name starting with ph, but most of those were either birds - a bit pecky - or a phoenix, which has unusual workplace requirements🔥

So I compromised and went for animals beginning with F - take your pick from
frilled lizard
fiddler crab
ferruginous hawk
false cobra
fangtooth
fennec
No, I wouldn't fancy any of them having a go at my sacro-iliacs either😧

The one I liked the sound of was the Fila Brasileiro - described as having 'a cat-like gait', which made it sound like somebody on Copacabana beach, or a line from Jorge Ben's song Filho Maravilha.

But it turns out it's a huge hunting dog with powerful jaws, so not idea physio material..

I think we should stick to the gerbils with little mitts on - maybe somebody could design little mitts that also function as heated pads?

Morning all! I would offer to sing something cheerful for everyone feeling delicate this morning, but unfortunately I seem to have sprained my vocal cords last night and can only croak.
I'll take a hot chocolate and concentrate on resting my voice.

I'm not sure if my cousin the sionnach feinneach would be good physio material, but she does have amusing sticky out ears.

French bulldogs are cute but a bit small and goofy to be knocking your vertebrae into shape.

I did notice the cute little sticky-out ears on your sionnach feinneach cousins, Sionnach, and I thought they looked too sweet to do that 'sticking-thumb-really-hard -into-sore-bit-and-cooing-sorry-does-that-hurt' thing that physios do with what I'm convinced is sadistic glee😟

But this one looks like it could do yoga sessions at the BluestockingSmile

It occurs to me that a phoenix would at least have its own heating mechanism.

lcakethereforeIam · 01/08/2025 11:41

Morning...just. I feel like I got a real work out last night. Actually I'm feeling quite stretched and limber.

French toast with maple syrup and fresh berries, please bar gerbil and a big pot of tea. Ta!

Frog the physio?
Perhaps a bit too small.

Boiledbeetle · 01/08/2025 12:08

Fanny the Fiddler Crab: Fanny physio?

I'll get my coat.

I could do with some of that.

anyone else getting an involuntary workout at the very thought of Fanny fiddler crab physio?😬

lcakethereforeIam · 01/08/2025 12:58

Female fiddler crabs just have two normal sized claws. The single giant claw is only carried by the males. They're essentially penis substitutes, crab equivalent of a shiny sports car to intimidate other males and attract the ladiees. Fanny's two normal sized claws are both useful.

Still claws though. Not really ideal for physio of any type!

lcakethereforeIam · 01/08/2025 13:15

Perhaps...woss that thing called? The one with needles?

Not tattoos. The other thing.

Although tattoos...

Eta the 'fiddler' in fiddler crabs was because they looked like they were playing the musical instrument. I hope I can go back to seeing that interpretation. 😕 Hopefully, one day.

Acupuncture?

Acupuncture?

l believe that requires considerable precision which is probably beyond the abilities of even a well intentioned Bluestocking crab. But hey, if you want to try it, I’m sure we can install a saltwater tank and invent an alternative therapy - Obviously named aquapuncture. Count me out!

lcakethereforeIam · 01/08/2025 13:24

Yes! Perhaps Fanny could do that. With her little needlely(sp?) claws and legs.

I guess you’re already accustomed to being nibbled so maybe your threshold for this sort of thing is higher than mine. Tbh I’m pretty impervious

And I have a nice thick layer of feathers in the way.

There's always aromatherapy, though I think we should bar Pepe Le Pew.
