All women welcome, pull up a pygmy hog, the bargerbil will serve you a drink, the flying squirrels will bring you something to read and the goats will do...I'm not entirely sure.

There may be more than the usual amount of chaos as we transition to the new thread.

When you're really busy, you can't go to the loo fast enough in a jumpsuit...

You sound like you know from experience!

Bar gerbil's been watching Westerns. She's got a brown derby hat, a striped weskit and a massive stick-on handle bar moustache. When she's not serving she's obsessively polishing a shot glass. She keeps polishing them into thin shards. She's on her third. And every drink, every single one, even tea, has to be slid down the bar. She's getting better at it but the bar is a sticky mess and the pygmy hogs have got completely rat arsed on the spillages.

I'm not sure about the Pygmy hogs

I was impressed that the ai knew what rat arsed meant

lcakethereforeIam · 25/07/2025 22:28

And the mallet?

And the mallet?

I did wonder if it was a special mug to make sliding it along the bar easier? That or she's using it to keep the rat arsed pygmy hogs at bay.

I thought much the same. It appears to be upside down, she’s probably just trapped a tiny sozzled hoglet under it.

FuzzyPuffling · 26/07/2025 07:22

The pygmy hogs have a look of Banned's family about them
Are they pygmy hedgehogs?

Igneococcus · 26/07/2025 07:31

I'd love a coffee/tea shop where your drink gets slid down the counter, might play havoc with the foam art on top a cappuccino though.

DeanElderberry · 26/07/2025 08:02

I think Colin's relationship with the Orkney lovely is being conducted via telepathy and longing gazes; her dads, her big sisters Mavis, Enid, and Sybil, and Henry the cat, keep a protective eye on her.

And the Quokkas will be back from their holliers by the time the tribunal hearings are over. It was very wise of them the head off before the left-behinds hit the booze, there's going to be a marathon clean-up.

I presume the Bluestocking has a beer garden. Is there, by any chance, an attractive woodland on the other side of it?

In which case, could we have a couple of tree kangaroos?

Ooh he's a bit gorgeous, Boily. Is he your special friend?

FuzzyPuffling · 26/07/2025 10:35

We definitely have woodland, Cher, but if that kanga craps on my head when I'm having a contemplative walk, I won't be best pleased! 😂

Beetle you might have competition. Unless that's you in the top picture? Only the bottom ones are male. Bit of a looker though.

I thought they were all male too. They missed a trick calling the antennae "love detectors" though. Should have been "lurve detectors".

MyrtleLion · 26/07/2025 12:35

I think he likes you.

Yes, the Bluestocking decided it would be more romantic to meet in the moonlight, so made that happen.

No need for questions, it’s just magic,

lcakethereforeIam · 26/07/2025 12:44

It's the number of 'feathers' in the antenna. Girls have six, boys seven. Unless the bottom ones are females with strap-ons. I believe they can get convincing prosthetics. The males have to tuck two together or have an 'ectomy.

Of course, if he's a boy- beetle, he'll have to make do with the Staunch Ally.

MarieDeGournay · 26/07/2025 12:55

Ambassadors, you are spoiling us!
Two new animals to go awwwww over.

Your fella is very cute, Boily, I just hope he doesn't mind his date being taller than him.

Tree kangaroos - never heard of them! but then I'd never heard of quokkas either. Australia, eh? it's either venomous spiders the side of dinner plates😱
or the cutest cuddliest little critters everrrrrrr😍

They are very sweet and, like quokkas, seem to have a natural smile on their cute little faces, so yes we have to have a few in the woods beyond the beer garden.

I'm sure they can be trained to use litter trees on the ground, Fuzzy, or you can carry an umbrella😄

Just imagine if Isaac Newton had been sitting under a tree with a tree kanga in it, Newtons First Law might have been 'Oh shit!', his Second Law 'Oh shit, there's a tree kangaroo up there!' and his Third Law might have been 'Oi, Cher - you and your bright ideas' 😁

Given the popularity of some of the Staunch Ally patrons, I wonder if there's a connubial halfway house? And if so, what it's called?
The Leg-over seems a bit crude. The You're Inn is a bit too punnish...
