Donated. Sick to my back teeth of these idiots! Thanks Sex Matters!

SinnerBoy · 15/07/2025 00:33

Well, i do believe that CoLC have, against all advice, entered a barefoot arse kicking competition with a porcupine.

I hope to be home on Thursday night and will be able to donate soon afterwards.

BoeotianNightmare · 15/07/2025 08:01

There has been a ManFriday “visit” since the SC ruling so it has been tested. They got chucked out by security and I think the Police were called

I was on the heath an hour after the protest and the police were literally patrolling the men's pond in cars to stop women getting in.

Greyskybluesky · 15/07/2025 09:18

We all know that TRAs have taken to parroting the words and phrases used by pro-women supporters. Appropriating them and twisting them to suit their own cause rather than coming up with anything original and new.

The latest I've seen is in relation to the Ladies' Pond.
"If you don't like transinclusive spaces go and fight for your own separate (but equal) spaces"

You honestly couldn't make it up!

I thought JK Rowling was giving them all they money they needed. So why is there crowdfund after crowdfund?

Because transactivists keep lobbying service providers to break the law and discriminate against women. Do you know what would also stop the crowdfunds? If public service providers stop discriminating women by not giving them a single sex venue, when they already have a mixed sex and men have a single sex pond.

fromorbit · 15/07/2025 09:30

This is a great case.

The Corporation of London is one of the oldest and most elite institutions in the UK. If we defeat them then it is a signal that no institution can get away with this stuff no matter how powerful.

It means we can take on every other council who thinks women don't exist - looking at you Bristol.

Shock The hypocrisy (not to mention the unlawfulness) of that is breathtaking.

That is a brilliant turn of phrase, I love it.
@ScribblingPixie how ridiculous. I know a copper in the Met quite well and he thinks it’s all nonsense and many of his colleagues do too. I raised it with my MP, Tulip Siddiq, when I was asking for her support for the SC ruling, especially in the HoC. I’m not sure if the ponds are in her constituency or maybe Keir’s? Or maybe the Heath isn’t in a constituency. I need to find out and write to her again. She hasn’t answered that last one but she’s usually quite responsive so maybe it’s still coming

Noshowlomo · 15/07/2025 10:20

Donated. Thanks

it's ridiculous and maddening that this needs to be done

Except trans rights activists, including on this site, are constantly telling us that no one can stop men using women’s spaces because it isn’t a police matter but a civil one 🙄

Fully agree, and that’s what I’d say to people who think it’s frivolous. It’s also extremely captured.

NebulousDog · 15/07/2025 10:37

Ah yes; wasn’t Mr Lord in charge of the original consultation, where an astonishing number of replies were rejected?

He was also the one who was trying avoid having to recuse himself from a GC employment tribunal panel, wasn’t he?

A very well done to the moustached ladies who had a jolly cold swim in the Gents pond a few months ago. I’d also like to thank the police who turned up to prevent them from swimming again (who have certainly helped the case that the “Men/Women” means “biological, not identifies as”, albeit that they probably did so unwittingly).

Greyskybluesky · 14/07/2025 09:20

I've just been reading about this on their website

https://sex-matters.org/posts/updates/women-only-doesnt-mean-single-sex-says-corporation-of-london/

"It [CoL] says that we [SM] have confused the definition of sex in the Equality Act with the use of the terms “women” and “men” on the Corporation’s notices and in its policies. It says these do not refer to the ordinary meaning of women and men in biology and law but “must be read in light of the access arrangements in place at the Ladies’ Pond, pursuant to which both trans women and biological women have been permitted to access the Ladies’ Pond and have done so now for many years”.

It claims that “the Ladies’ Pond is not a single sex facility… precisely because trans women are permitted to access the swimming facilities”.

It argues that it therefore does not need to rely on the single-sex and separate-sex exceptions in the Equality Act in order to provide a lawful single-sex service because when it says “men” and “women” it is not referring to sex at all."

Is this not a totally backwards argument? That because men (TW) use the Ladies' Pond, it's not a single sex facility?

Also: their argument that when it says “men” and “women” it is not referring to sex at all 🙄
So their argument is that CoL have their own definition of women and men!

"How many legs does a dog have, if you call the tail a leg?"

I don't think I'll be asking the CoLC!

I was the heath police, I think. Not sure but I think City of London controls them.

SumUp · 15/07/2025 10:45

Anactor · 14/07/2025 08:41

Donated. If the City Corporation win then there are three mixed sex ponds - oh, except the men don’t let the women in theirs, do they, even if they are wearing wigs and fake beards.

Is that right (am not in London)? They are taking the piss!

Ereshkigalangcleg · 15/07/2025 10:48

They’ve been taking the piss for a long time, including the things pp mentioned about Lord.

SumUp · 15/07/2025 10:52

It’s disgraceful. They are blatantly showing what they can get away with. Not for long hopefully. I hope that the law is upheld.

Yes, it was Kristie Higgs’ ultimately successful claim.

https://thecritic.co.uk/a-rare-victory-for-free-speech/

links to this which goes into detail on both recusals. Trans rights activists were very interested in this case, and I remember one boasting here that they expected it to result in a ruling which would overturn Forstater. Oh well.

Kristie's case finally heard after second panel member removed - Christian Concern

In a highly unusual, if not unprecedented move, the President of the Employment Appeal Tribunal, has been forced to recuse two lay panel members for perceived bias on transgenderism and extreme sex education. This morning in London, lawyers representin...

WithSilverBells · 15/07/2025 13:35

30% of crowdfunder goal met

Harassedevictee · 15/07/2025 14:13

The interesting thing is, in the very remote possibility the CoL wins, they cannot then say “men” means biological men so the “men’s” pond automatically includes anyone who identifies as male. So all three ponds become mixed sex. After all there is no definition of how someone “lives as a man”.

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 15/07/2025 14:28

Just donated.
These men are outrageous and must be stopped.

Thanks for starting the thread.
