I don't understand the connection? Surely this is funded by the SU which is not the university. It will be the university making the staff cuts.

That's what I thought, and using changing facilities isn't costing anything anyway. It's a student union event not a university-organised one.

I am old and out of touch, but face painting? Crafting? When I was a student in the early 1980s we were desperate to be seen as adults. Now it seems to be ther other way around.

It's understandable you'd think that, given the way trans rights activists spring into action to try to disrupt any events run by people critical of gender ideology. However, fortunately, we don't respond in kind. If people want to have a march and a breakfast, let them get on with it.

I don't get this. It's July. Most students have left for the summer. I had 10 students in to resit an exam last week. Apart from us the building was deserted.

They’ll be attending Northern Pride. Meet at the uni for breakfast, paint flags on faces, make banners and then attend local march. There’s something similar for hospital staff
