Apparently, in addition to him being the "true victim" in the BBC's investigation (see his statement of yesterday on Instagram where "nothing was done to investigate my disability" or "protect me from...a dangerous environment"), his "friends" now claim that incidents such as him opening doors with a sock on his penis while he shouted "hooray" were due to his autism which, in turn, meant he couldn't wear underwear.

I have no words other than to say I know quite a few autistic people. Not one of them behaves as, or uses autism to excuse being, a sex pest.

Whoever is doing his crisis PR has really pulled out all the stops.

Gregg Wallace’s autism means he can’t wear underwear, say friends

Sources close to ex-MasterChef presenter claim he has ‘hypersensitivity’ to tight clothing and his condition is partly to blame for his inappropriate behaviour

Yes, the industry is utterly riddled @deadpan It seems to attract bad sorts, but also the deeply ingrained culture of "Oh that's just what he's like, don't mind him" You absolutely would not get that anywhere else - at that level - these days.

I used to think that being a chef was a nightmare as there seemed to be no rules about your boss not shouting in your face that you were a fucking cunt, but at least it's not as riddled with predatory men that are excused time and time again with the wave of a hand.

Thats a fair point. Not many chefs in the real world would still be employed for years after appearing in only a sock.
Mind you it would be risky with all that hot fat about.

so when will he come out as trans?

Have a day off.

I see Torode’s a cunt too. Who’d have thought it eh

And they've just sacked him as well. How do they get away with it for so long?

Allseeingallknowing · 15/07/2025 17:30

What remark did Torode make? He can’t remember it!

RedToothBrush · 15/07/2025 17:40

The person I feel sorry for is the winner of MasterChef 2025.

The pair of them were the reason I never understood friends etc gushing over Masterchef. I used to say can’t you see they’re piss taking cunts? To me it was screaming from every pore. Good riddance

Me too. I've mentioned before that I did Masterchef (in 2001 with Gary Rhodes) There's an awful lot of work goes into it, including non televised heats (or there was at that time) We filmed in early Feb and the programmes aired from late May onwards. I didn't win, but obviously you have to keep quiet about who won etc. That person is going to potentially lose their moment of glory. Back when I did it, it wasn't as prestigious. I mean, it was still big and I did a lot of publicity; interviews, magazine articles, my recipes published online and in BBC good food magazine. People make careers on the back of it now. It all stinks and has needed a makeover for a long time now.

@MixedFeelingsNoFeelings I can't find the DM article you referred to. Could you link please? I'm assuming you mean the latest (young) wife? I did go a googling, but had the misfortune to happen across their OK wedding photo of them cutting the cake. He looks like the father of the bride next to her! 🤮

Sure! In the Marina Hyde piece it's linked as 'it didn't work out'. That takes you to an admittedly fascinating piece in the Daily Mail in which both Gregg and his latest ex-wife Heidi both give their reasons for the split:

Congrats on doing an earlier Masterchef btw, impressed!!

Marriage doesn’t get tougher than this! MasterChef’s Gregg Wallace and his wife of 15 months reveal why she's had to leave him

She says he’s needy, he says she’s taken over his life. He says let’s work at it, she says it’s over – but she won’t move out for three years. Gregg Wallace and his wife Heidi on their whirlwind marriage.

Bloody Nora! They split after being married just over a year. He moved out and she stayed at home looking after his 18 and 15 year old kids from one of his previous marriages! He's such a man child and it seems he has never taken responsibility for anything in his goddamn life. His poor fucking kids!

BezMills · 16/07/2025 10:48

I hope she smashed up his little soldiers before she moved out. Might be a metaphor, might not.

SidewaysOtter · 16/07/2025 11:08

There was a comment on this week's I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue about Bald Knob in Australia. Apparently "there's also one in Kent; he used to present MasterChef".

Childish, but it made me laugh Grin

Which wife was this? You know a while back before all this kicked off (and the complaints about him were in the news) there was a 'my daily routine' type of interview with him. In one of the weekend papers? It describes his wife as being a lot younger (of course!), she I think originated from another European country and was the mother of his youngest child (the one who's autistic I believe). It said how she was the one who wanted a child and how he only spent a set time each day with his son. There was also mention of her moving her own parents in with them.

Does anyone else remember this? Poor woman and poor kid. Is she still with him?

SionnachRuadh · 16/07/2025 12:48

So with the reporting of the new allegations that have been coming forward, I'm noticing a pattern.

Young female staffers. Bearing in mind Masterchef has a huge throughput of contestants, he doesn't appear to have been mainly trying it on with contestants. He appears to have been trying it on with young women who were in the business but in precarious employment.

If you're say 21 and just trying to break into the business, are you going to raise a grievance against the star of the show?

Put together with the huge drop in complaints relating to after he was spoken to in 2018, none of that suggests a man who couldn't control himself.

What it does suggest is an environment where certain men's behaviour is winked at, and at best a woman entering the environment might be quietly warned about him.

I'm wondering what the next shoe to drop at the BBC will be. I doubt if we've heard all the stories about what was happening on Doctor Who.

RainbowZebraWarrior · 16/07/2025 12:48

@Pemba yes, he basically did as he pleased and must be left alone to play on his PlayStation for hours iirc. I think his son was pencilled in for 30 minutes somewhere along the line. I think his latest wife is Italian.

SionnachRuadh · 16/07/2025 12:50

I'm not sure that giving lots of details about his home life is convincing people of what an absolute prince he is.

The one before the current one. The current one parents his youngest whilst he acknowledges the child for an hour a day. She naturally does all the domestic stuff. He only gave her permission to have a child if he didn't have to parent.

The man is a narcissist cock end with no respect for women or the children he makes. He views it as beneath him.

RedToothBrush · 16/07/2025 13:20

Don't forget his marriage to Heidi was not his shortest marriage. His shortest marriage was six weeks.

Having heard that Torode has been sacked for a racist remark (not disputing he shouldn’t be) I can’t help but compare years of not just remarks but actions against women from Wallace which didn’t get him sacked vs one racist remark from Torode which did.
Abusing women is much more socially acceptable than racism.
Is this because men can suffer racism too and they are listened to and taken seriously unlike women reporting misogyny and abuse?

DontStopMe · 16/07/2025 13:26

A day in the life of Greg, from the Telegraph. Enjoy.

Pemba · 16/07/2025 13:40

Wow. 'I have less than 18% body fat and a six pack, but I have a belly that bloats. I guess we all have our imperfections'. Indeed, Gregg.

Only 30 minutes scheduled with his child. Then in the afternoon he spends at least 2 hours playing computer games in his office. Sounds like he had things just how he wanted.

DontStopMe · 16/07/2025 13:49

'I love chatting to the experts, but I’m quite the expert too, having been journalling, manifesting, goal-setting and reading self-help books for years.'

Manifesting? Is that what he calls it?

I'm not exactly getting my violin out for Torode, but I think he's mostly guilty of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. If it's one reported remark which he says didn't happen, summarily sacking him only makes sense if they're all panicking and saying "oh fuck, we need to show zero tolerance". Or he was already going and they decided to make virtue points out of his departure.

Where it really just points up the contrast with how Wallace was indulged for years despite dozens of women complaining about him. I think it really is a woman problem. Look at the months it took for the BBC to admit there was any controversy surrounding Neil Gaiman, and even then they were very minimalist and foregrounded his denials.

You will rarely if ever find me praising the porn industry, but I think of when the James Deen scandal broke at the end of 2015. Deen wasn't a relic from decades earlier, he was a young man and the hottest male star in the business. But when the rape allegations started coming out, within a couple of weeks his career was over and none of the companies would work with him. We're actually at a point where the fucking American porn industry can seem ethical compared to the BBC.

TheDearOtter · 16/07/2025 14:23

Not goning to lie, I think that all that crap got blown WAAAYYYYYYY ot of proportion.
I work in a very male dominated industry, sometimes with much crudeness and litteral dick swinging. - and if i let cocks on show bother me, i'd never get anything done.

Is it questionable behaviour on his part yes - is it worth destorying his life and career over? No.

christ alive - its just a penis. 50% of the population have them. It is literally just and appendage, that some people put too much emphasis on.

Also, its kind of hypocritical really when you think about it. We criticize men for getting their dicks out. but no man would ever go running to HR if we got our boobs out?????
