umm ... may need a bit of adjustment

I got Clara the Capybara out to look at the plans Genavieve drew up after looking at your idea.

In a first for Clara she has refused to give a quote.

Apparently it wouldn't be up to regulation standard so her hands are tied.

I'm fairly sure I heard her saying "no fucking chance" under her breath as she left!

Well done, you are an inspiration, Boily.

I now feel really bad for going back in to the bag for the charity shop to retrieve a white shirt, just because on reflection it was significantly different from all my other white shirts, and I might need exactly that style of white shirt sometime🙄

Go and put it back in right now!

Unless you've actually worn it almost constantly since you removed it.

In Rome for 7 days now. Not a single political protest or demo. Roma Pride was abandoned as we passed. Do you think it’s the weather?

I can’t remember the last time I was in London and the police weren’t policing words and thoughts.

I have an announcement....

Today is the 200th day of keeping my new year's resolution.

That is all

<runs around waving arms madly in the air>

Was the NYR to drink gin every day?

I'd be screwed if it was I think the last time I drank gin was... Does a sip of sloe gin in 2020ish count? Otherwise it's probably around 1987.

LOL

? perhaps replace ‘gin’ with tipple of your choice? Been on the Prosecco this week which is an adequate substitute methinks…

lcakethereforeIam · 19/07/2025 23:12

Decluttering is heavenly. Well done Beetle.

I sometimes think that Clara hasn't quite got her head around the fundamentally surreal nature of this pub...

A bit of a realist, is young Clara.

Incidentally, we're on page 39. I didn't sleep well last night, so I'm about to crash on the back seat of the bus. I've helped the capybaras load up all their safety gear, ensured that the personal (gerbisonal?) effects of those staying with knottyandpistey have been carefully packed and put onto the pantechnicon, and found drivers for the entire tractor collection (there was a fight over who got to drive the Valtra 🙄but that was resolved when they realised that there was a combine too...).

I didn't dare touch the Tunnocks stash.

If I was more alert I'd start the next thread but I'm half asleep already so will just have to find you all there.

ErrolTheDragon · 19/07/2025 23:27

I’m tired too. Maybe we should wait till morning rather than a midnight flit?

ErrolTheDragon · 19/07/2025 16:36

Hello POW, I’m not sure I’ve seen you in here before? - welcome anyway!

Can't recall if I have had a swift half in the Bluestocking before 🤔

Algernon Moncrieff sent me here

🍻

We have 40 posts till we have to move (38 now).

I’d start the next one, but I started two of the last four…

lcakethereforeIam · 20/07/2025 00:03

I'll start it. I don't think I've started one since Christmas. D'you think this one'll last until morning? <cautiously kicks metaphorical tyre>

lcakethereforeIam · 20/07/2025 00:04

Oops, just noticed it is morning.

Magpiecomplex · 20/07/2025 00:18

Still mid afternoon here... I'll make sure the labs are clear and locked up. By the way, no one try suggesting prairie dogs as an addition to the Bluey. They are unfeasibly cute but apparently carry plague.

The Bluey has an automatic decontamination field which removes all unwanted microbes, ticks, fleas etc.

I'd forgotten about that! In that case, I'm bringing some prairie dogs home with me!

There we are, freshly decontaminated and ready to go.

Think how much we’d be paying for wormer, Bravecto etc etc for all the animals otherwise. Colin is very happy not to have to have pills forced down his throat.

If we have room for a groundhog,I can offer the one that lives under my garage. He’s very good at eating the grass, and any other plants he can get his gnashers on, so he can keep the garden in good shape (we do have a garden, don’t we? If not I think we should).

Capybaras are up early. Hopefully they've been ultra quiet and not woken anyone when they were packing up

Of course we have a garden, or more accurately gardens to suit all needs.
And paddocks for the goats, donkeys etc.
