I have also been catching up with Tribunal Tweets. Fingers heavily crossed (makes typing difficult but what the hell...) that justice is served, SP reinstated and possibly promoted, and Dr U told to scuttle off to the men's changing rooms. The elaborate description by Elspeth Pitts of how upset and distressed he was at being 'misgendered' and nobody even asked SP how she felt about having to get undressed in front of somebody who was clearly male when she was trying to deal with a menstrual flood. Gaaaah!

DeanElderberry · 18/07/2025 19:47

You mean after they tried to edit it and then realised loads of people had seen and saved the original version they kept ON digging the hole deeper and deeper?

SionnachRuadh · 18/07/2025 19:52

When this whole thing is done, NHS Fife will need a complete rebrand.

I'm suggesting they change their name to "Sunshine Desserts".

AsWithGlad · 18/07/2025 20:12

ErrolTheDragon · 18/07/2025 19:25

My eye is a lot better but still not right which makes too much screen time a bit of a pain so I’ve not been following the tribunal threads. Any chance of some pithy highlights?

There’s a great summary by Boswelltoday on X, quoted here at 17:22.

lcakethereforeIam · 18/07/2025 20:18

The rate they're going there's going to be more versions of that Fife statement than MN's got Peggie threads.

AsWithGlad · 18/07/2025 20:21

If you can bear to visit X you can read Boswelltoday’s summaries of both the morning and afternoon sessions here,

lcakethereforeIam · 18/07/2025 20:18

At some they will end up running out of words to delete and the final version will just say

NHS Fife
Ends

I'm suggesting 'Sellafield'Grin

I'm not on social media at all [unless MN is SM?😧] and I wonder if this is what it's like being addicted to SM, I've been totally absorbed by the tribunal, organising meal times around it etc!

I put off getting my hair cut yesterday until today when the trib ended. What did those f*wits at NHS Fife do? They only issued a dramatic and potentially libellous statement moments before the scheduled end of the day's proceedings! Honestly, have they no consideration at all! 😄But it's all right, I managed to get my hair cut and that's the most important thing in all this, obviously😁

So I haven't been to the Bluestocking all day, and now I'm doing a quick reccy of how you all are and what you are up to -
Magpie - Wyoming? Seriously?? Wow.
Myrtle - not too long to wait now till surgery, hopefully it will make a big difference.
Errol - I'm glad your eye is improving, though not quickly enoughSad
The tribunal defies summarising, TBH - I think the main point from yesterday was that they have no proper structures or policies for handling incidents, so they made it up as they go along in whatever way would prioritise Dr Upton's specialness.

Today the main point was that from the very first moment DrU's version of events was 100% believed - because he was sobbing and visibly distressed!
Nobody considered the possibility that there were two sides to the story, nobody asked Sandie for her version, and nobody took a few moments out of the wall-to-wall fawning over the distressed DrU to check if SP was OK..
The emails were circulated which were based entirely on DrU's version of events, and SP was immediately considered guilty.

That was the main point from my point of view, until a few minutes before the scheduled end, Naomi dramatically asked for a pause to consider some unexpected development..
It was a long and potentially libellous statement by NHS Fife.. but I won't summarise that, I couldn't do it justice!

MarieDeGournay · 18/07/2025 21:43

And then there's Boily's swollen ankle, Woley's knee, shoulders, AND unexpected interaction with the floor, and Fuzzy's ongoing not-very-wellness - all overshadowed by the lure of the tribunal!

I hope having Dr Bessie around is proving beneficial and everything is improvingSmile

MarieDeGournay · 18/07/2025 22:07

Errol - I found this good summing up about the NHS Fife statement on the current trib thread

Largesso · Today 21:51
Earlier today Maya transcribed a damning letter from KS from the bundle for Twitter. It explodes the idea there was ever an attempt at due process or any desire to ‘support’ SP.
At around 2.30 today NHS Fife published the first iteration of a long statement that basically said:

  • Sex Matters are meanies and because of TT tweets everyone can see all our dirty laundry and none of it is reasonable because NC is also chair of Sex Matters so she shouldn’t also be allowed to be barrister-ing.
  • we would have fucking settled if we could but we can’t because DU insists on setting terms that SP will never agree to. We would have had it sorted by now if it wasn’t for him, sorry her, sorry then FFS! (They would not have had it sorted)
  • the death threats were only against them and were caused by the Sex Matters and TT meanies.
  • That fucking judge should never have allowed the dirty public to see our very important but invisible work of due process
  • We’re not really allowed to say anything and we really believe in protecting the privacy of our peeps — except of course when we want to write emails about the fragrant DU and nasty old SP to all and sundry
  • and on and on and fucking on as infinity.
In court CE expressed concern. JR revealed she knew nothing about it. It was revealed that the case has been moved to Dundee cos of death threats to Claimants lawyer — not how it was presented in statement. Judge will review and consider on Monday. NHS FiFe removes statement only for it to return shortly after with a disclaimer saying they weren’t suggesting the death threats were instigated by Sex Matters. Statement re published Statement amended again and all mention of Sex Matters is removed expected for the added disclaimer. Now that makes no sense. We are inferring that although the statements has clearly been prepared over a number of days with many inputs — I suspect KS is pulling the levers — the decision to publish came in before doc was finished and in an angry knee jerk to Maya daring to publish KS letter and expose them further to the great unwashed.
EdithStourton · 18/07/2025 22:09

That update by Boswelltoday is just 😮😮😮
What a bunch of unprofessional idiots.

I'll be honest, when I was at work, like every other minion I didn't have the time to read things like the Safeguarding Policy in minute detail. I just absorbed the overall idea, used my common sense and knew who I was supposed to talk to - and whenever a Situation arose, I was sufficiently on the ball to check with someone, go and speak to someone else, and then fill the relevant form if it was deemed to be necessary (it was both times). The people I was supposed to speak to knew what they were doing. Rural primary school, clued on class teachers, clued on SLT.

It sounds as if NOBODY at NHS Fife had the faintest idea. They bungled along, relying on some policies and not others and totally ignoring one of the two people involved. And even know they're busy issuing random statements when they should be only opening their gobs very cautiously and when asked.

I suspect some rather nasty weekends are being had at the moment.

PS I have not had the time to spend following the tribunal (guest, work, etc) but it is forecast to rain tomorrow so I won't be gardening, I'll be hunched over MN.

lcakethereforeIam · 18/07/2025 22:29

How about Windsor? As a name change.

ErrolTheDragon · 18/07/2025 23:11

Thanks all for the info. Flowers

AsWithGlad · 18/07/2025 23:20

@EdithStourton , I’ve been in a similar situation in two secondary schools - one in a small to medium sized independent school, the other a very tiny establishment which took a specific group of students.

In both I was supposed to report straight away without taking time to discuss it with anyone, and I did.

Both places insisted on all staff doing safeguarding training every year, even when I only did a couple of hours a week. I’m not sure about office staff in the independent school, but certainly anyone who had contact with students did - when I started tutoring one year after the start of term there were grounds staff and sports hall staff on the course I did.

It’s something OFSTED looks at. Is there no equivalent for public hospitals?

Edit; we also had to sign that we had read the relevant documents, and were chased up if we hadn’t.

AsWithGlad · 18/07/2025 23:28

On a different topic, it was the last date for posting squares for lovely Swashy’s blanket, so I did.

Here are the decorated ones.

To add to my penultimate post (😃) , we had to sign that we’d read the new documents if they were updated during the year, that is.

The weekly newsletter sent to all staff at the tiny place always had a link to the relevant files in the standard notes at the end.

I did not even finish my gin here before the bell rang and i scuttled back to the court.

<chucks two neet gins down my throat> unusually intoxicating.

Forgive my waxing lyrical, it feels to me as follows.

There was the tsunami of gender ideology that chucked some of us against a wall,

others were watching from a balcony unable to help.

the tide is withdrawing, the clutter and shit it brought with it has scuffed bruised and ripped the skin off legs arms and faces of those who were in the way,

the observers ran down and dragged the victims out

Ran up the hillside together in care.

Then an other wave comes and we watch on the hill,

there were still some women left down at the beach.

we run back at our peril to retrieve the last

one day this nightmare will be in the past.

MarieDeGournay · 19/07/2025 00:28

What a creative few posts to finish off the day with!
Very strong and very moving lines, Banned.
Lovely squares Glad. The ship and the teddybear are just brilliant!

Night all, and love to Swash if she pops her head around the door Flowers💙Flowers x

MarieDeGournay · 19/07/2025 10:47

I'm guessing that Swash only pops in occasionally and isn't going to be reading back through pages and pages, so it's nice to regularly post a Flowers💙Flowers message or one of Boily's beautiful images, so Swash can find them easily whenever she pops her head around the door.
And of course, there's always her ship in the background in other images.

Always in our hearts, dear Swash and young Doc Swash, even as we carry on with the usual Bluestocking ....carry-onSmile xx

MarieDeGournay · 19/07/2025 11:00

... and to illustrate, here's some typical Bluestocking 'carry-on':

I'm sure you're all familiar with one of our 'gentleman callers' as I think of them [yes I know that has a couple of meaning but I just like using it to refer to our annoying male scolders] who is called BeeS....

His Username always make me thing of Arthur Askey's Bee song, of which I've only ever known the lines 'Oh how wonderful to be a healthy grown up busy busy bee' so I googled it.
😱it is one long, very dodgy double-entendre - ah the innocence of childhood, thinking it was a funny song about a bee🙄'raising lumps on a boy-scout's knee'??
There's also a youTube video of him singing it, and 'camp' only goes some of the way to describe his performance. It looks at lot like vogueing at some points!

The I googled AA himself, and found that he appears to have been straight in real life - married a woman, had a child, so the camp gay thing appears to have been his stage act.

Best of all, I found out that the women he married was called Elizabeth May...
Swash!

AsWithGlad · 19/07/2025 11:02

Thank you for your kind words on my squares for Swashy. It did take several iterations, especially the galleon, but I couldn’t send something if I could see a way which might make it better.

If it hadn’t been for yesterday’s deadline (and no tribunal to watch today) I’d probably still be trying something else.
