edit: The Council of Europe has previously been very critical of how the UK deals with its trans citizens, it will be interesting to see if anything comes of this.

Transgender campaigners call for European rights body to report on UK

Alliance of groups wants Council of Europe to investigate implementation of supreme court ruling on biological sex

One question for you Bee, what about the rights of females to have spaces free from any males?

ErrolTheDragon · 29/06/2025 09:06

Maybe women should urge the council of Europe to ‘investigate’ the SC ruling too? If its members are currently confused as to what the word ‘woman’ means it provides exemplary clarity.

Datun · 29/06/2025 09:06

It looks like B isn't reading any of their own links, or making any of their own arguments. But outsourcing it all.

Which would account for the lack of comprehension, inconsistency, and numerous contradictions.

Describing the content of links which is often the opposite to what they actually contain and claiming women have said things, that they clearly haven't.

Complete waste of time

Thank the gods for AI:

Transgender campaigners in the UK are urging the Council of Europe to investigate a recent Supreme Court ruling that defines "woman" and "sex" based on biological sex. This ruling, they argue, violates the European Convention on Human Rights by restricting transgender individuals from using facilities aligned with their gender identity. The Equality and Human Rights Commission's guidance following the ruling has further marginalized transgender rights. Campaigners warn that without intervention, conditions for transgender people in the UK could deteriorate, prompting their call for a report on the state of trans rights.

If you want serious discussion with a single trans person in this GC space why are you trolling her?

@BeeSouriante I'd like a serious discussion. Please answer my question upthread where I state the rights trans people have and ask what rights they don't have that others do have. please answer my question.

@BeeSouriante
What rights do Trans people not have in the UK that other people have?

They have the right to marry, not be discriminated against in work, housing etc.
They have the right to use toilets according to their sex and access services according to their sex.
They have the right to access NHS healthcare for 'non elective' things such as broken legs, cancer etc.
They have the right to wear what they want and to change their name.

So what 'rights' are we talking about?

@BeeSouriante This question, please. I would like to know the answer.

potpourree · 29/06/2025 09:10

the supreme court’s reasoning was very clear and coherent. Perhaps use the time you spend making weak arguments on MN, on reading it instead?

I really agree with this. OP seems pretty muddled about the ruling. We've had other posters opposing it who have been able to articulate the points in law they feel could be challenged, and it led to a decent legal debate.

That's not possible with @BeeSouriante because they don't really understand what they mean so just copy and paste, over and over, and get chat gpt to generate phrases for them; they're avoidant about their views and have said untrue things.

This isn't going to help any sort of engaging discussion. Do you agree, @BeeSouriante ?

You are so far from for the first man with apparently special lady feelings to come here, spam the board with endless threads, complain about non specific “rights” you’ve lost and tell us we’re all horrid old bigots (polite paraphrase)

we’ve been through this multiple times and we know how it goes plus we’re not your mum, we don’t owe you our time or engagement

What’s to discuss? The highest court in the land has confirmed that transwomen are male and therefore should not be using female single sex spaces. No matter how much you stamp your feet.

BeeSouriante · 29/06/2025 08:45

Feel free to tell me to piss off and I will go - you asked me to be here and I responded ffs.

If you can't deal with a single trans person responding what does that say about your 'movement'?

so if I tell you to piss off you’ll go? Pinky promise?

Yes, it's enlightening how each of these men truly believe they're the first.

Spamming, complaining, flouncing. Rinse, repeat.

I wouldn't mind, but they are like clones of each other. So tedious.

Shortshriftandlethal · 29/06/2025 09:19

TheKeatingFive · 29/06/2025 08:58

What 'rights' are we talking about her Bee?

Why would having access to sex-specific spaces that don't belong to you be a right?

The right to define rights in whatever way is chosen and to hell with any other group. It is the apotheosis of "me, me me" late stage American individualism gone nuts - with a healthy dose of big pharma thrown in for good measure.

You don't enter into discussion or debate, you just plop and go.

If you were open to discussion and debate you would answer the many questions put to you on the many threads you have started instead of running from them believing we should just accept without demur what you dictate.

Who is trolling who?

Have you missed that there ARE people with transgender identities who post on this board? Do they have to 'out' themselves to you, after all your prose about privacy?

I don't see you actually having any intention of having a 'serious discussion', you have now many threads started and you come back and make some sneering comment and tell us that you can't be arsed replying to all the posts. You seem to think that people asking you questions or pointing out the disconnections between your posts and what you say your intentions are, or even valid critique about your links is 'trolling'.

So, from your posts, I think you believe that 'trolling' = valid criticism about the content of your posts, and your repeated false accusations about this board and the people who disagree with you.

Who's trolling you?
If you believe that a post is trolling you or trolling hunting please report those posts to MNHQ with the handy report post button on each post as both trolling and trolling hunting are banned and MNHQ will delete posts/ban posters as nesscary.
Ofcourse if you're just confusing robust debate and disagreement with you as trolling in the same way that correctly sexing someone is literal violence™️ then you won't get the outcome that you hope for

nietzscheanvibe · 29/06/2025 09:22

@BeeSouriante But why should transwomen (men) be given the right to access toilet facilities, or any other woman-only spaces or activities, which align with their gender identity? They're men FFS!

I really think this is another outstanding post.

The assumption that no posters on this board have transgender identities. And that we haven't had 'serious discussions' with them in the past.

Very enlightening. Thanks again.

RedToothBrush · 29/06/2025 09:27

This seems to need repeating every five seconds at the moment

  1. transpeople have not lost rights because of the SC ruling
  2. transpeople have been lied to and mislead by various organisations misrepresenting the law for years. This has lead to an actual loss of rights for women due to them not being able to enforce them properly
  3. transpeople are protected by the SC ruling. Without reference to sex, you can not identify transpeople and protect them in law.
  4. There are various principles in human rights law. One of them is that rights must be balanced and that that can not harm another group. In the case with the conflict point with women this means protecting their sex and providing alternative suitable arrangements for transpeople.
  5. There is no legal right to enforced validation, because this violates various other rights of others people.
  6. Affirmation only policies have done massive harm and exposed various vulnerable groups to considerable harm. The Tavistock scandal is still simmering and will continue to do so. Insurers know it's a ticking time bomb.
  7. Developments elsewhere in the world are headed the same way.

Take it to court. Get various organisations involved.

It won't change these facts. The over reach by transactivism is like an elastic band. It is pinging back to the position it should.

None of these things mean that women are anti-trans. In the UK they tend to be pro-safeguard, pro-science, pro-health care and actually pro-acceptance. They just want privacy, dignity, safety and shock horror respect for women.

Get over yourself and understand that this anti-women shit is over though.

This.
Bee would be far better considering why bee spends so much time on Mumsnet? Why so many seething posts relentlessly criticising women who bee evidently despises? What is it that Bee finds so exciting about posting on here? I'm sure a therapist could help Bee work out why - though we women know precisely what motivates Bee's fury 😁
