Because Pride doesn’t speak for us anymore.
Because lesbian voices are sidelined.
Because we’re done being quiet.
This is a march for lesbians, by lesbians—about visibility, truth, solidarity, and joy.
SUPPORTIVE FRIENDS
Straight female friends can attend only in a support role.
This isn’t a hen do. This is a statement. Respect the space.

On the plus side, it's very useful evidence to the people in the vicinity (thinking of the baffled people in that Manchester shopping centre) and on social media, when they see how inadequates come running to behave atrociously at women peacefully being visible in public. In this case it'll be open homophobia.

Quite a few lesbians are mothers. Pretty sure they can take their children along to this picnic if they want. They’re much less likely to see fetishes on display here than they are at a mainstream Pride event.

Nice little reminder there that women are being discussed and their comments assessed off the forum by a group of men with ill intent towards them. Not chilling or hostile or weird at all.

I think it's how us women are supposed to simper now, @outofdate. I can't quite get the hang of it, no doubt because as a sixty year old lesbian I'm rubbish at womaning and can never aspire to the heights of girlish gaiety as demonstrated by the fragrant @BeeSouriante. I couldn't manage to patronise like a blokey like Bee, for example, or appropriate like a thiefy. Similarly bloviating like a moronic is completely beyond, I'm afraid.

Some of us are supporting the lesbian march & staying away from the main Pride march in London today. It’s difficult to be part of a march where our lesbian and gay rights have been stolen by those who wish to openly parade their fetishistic proclivities.
