WHY WE’RE MARCHING
Because Pride doesn’t speak for us anymore.
Because lesbian voices are sidelined.
Because we’re done being quiet.
This is a march for lesbians, by lesbians—about visibility, truth, solidarity, and joy.
SUPPORTIVE FRIENDS
Straight female friends can attend only in a support role.
This isn’t a hen do. This is a statement. Respect the space.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Powerful speeches (3 mins each, max 15–20 mins total)
Peaceful march to Parliament
Back to the park for picnic & connection
Opportunities to meet others building lesbian space

There's Lesbian Strength in Leeds on the 13th September, too. So far as I'm aware it doesn't clash with anything.

Re the picture I posted - looking at it again, I can't help thinking that if it is, as the caption on the Historic England website states: 'Lesbian Strength and Black Lesbians marching..'
the banner at the front must have said LESBIAN STRENGTH. But the photo has been cropped so that's not visible.
I hope it's some sort of coincidence, but these days, you never can tell...🙄

why does there have to be a parade

Likely to happen:

<100 people in attendance
Most people attending will be straight and / or the usual suspects (aka 'the LGB Alliance effect)

May happen:

A couple of trans women will join in for a giggle and no one will even notice.
Some butch / GNC women will get JK Rowlinged by other attendees

Because lesbians are being driven back in the closet for not wanting to have to deal with lesbophobia, sexism, abuse and harassment.

As long as it's peaceful and no one participating is violent or threatening it's not a problem at all. It's a democratic right of those who attend to do so.

Hmm. Given that the protest purpose is because they no longer feel part of pride, it possibly is a deliberate decision to hold it in another month. Y'know it's not difficult to read the OP and clock this possibly relevant point.

The entire month of Pride is basically dedicated to trans people now, and explicitly excludes anyone who doesn't agree that lesbians can have penises.

Good luck to everyone wanting to do this and hopefully sad twats won't harrass them but I suspect that won't happen.

Yes but the point is that bad lesbians who want their own spaces and to not be used by men should never be out in public at all, never mind enjoy themselves.

Hence why as mentioned above, those who believe in women control, abuse and repression will be there to wreck their day for giggles. Vile behaviour. It's nothing to do with 'trans', it's just plain antisocial nastiness. What the FBI profilers call 'inadequates'.

I think that ship has already sailed by the looks of this thread. Not even a page in and it had three.

No chance of that happening. Rural market town full of drag queens and loud music and progress flags. It was all about men in frocks. Every single event was hosted by a drag queen or had a drag queen as the main performer.

So I can 100% see why lesbians want a march to themselves. They didn't get a look-in at Pride near us.

I hope it goes brilliantly. I say that as a straight woman who has massive respect for all the lesbian feminists who have taken on the gender-borg these past few years.
