Apologies if this has been covered somewhere else, but I saw these billboards driving through an area of london today.

good lord I nearly crashed the car. This is the whole thing they just don’t get! It’s not about what we “look like”! We can look how we want! It’s about the biological reality of womanhood - menstruation, fertility, infertility, pregnancy, menopause. All the shit that goes with that. Not whether you have long hair and a pink top.

This is What a Woman Looks Like – LGBT Foundation

A national charity with LGBTQ+ health and wellbeing at the heart of everything we do.

…or ‘Reality Edition’

Maybe superimposed over a montage of every woman who's had to bring or defend a lawsuit against this madness.. I'd quite like the short haired/lesbian contingent front and centre just to underline the point.

all women – trans women, lesbian and bisexual women, women of colour, disabled women, older women, working-class women, migrant women, and many more – of all shapes, sizes and walks of life – deserve to be seen, heard, and celebrated.

It’s really pushing hard on the fact that the word ‘women’ could be anyone from a trans woman to a working class woman’. No! This is trying to blur lines and fuzzy things up. If we want to celebrate women, just use the word ‘women’! To me that word means a biological woman. I don’t need it spelt out all the different types of women! If I do, then I expect it to be a targeted campaign for a reason to reach say ‘disabled’ or ‘migrant’ women for a reason that particularly benefits them! But otherwise just stop messing with the word ‘woman’ and trying to re-teach us what a woman is as though goodness, we had it wrong all along! This is actually infuriating and at the risk of sounding like the Simpsons vicars wife “won’t somebody please think of the children!” - really I do worry that the future girls to be women won’t realise what’s happening here and how harmful this insidious creep of men into their personal, sports and work places could be. I don’t even have kids but honestly!

Exactly what I done 🤣

I couldn't even guess, tbf. Just tried!

ERthree · 09/06/2025 11:14

How many times do we have to say a bloke can't be a woman, he can pretend but his DNA will sow he is a man. In fact all of the blokes on that poster look like blokes. As the Scottish Baird Rabbie Burns said " a mans a man for aw that"

eqpi4t2hbsnktd · 09/06/2025 11:34

funny looking bunch...

Edited

It’s also just patronising, meaningless puff.

Women don’t need to be ‘celebrated’.

Being female is not a virtue or a skill.

Women do need sex specific rights and the ability to protect those rights by defining themselves and their needs..

That’s it - This is What a Woman Looks Like - with a little “GC Edition” tag or stamp across the corner 🤣

Or This is What a Woman Looks Like - OG 😃

What an interesting site.
It looks like it should consist of links, but it's just a list of random statements with pics of different people smiling and hugging in various combos.

I tried clicking 'What is a woman?' poised to be convinced that males raised as males with male bodies can indeed be as womanish as me, if not even more womanly. But alas it appears they are simply asking the question without offering nor expecting a reply.

Disappointing really. I came away without donating to whatever the vague thing is that they're doing or not doing, nor did I 'buy merch' which looks, from the photo, like a unisex t-shirt which would be ill-fitting on me, as a woman.

Excellent point.

Love the cat / dog sticker, are they order-able?

There are lots of stickers and other “merch” available but I can’t see the cat one now and some of the messages are a bit too ironic imo

FuzzyPuffling · 09/06/2025 18:30

Well I am definitely a woman and I don't look like any of those.
Am I womaning wrong? No.

Gettingbysomehow · 09/06/2025 18:34

Trans women aren't women, end of.

Bannedontherun · 09/06/2025 19:35

If you check the last pic carefully it is obvious the bloke has been imposed after the fact LOL

TheCatsTongue · 09/06/2025 19:37

It's a good campaign and you can even buy a t-shirt. They are all men's sizes.

There's no one that looks like me. Middle-aged, normal looking woman. And there are certainly no elderly women in there.

Elderly women are genuinely some of the most vulnerable people in society. More focus on them would be great, but I somehow doubt it's that sort of campaign.

DeptfordDolly · 09/06/2025 20:24

Women are the only type of woman.

Fuckwits.

TheOtherRaven · 09/06/2025 20:24

It's another of those 'your perceptions have been downloaded' things. Where you tell the NPCs what their programming is and then they obediently run around performing it. In this case 'men are a kind of women'. It's quite sad really.

usedtobeaylis · 09/06/2025 20:26

Oh fucking hell the appropriation of socio-economic class now.

usedtobeaylis · 09/06/2025 20:27

borntobequiet · 08/06/2025 22:06

That is so fucking annnoying and insulting. Idiots.

Basically the full absorption of liberal feminism into queer theory.

localnotail · 09/06/2025 20:45

How come all these "include everyone" group photos always look so wild and always seem to exclude ordinary girls or plain older women? Its always someone "special", with quirky clothes, too much or zero make up, wild hair (or no hair) - or even male. I never seen a bunch of people like the ones in the picture - except maybe at some specialist protest. Get some females together from a bus or a school gate, or at some Tesco - they will never look like this group. It such bullshit.

BernardBlacksMolluscs · 09/06/2025 21:02

It does seem like ‘this is what a woman looks like’ is mainly someone with exuberant tattoos

IWilloBeACervix · 09/06/2025 22:13

It really makes it clear that the only reason for women to exist is to validate the men who want to be in the woman category. They didn’t create that advert thinking about all the different types of women. They created it specifically to insert the men in and say “look at how all these women get an identity label, and that means that the men are women too”.

KnottyAuty · 09/06/2025 22:24

TheCatsTongue · 09/06/2025 19:37

🤣🤣🤣 Good spot!
Small is a 36”-38” chest 😬
2XL 45-45” ?!?
hahahahaha - I’ll be sniggering about this for weeks - thank you!
