Donate £10 to Lumos and have dinner with JKR

I mean this, by the way. Donate £10 to lumos, I'll draw three names out of a hat and we'll have dinner. It could be KFC, but the wonderful JamesChiavarini has just suggested his restaurant, so it might be there instead (travel and accommodation on me if you're not in London).

Offer stands! Applications close at midnight on Monday. A £10 donation means your name will go into the draw.

If your name’s chosen and you’re outside London (or the UK) I’ll pay for travel and accommodation.

Once donations have been verified with Lumos I’ll select three donors’ names at random (can’t promise a literal hat, but who knows).

I’ll match the total sum donated to Lumos between first offer and midnight Monday.

And once my three fellow diners have been chosen, we’ll have a vote on whether we’re having KFC or going to Il Portico.

I’ve donated, but how does JKR know if it’s because of her push for donations? I donated £20, and now I’m worried I should’ve done it in two parts 😂

Did I just donate £10 that I can't really afford? Yes. Yes I did.

Lumos is an incredible children’s charity.

She must surely need several security guards and a bomb sweep of the restaurant before going.

There will surely be plenty of mens’ rights nutters willing to donate a tenner for a chance to forever be the guy woman who took out the queen.

Only last week Baker proudly announced publicly that JKR and KJK should “be afraid”.

Honestly, the courage of that woman never fails to amaze.

I’ve donated even though I already donate monthly to Lumos.

Sorry, @fromorbit, I obviously didn't make it clear that I was actually wondering if anyone knew how much Jolyon's auction of dinner with his fascinating self raised, as mentioned in JKR's tweet? It just occurred to me that even the most deluded TRA wouldn't have stumped up anywhere near as much for his delightful company as we collectively will to Lumos, no matter how privileged his mates might be or how much fine wine was doled out.

You'd think that when someone who has been convicted of attempted murder makes statements like that, it would be a police matter.

Some people on Twitter asking JKR "will there be a vegetarian option" made me laugh - as if it's the food that's the attraction!

How can you love JKR enough to want to meet her but you’ve never heard of the charity she started?

As a point of interest. How are they getting the info of who has donated, as there wasn’t anywhere to opt in/ opt out of your details going to a third party? KFC with JKR would actually be beyond surreal and a great night I have no doubt!!!!!

I mean, it IS Il Portico, and that’s absolutely amazing, so it is a teeny bit the food. (I’ve been saving up to go, it’s out of my league usually)

I donate to Lumos every year on my Mum’s birthday and on Mother’s Day so that someone gets something positive from her being in the world, even though she died. Mum would like that.

I am normally pretty comfortable in any company but I think I'd have to decline the dinner - there is a significant risk that I would end up spending the whole evening proclaiming my undying love to JKR and repeatedly telling her that I love her.

Maybe she is a fan of JKR’s books? Or focused on women’s rights only?
