Guess we'll finally find out whether Imane Khelif is female or not. I suspect he will avoid the testing "out of principle" 🤭

I posted something along the lines of, "This is where trans inclusion has got us, this is a man" on SM.

Here is the reply I got, from someone with a science PhD

This post is a lot of conspiracy theory nonsense.
It's flat out false that trans women have any particular advantage over cis women in sports — time and time again they've competed quite without incident and done no better than anyone else. This issue is completely made up, as is the idea that men are posing as trans women to sneak into bathrooms, and whatever other nonsense the "gender critical" dimwits have invented since then. The whole thing is a big stupid conspiracy theory, and perhaps the best proof of that is that they keep going after Imane Khelif, a woman who is not in fact trans.
It's not that she "doesn't claim to be trans", she is simply not trans. She's Algerian, for crying out loud. It's illegal to be gay in Algeria. I promise you that nobody in Algeria is transitioning and then being put on the national Olympic team. It's ridiculous, and nobody who'd done even ten seconds of honest research would believe it.
Do you know why this all started? Imane Khelif won a boxing match against a Russian boxer, so the now-discredited, Russian-run IBA fabricated a medical test to disqualify her, as a pretext to invalidate the result. That's all it ever was: common or garden Russian state corruption.
Meanwhile, the terfs had a problem, becuase they'd been banging on for years about how trans women have a biological advantage in sports over cis women, and it was becoming increasingly embarrassing that no study had ever borne this out and trans competitors just weren't doing especially well. They were pretty desperate for someone, anyone, they could point to as an example of a trans woman dominating a sport because it was starting to become clear they were taking utter rubbish. They'd already resorted to picking on black runners with flat chests and just kind of speculating that they probably had high testosterone because they didn't look like JK Rowling's idea of what a perfect woman should be. It hadn't gone down well, it was too obviously racist, and sexist, and, well, just stupid.
So you can imagine that when they saw a report of a trans boxer knocking out a cis woman, well, that was too good to pass up. Who cares that it's demonstrably not true? It turns out that if you give JK Rowling a direct choice between siding with the Russian propaganda machine, and passing up an opportunity to attack trans people for no reason, she's going to go Russia every time. That shouldn't be a surprise — in her unending quest to attack trans people, she's already gone as far as to deny Nazi war crimes. These are not people you should listen to or take seriously. They're bigoted conspiracy theorists.
That's why the best example of a trans woman winning a sport they can come up with is a woman who is not trans. Because it's all made up. It's bullshit concocted by the far right to scare you, and if you let them have their way on trans rights then it will be immigrants and abortion rights next, because these monsters are never satisfied.
Trans people just want to live their lives. They want to go to the pub and be allowed to use the bathroom. They want to play the sports they love. They want to exist in the world without being attacked.
Just leave them alone.

Well I guess I'm out as a TERF to friends and family now.

Sweet lord prior to the olympic scandal I used to use men boxing women as a test to see if TWAW folx really believed that men can be women and every single person I asked either ignored my question or undermined their own position by admitting that in that circumstance there needed to be a distinction. But here we have it. Identity is more important than biology even if it puts women at risk of serious injury/ death.

Identity is more important than biology even if it puts women at risk of serious injury/ death.

It has taken this whole trans debate for me to realise how little women are valued by by society at large.

nauticant · 03/06/2025 08:48

I view the argument that Khelif isn't trans as a distinction without a difference.

BezMills · 03/06/2025 08:50

In terms of fairness and safety it amounts to the same.

nauticant · 03/06/2025 08:51

Which are after all the most significant factors to determine entry into women's sports.

None of their reply matters. IK is either male or female. Testing has confirmed that IK is male (and most likely has a DSD that only males can have). Reality doesn't need people to believe in it, it carries on being real regardless.

Unless the PHD person is asserting that the Russians have somehow altered IKs genes with CRISPR (or similar) what has Russia got to do with IK actually being male? That would be the mad conspiracy theory nonsense that the PHD person is desperately reaching for.

TheKeatingFive · 03/06/2025 08:53

The issue is men in women's sports. Whatever form that happens to take.

NecessaryScene · 03/06/2025 08:53

I view the argument that Khelif isn't trans as a distinction without a difference.

That argument, such as it was, ignored DSDs, and seems to be equating "not trans" and "female" - Khelif isn't trans because Khelif is female.

(Because the lab report is an IBA forgery.)

TheKeatingFive · 03/06/2025 08:55

The other thing I don't understand in all this is the painting of the IBA is totally 'corrupt' while the IOC is sweetness and light. The IOC has been involved in multiple scandals over the years.

Never any acknowledgement of the impact on the women whose bathrooms and sports they want to infiltrate, hmm?

Astonishing interview with Joanne Lockwood here. Martin Daubney repeatedly asserting the emperor has no clothes, while Lockwood discredits his lying eyes.

Fuck. We are in a dire time in life where we have a male 'inclusion culture' person being given a voice saying absolute bollocks. One who demands that they are referred to as a woman as a male person and then tries to demand the language used for a male boxer who competed as a female person. Who never once admitted that if Khelif is finally proven to be a male person then there is a significant issue. And that no male boxer should be in the ring with female boxers. It was just an opportunity for Lockwood to try to dictate acceptance without exception (unless Khelif publicly releases a test result I would think) for Khelif and that male people can be weak enough to compete with female people so we should let them.

NotBadConsidering · 03/06/2025 09:12

So Russia went to all this trouble to dupe the world because Khelif beat a Russian once? Crikey indeed, and that person thinks it’s us who are blind. Bonkers.

I don't even think the timings stack up with that interpretation.

And it doesn't explain the testing of the Taiwanese boxer either.

I find Imane Khelif utterly terrifying.

I laughed when, after quite a long period of hearing a man’s voice, the interviewer cuts in with, “So, Joanne, do you think…”

Joanne, indeed.

CassOle · 03/06/2025 09:27

Joanne clearly has a lot of investment in controlling the speech of others - specifically chosen pronouns - I wonder why that could be?

Is Joanne really pushing for biology to be considered a belief system? I couldn't watch the whole interview as I am allergic to arsehole men - and I don't mean the interviewer.

ThatCyanCat · 03/06/2025 09:44

PhDs can also be astoundingly dishonest as well as thick.

SabrinaThwaite · 03/06/2025 09:48

Anyone can identify as having a PhD.

They'd already resorted to picking on black runners with flat chests and just kind of speculating that they probably had high testosterone

Did the eejit just compare Khelif with Semenya, who is most definitely on public record as being a 46XY ard male?

Operation let them speak indeed.

sashh · 03/06/2025 10:01

I've had another reply.

It is pure Stonewall bollox. I replied with a couple of questions and then sent an article from PubMed that discusses the actual affects of HRT on trans women. I'm sure he is supposed to be working.

sashh · 03/06/2025 10:10

@SabrinaThwaite He actually does have a PHD. and Works for a uni in a STEM department. Apparently most STEM people support 'Trans Rights'.

I've asked a few questions which he has ignored.

CassOle · 03/06/2025 10:25

I wouldn't bother as they sound completely unteathered from reality, but you could ask if IK has the same condition as Erik Schinegger. The video does use the outdated 'intersex' but Eric does get to explain what happened to him.
