I knew you'd all be keen to hear them.

"It is the responsibility of a feminist to be progressive, to learn from previous waves but to always be pushing towards a new one. “Feminism must be intersectional. Feminism must not be used to bully and berate both cis women and trans people.”

It is beginning to look like he is trying to goad JKR into suing him. To what end, I'm not sure, but it can only be about getting attention and trying to make her look bad.

Why is he attacking an individual woman over this? Who is totally unrelated to the organisation involved?

And it wasn’t the EHRC which tried to stop the protest anyway but their landlord from what that says?
If the protest was being conducted legally then of course it should be allowed. What a weird idea of ‘a hell of a beating’. Confused

DrudgeJedd · 04/06/2025 07:56

Victory video
In his head she's his nemesis. Watch the vein-popping, finger-wagging video, he needs an intervention. Quite funny to screenshot though, 😁
Sorry for the duplicate pics

The EHRC has 'gone rogue', he says.

TBH, the pettiness of this daft stunt isn't what bothers me. It's the violent, aggressive language, directed at a woman whom is publically known as a survivor of male abuse and violence.

As we used to be told in school, "when you point your finger at your neighbour, there are three fingers pointing back at you".

If his little gang of ninnies want to 'have a voice', could they perhaps start by making legible posters. Teeny tiny writing on brown card is like muttering their message beside a busy road.

DeanElderberry · 04/06/2025 08:10

on the other hand

DontStopMe · 04/06/2025 08:13

He's totally lost it. And he's heading for Donald Trump levels of orangeness.

teawamutu · 04/06/2025 08:15

I really don't think he's very well.

Frantic attempts to ignore the utter hash he made of piloting three daughters safely through adolescence, so badly that two of them have tried to opt out of womanhood?

Kate Nash's lyrical ability as demonstrate in her new song can be seen here:

https://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/katenash/germ.html

That rant is meant to be lyrics?

Tracey Chapman she ain't.

SinnerBoy · 04/06/2025 08:29

Crikey, that fact free ranting on BS is quite something! Are they all Reddit refugees?

As for Nash, I don't know who she is. She seems to be rather disconnected from reality, rather like the article. It states, uncritically, that the BMA says that understanding sex is "scientifically illiterate," no attempt to look into who said it and why, or that the vast majority of doctors rolled their eyes at it.

ArabellaScott · 04/06/2025 08:31

The lyrics are also misleading. Nash states 90% of sexual assaults are 'cis' men, tacitly implying 10% are trans identifying males.

In fact there is no data on sex offenders disaggregated by gender identity.

That's just getting utterly bizarre. 'Your lot'? What the hell is he on?

He’s dangerously obsessed now, all his perceived evils are JKR’s fault, someone needs to step in. I feel so sorry for his poor children.

If he’s the example to them of what men are like, I guess opting out must seem quite appealing, those poor girls.

LadyBracknellsHandbagg · 04/06/2025 09:07

His use of violent language towards women is becoming really disturbing, last week he said the ‘knives were out’ for Baroness Falkner of the EHRC and now he’s saying directly to JKR ‘your lot took a hell of a beating’. He’s surely inciting violence towards any women who disagree with him, it’s alarming.

Man guilty of beating an animal to death.
Uses aggressive and violent language and imagery.
Harasses and hounds women.
Two daughters decide they aren't actually female after all.

It’s going to end in disaster isn’t it? It’s just a matter of how bad it will be.

"Your lot took a hell of a beating" to a woman who has been on the front page of many newspapers talking about her experience of physical domestic abuse.
He needs less self-regard and more self awareness.

BernardBlacksMolluscs · 04/06/2025 09:36

yeah, he’s not at all well is he?

I do wonder if some realisation of what he and his wife have done to their daughters is tapping his subconscious on the shoulder

JamieCannister · 04/06/2025 09:42

Obviously this thread has a very alid purpose, but I can't help note that every time I see the thread title "Mr Maugham shares his thoughts on feminism" my brain responds with "I literally cannot think of a single thing on planet earth I am less interested in that Mr Maugham's thoughts on feminism. Literally nothing. OK, there might be some things equally uninteresting, but literally nothing less interesting.

Whilst we are on topic of songs;

Sofia isella is looking like a fantastic new talent. No idea on her views on gender identity but she sure has written some moving pieces about misogyny.

Check out ‘the doll people’

She's amazing. Unlike Kate who.

Datun · 04/06/2025 10:12

I doubt very much if the landlord was politically motivated.

He or she just didn't want a bunch of shouting, ranting men on the doorstep. Especially since the protest du jour seems to involve men pissing on everything, vandalising property and stripping off their clothes.

And I hope JK comes back with a comment that requires JM to explain why he thinks the landlord's got anything to do with her.

i'd like to watch how he tries to explain a plausible link

Checked this out, it's not my cup of tea but good lyrics. Interesting when taken alongside the current 'protect the dolls' stuff.

The lyrics are also misleading. Nash states 90% of sexual assaults are 'cis' men, tacitly implying 10% are trans identifying males.

In fact there is no data on sex offenders disaggregated by gender identity.

If that's true, it would mean that TW are hugely overrepresented in sexual assaults because they don't comprise 10% of the male population.

Is she actually stupid? I thought she was just annoying, talentless and derivative.
