Feminism: Sex and gender discussions

Is this a ‘what do we want?’ ‘No idea’ protest or are they actually campaigning for 3rd spaces? If it’s the latter then that’s great news!

Helleofabore · 22/05/2025 17:24

From the article:

We need to move the conversation on from ridiculous things like bathrooms and onto the things that matter. And that is the safety of trans people everywhere.

Oh dear.... Ridiculous things like 'bathrooms' (or is that toilets???) are part of the conversation about the safety of WOMEN & GIRLS everywhere!

Operation: Let them speak!

So much for these male people being 'women' eh? Not a care for the needs of female people at all.

EmpressaurusKitty · 22/05/2025 17:25

Things that matter like rape crisis centres, changing rooms, hospital wards & prisons? OK.

Boiledbeetle · 22/05/2025 17:26

The question at the heart of their campaign is “where, exactly, are trans people supposed to go?

I'm so sick of their whinging. I've got a few suggestions to where are they supposed to go. They wouldn't like them though.

So, if they (finally) want third spaces because they feel unable to use the correct toilet already provided for them then they can campaign their little hearts out for just that.

In the meantime the trans identifying men can keep out of the womens.

I suggest they book a nice holiday to Egypt. Perhaps then they might, just might, realise how good they have it here and stfu

eqpi4t2hbsnktd · 22/05/2025 17:39

Any campaign to bring about more toilets - very welcomed...

NPET · 22/05/2025 18:25

"Where are Trans people supposed to go?"
Well, here's a revolutionary idea: how about everyone with a p "goes" in the Gents, everyone with a v "goes" in the Ladies?

The fact they've chosen to use an actual toilet to suggest the conversation needs to 'move on' from toilets is interesting.

I thought this was going to be an actual portaloo. Now that would have been useful for transpeople concerned about having nowhere to go.

But I guess that is too simple a solution for them.

Glad they are reinforcing the need for third spaces though.

Because some men have a body modification to resemble a 'v'.

andtheworldrollson · 22/05/2025 18:40

If you modified your body you clearly know what type you are

lechiffre55 · 22/05/2025 18:51

I wonder if they left the seat up like men do ? :)

SerafinasGoose · 22/05/2025 18:54

Bet Marcel Duchamp alias R Mutt is shitting himself.

YourAmplePlumPoster · 22/05/2025 18:58

Is there no end to this crap mainly performed by trendy lefties?

WallaceinAnderland · 22/05/2025 19:05

It's enough to drive U round the bend.

Merrymouse · 22/05/2025 19:27

Their problem is that they already have the answers to all these questions.

Where services are segregated by sex, use the service for your sex. If this is means you can't use the service for any reason, steps should be taken to reasonably accommodate your needs, e.g. unisex provision where possible.

Trans people have the same rights to safety, privacy and dignity as everyone else and this has not changed.

MarieDeGournay · 22/05/2025 19:45

Fourth space. It's a fourth space. The accessible toilet is the third space. Funny how disabled people's rights just fade into nothingness in their campaign, isn't it?

MrsOvertonsWindow · 22/05/2025 19:56

There's an irony that the head of Translucent organised protests outside women's conferences like FILIA where Steph's mates felt emboldened to issue threats of sexual violence against women. Yet Steph thinks women should welcome these abusers into single sex spaces with women and girls.

That's where spending your time trying to silence & threaten women gets you Steph - peeing in a toilet on the steps outside the Supreme Court.
You've got what you deserve. 😂

You know he stole that artwork? From a woman.

Sadly this is exactly what you’d expect from people who spend all their time thinking about themselves. ALL their time.

SerafinasGoose · 22/05/2025 20:19

Kinell. Is nothing sacred?

Actually, given the century-later debacle over women's bogs, forget I asked that ....

YorkshirePuddingsGreatestFan · 22/05/2025 20:34

about being forced to exist without safety, privacy, and rights, in full view of a society that refuses to see us; a demand for legal clarity, human dignity, and real, lived safety for all trans people

On the other hand if we allow biological men into woman's facilities, then women are forced to exist without safety, privacy and rights, in full view of dominant males that refuse to see us. We demanded legal clarity for our human dignity and real lived safety for all women.

BiologicalRobot · 22/05/2025 20:39

The question at the heart of their campaign is “where, exactly, are trans people supposed to go?”

I guess they "forgot" to read the very clear judgment that was quite specific on that subject. Total numpties 🙄

DuesToTheDirt · 22/05/2025 20:44

You would think that these males had never stepped foot in a men's toilet, it seems to be so traumatic for them to even contemplate such a thing. But of course they all did, in most cases for years and years, before they decided they were really women and couldn't possibly use the men's.
