India not happy with JKR drawing a line. Very aggressive.

Jo, you are bitter and twisted. A modern-day Miss Havisham. Bought court. You know it - I know it. I will always be more of a woman than you. The way you and your ghastly gang pretend to be the voice of all women is disgusting. And a joke. Along with the fact your daily sick bullying of women is completely ignored by UK media. You represent the Gender Critical movement - not women. I hope your boat sinks. Go fuck yourself. Trash.

India's use of his not inconsiderable media platform, media that has very much been in the thrall of trans activism and guaranteed to give him special victim status, is not someone who is being punched down upon. He is the one punching down at de-plaformed/cancelled/ignored women. JKR is merely giving us women a voice. Which she didn't have to do, and as a once feted lefty, has done so to her cost. And she has been incredibly patient. Now she appears to have no more fucks to give in the face of this continued male bleating, slander and threats of violence. And good on her for not sitting in silence, but facing it off with intelligent reposte and a bit of blunt humour. Women have had enough of this shit.

💯

'Apart from his constant attacks on women, didn't India say Iive on national TV, that we should put barbed wire in the Channel to drown migrants? Lovely bloke.'

Yes. India wanted to emulate Trump and suggested that the UK 'go down the Trump route'...

@BunfightBetty "JKR has not been punching down. She has been punching up. Women are the oppressed class. Men (of which India is one) are the oppressor class."

It hinges on how you choose to see India - Unpleasant, yes, nasty, certerainly, vicious and the rest.

But I won't deny her the agency of choosing her own identity.

If you see her as a woman, her own description and choice, then Rowling's (and others) comments are punching down. TRANS people are currently very much oppressed.

JKR could have chosen a different path. God knows she has the resources. She didn't, and the image of a rich, powerful person lashing out on a vulnerable person, no matter what the provocation, is abhorrent.

However, now she reaps the harvest of own her sowing - widespread oprobium and mockery. Where once she stood tall and bright as a princess of prose now she is mocked, derided and rejected.

A shame, a shame on her and those that parrot her opressive views.

'If you see her as a woman'

I can no more see a man as a woman then I can pretend a sincere belief in Zoroastrianism.

I'm sure JKR doesn't give a fuck about being a 'princess of prose', because she's a phenomenally successful author.

PetaltotheMedal · 21/05/2025 15:21

TRANS people are currently very much oppressed.

In what way @1MnaAthCliath , can you give some examples?

Well with that sort of melodramatic rubbish, nobody is going to mistake you for the Prince/Princess of Prose.

We don't see India as a woman. He's the Prince of Pose. Posing as a woman to persuade the gullible to give him special status. All the while, he preaches violence and slander from his bully pulpit. Just like any other unpleasant bloke who doesn't like the word, "no".

Trans people oppressed? Here, in the UK? No. Not one bit.

If you see her as a woman

He isn't, though, and that's the whole point. His version of womanhood requires everyone around him to reflect his self image rather it being an innate and objective material fact. That's the problem with transgenderism. It sets up a lie, that a man is a woman, and then tries to force everything external to it to reflect that lie and will not let anyone refuse. He can regard himself as a woman if he likes but he can't force the rest of us to play along. We aren't responsible for his self image. That's why it's called self image.

The rest of the post is just purple prose. It may have sounded good in your head (I can tell it isn’t ChatGPT because of the spelling errors) but it's meaningless and pompous.

So much here that is completely upside down untruths.

India can think of himself any way he pleases. He can see himself as a woman, a dog, or a blue felt-tip pen. Or anything else. His own delusions are his own delusions. However, he is, has always been, and will remain forever a male. That is material fact.

Well-adjusted, psychologically health adults are able to recognise facts and the world as it is,and operate to facts and the world as it is, not as they would wish it to be. We can’t let fantasy rule.

India is male. A member of the oppressor class. And a middle-class, white male at that. Quite literally, a member of the most privileged group on the face of the planet. He doesn’t get to tell a lie that acts as a magic wand to get the rest of us believing he’s the underdog. You might buy the lie. More fool you. I’m not so gullible.

Quite how you can possibly assert (presumably with a straight face?) that trans people are very much oppressed is astonishing. Where do you live? Because in the UK and much of the western democracies at least, trans people have held a disproportionate amount of political power for some years. Despite being a tiny majority, they have managed to appropriate extra rights, over and above the rights enjoyed by others of their sex. If you feel opposite, open your eyes and ears.

Moreover, by allowing males to appropriate womanhood, actual women - the actual oppressed group - have seen their rights and safety eroded.

Try using your intellect instead of overly-emoting with the oppressors.

And no, JKR is not widely derided. Are there pockets of lefty-types (of which I am one), who see it as part of the Omnicause to hate on JKR? Sure. There are some who actually believe as you do. Who favour emotion over fact (but only when that emotion and emoting is focused on centring males, not females). But the majority don’t. Lots of people recognise misogyny when they see it and it’s clear to them that deriding JKR for her tone falls squarely within misogyny. Shame you don’t see that.

Edited for typo.

Well quite, that’s because she isn’t one. If I identify as the Queen can I walk into Buckingham palace?

DialSquare · 21/05/2025 15:32

Lets be honest, no one sees IW as a woman. Not even himself. If TWAW, the majority of them wouldn't be upset about the Supreme Court Clarification.

CigarettesAndLoveBites · 21/05/2025 15:33

'If you see her as a woman'

I don't see India as a woman and, more importantly, neither does the law.

CarefulN0w · 21/05/2025 15:34

India “let that penetrate” Willoughby is the one aggressively punching down. His viscous behaviour towards Amanda Barrie, an older, smaller female, was stand out male aggression.

As I missed out on the SC I’m saving up for the House of Lords. Going to buy me an overturning of the GRA and bring back the stocks for anyone who leaves the toilet seat up.

I’d identify as the King, if I were you. More wealth and power.

I mean, if we are able to identify as anything we are not, what’s stopping you? Anyone who disagrees and tries to stop you is just a bigot and deserves to lose their livelihood.

ThatCyanCat · 21/05/2025 15:35

If India truly thought he was a woman, he wouldn't be so furious that other people don't. If you thought I wasn't a woman, I might be offended if you meant that I was ugly, but it wouldn't mean a thing in terms of actual biological reality. That's objective and material.

You cannot decide that you are something you are not and demand that everyone "see" you that way and never in any way let on that they don't. That's thoughtcrime.

Newsflash

It doesn't matter what JKR or IW see IW as.

IW still IS a man.

It is neither punching up or down to observe reality.

Observing reality is an act of neutrality.

JustFeedMeCake · 21/05/2025 15:36

IW really is a horrible spiteful little man. Transwomen are not oppressed but they are oppressive and a lot are violent and JKR is a legend. My view. My f&f view.

WinterTrees · 21/05/2025 15:40

Wait, backtracking a bit (sorry if it's already been raised) but Willoughby claims to have been using women's toilets since he was 14??

Willoughby, who was a TV newsreader called Jonathan, who was married and fathered a son and didn't transition until (according to Wikipedia) he was 50 YEARS OLD, was using women's toilets for all that time? Have I got that right?

If so... WHAT. THE. FUCK?

RedToothBrush · 21/05/2025 15:40

Btw...

'If you see her as a woman'

Gives away your bias. And also highlights why false pronouns are not a neutral act and are misleading and regressive.

They allow the falsification of reality and prevent the observation of reality from being framed as neutral.

It's twisted and it helps precisely no one whether they are a woman, man or trans.

It is important we observe sex for many very neutral purposes.
