'She started the hearing by applying for an adjournment for a psychiatric report to show that Wallis had been experiencing a "psychotic breakdown" during her police interview.
"For the period of incarceration he was doing bizarre things," said Ms Bahra. "The officers are trying engage with him but for the whole period he is obsessed with crisps.
"The second part of the interview takes part in the cell. He is covering his body with a blanket and there is a bunch of rubbish in front of him. He doesn't engage."'

Wallis, of Windlass Court in Butetown, Cardiff, stood in the dock wearing a blouse and cardigan, with pink nails and a Louis Vuitton-style handbag. In the basis of plea she admitted harassment using phone communications between February 14 and March 21 in Cardiff but the allegation she had driven past her home was dropped.
Ms Bahra said Wallis had twice tried to take her own life and twice been sectioned in recent months. She added that the period of harassment coincided with her gender transition and that Wallis had been struggling with mental health issues including gender dysphoria.
The case was adjourned to July 14 for sentencing following a psychiatric report to "look at issues involving gender dysphoria", the court heard.
On a previous court date the court had heard Wallis and Ms Lovell were in a relationship for more than 15 years and divorced in 2024.
"The Crown will say that following the victim informing the defendant of a new relationship the defendant's behaviour has become harassing in nature," said prosecutor Simone Walsh. "The frequency, nature, and contents of the messages and voicemails amounted to harassment of the victim. Despite being arrested on February 28 and released on police bail the defendant has continued to send messages to the victim."
In that hearing, Ms Bahra said her client's mental health had "spiralled" and that there was no intent to harass. She added: "The complainant has chosen what messages to provide to police and she hasn't provided the full exchange with Dr Wallis [Katie Wallis].
"Dr Wallis was going through a very important stage of his transition process, which was to come out full-time, and the complainant took issue with that. The complainant did not want Dr Wallis to come out full-time as transgender. This involved announcing himself as a woman to the world and dressing as a woman full-time.”
Ms Bahra added that her client saw her ex-wife as her “only emotional support” and that this was the reason she was “reaching out to her”.'
