Just saw this:

Helen Joyce @ HJoyceGender
Morning all! Guess where I'm off to this fine day - Broadcasting House to discuss the @ ForWomenScot judgment, 4 weeks on, on @ BBCWomansHour! Do listen in. I'm looking forward to debunking some shocking disinformation, and reminding an astonished world that Women Have Rights Too

[EDIT]

Yes, I know I put "Women's" instead of "Woman's" in the title

The whole point of bringing male children into the women's toilets with their mothers is because of the men in the men's toilets.

MelOfTheRoses · 14/05/2025 10:31

Amnesty on Friday - I don't suppose they will be publishing the evidence they put before the SC?

What does little boys going to the loo with their mum have to do with grown men being allowed to put on a wig and go into the ladies? Do these fucking idiots ever hear themselves? Has common sense and protecting tiny children completely gone out the window?

The lights are on but no one's home.

littlbrowndog · 14/05/2025 10:32

Bet amnesty will get the special bbc voice

Sausagenbacon · 14/05/2025 10:32

The presenter doesn't hide her bias, does she!
I hope at some point, Feedback is going to cover the BBC's coverage of these issues.

Greyskybluesky · 14/05/2025 10:32

Looking forward to LGBA

WinterTrees · 14/05/2025 10:32

The VAST majority of WH listeners will be baffled by the weird focus on spelling out the difference between blokes in non-gender conforming clothing in women's toilets and little boys in there with their mothers. We all fucking KNOW that and feel the difference on a primitive, instinctive way, and anyone who tries to imply it's the same thing or use it as a gotcha is going to arouse deep, deep suspicion, no matter how kind the woman wants to be.

whatthefennel · 14/05/2025 10:33

That was brilliant from Helen but so frustrating that Nuala cut her off just as she was explaining why bringing a small male child into the ladies loo isn't the gotcha that trans activists like to think it is.

Exactly. Nobody ever asks about dads taking their little girls into the men's. They're (supposedly!) safe in the ladies because there's no men there!

Me too. Helen Joice was an absolute Queen 🙂

ThatsNotMyTeen · 14/05/2025 10:33

You know you’ve really lost the argument when you think your gotcha is pre pubescent boys going into the loo with their mum.

It’s Anita so that’s a given.

Just listened now. I don't know how Helen stays so calm when dealing with people with that presenter's attitude. For something called 'Women's hour'' the presenter doesn't seem to see women's side at all!

terryleather · 14/05/2025 10:34

Ereshkigalangcleg · 14/05/2025 10:31

Amnesty on Friday, LGBA on Monday. Audible relief from presenter now it’s over!

Yup, she couldn’t put an end to it fast enough!

Exactly. It was all about the men and their sadness

nauticant · 14/05/2025 10:34

I'll say what I said the other day. Within the constraints she'd be operating within at the BBC, I thought that was reasonable in terms of the challenges made by Nuala McGovern.

Beowulfa · 14/05/2025 10:34

Just imagine if we had politicians who spoke with such gravitas and factual logic on issues they had researched thoroughly.

lcakethereforeIam · 14/05/2025 10:35

Are Amnesty going to be part of this apparent appeal to the ECHR?

I agree. Any link planted in people minds, no matter how tenuous or innocent between trans women and small boys is not going to help their cause.

BettyBooper · 14/05/2025 10:35

That was such a clear example of the utter brainwashing that has gone on. The presenter trying every which way to find a 'gotcha' as to how men can actually be women. Because a man told her so on Monday.

NoFineBalance · 14/05/2025 10:35

Women's Hour needs to be renamed.

JasmineAllen · 14/05/2025 10:35

Wouldn't that be great.

Yes you sum it up perfectly. The presenter was acting as if this was so complicated? It's been happening since forever and women understand the necessity! Little boys are not men!

IamEarthymama · 14/05/2025 10:36

You think that you love and admire Helen Joyce.
Then you hear her deal with the inept presenter on WH and you realise that you love and admire her even more!
What was the presenter doing?

TheSandgroper · 14/05/2025 10:36

Do you think they went around the office offering everyone an opportunity to ask “but what about …?” and then included all the inanities in the interview?

Off to listen to Monday’s episode.

On a side note, File on 4 is coming up straight after and talking to a British Gisele Pelicot. I am preparing to be to be deeply horrified. Between this episode and the one on the stages of male violence a few weeks ago , File on 4 is doing great work.
