Just saw this:

Helen Joyce @ HJoyceGender
Morning all! Guess where I'm off to this fine day - Broadcasting House to discuss the @ ForWomenScot judgment, 4 weeks on, on @ BBCWomansHour! Do listen in. I'm looking forward to debunking some shocking disinformation, and reminding an astonished world that Women Have Rights Too

[EDIT]

Yes, I know I put "Women's" instead of "Woman's" in the title

I think it is quite good leaving time since the judgement and being on after RMW.

It gives Helen the ability to debunk all the rubbish that has been spouted since, whereas being interviewed the day after would have been all 'it's wonderful' but then buried by the disinformation campaigns.

I agree, though I doubt it was planned. It would be encouraging if it was.

Amazing!!!!!

AmaryllisNightAndDay · 14/05/2025 08:06

AmaryllisNightAndDay · 14/05/2025 08:14

(Isn't it "Women's Hour"? Learn something new every day on MumsNet! 😁)

SternJoyousBee · 14/05/2025 08:21

Fabulous! Helen speaks so clearly on this topic I hope she manages to peak some listeners.

Bluebellspringtime · 14/05/2025 08:22

About bloody time. Go for it Helen. Well all be listening, and cheering at our radios.

Vegemiteandhoneyontoast · 14/05/2025 08:24

Blimey, never thought I'd see the day!

CriticalCondition · 14/05/2025 08:24

Brilliant! I've got my Sex Matters mug out ready for a toast to truth and reality.

UrsulasHerbBag · 14/05/2025 08:29

Fantastic!

BellissimoGecko · 14/05/2025 08:30

@Lottapianos
She's a brilliant communicator

She really is. Not bad for a mathematician 😉

Me too 😊

I can scarcely believe it. Next stop Question Time, HIGNFY.....QI? I'll definitely be listening. Thanks for the heads up.

I appreciate every sane voice that has a platform in relation to women’s rights but for me HJ is THE person with the ability to articulate the arguments most powerfully.

Her knowledge is second to none and her intellect is extraordinary. Every time I hear her speak I want to give her a standing ovation!

dubaichocolate · 14/05/2025 09:28

I hope they’re going to provide a listening day for those in the BBC who will struggle with HJ being on air.

TAs get RMW [great at peaking just by speaking] and we get Helen. A win right there !

"great at peaking just by speaking"

I just love this line!

Swallowdoubleandrunamile · 14/05/2025 09:37

Finally!!

Ereshkigalangcleg · 14/05/2025 09:40

Can’t wait for this.

wrongthinker · 14/05/2025 09:52

Excellent!

Redshoeblueshoe · 14/05/2025 09:53

I hope they notice a boost in listener numbers. I stopped listening years ago. Obviously I will this morning.

MrsOvertonsWindow · 14/05/2025 09:54

Glad the BBC finally found her phone number. Presumably there'll be a drag queen alongside Helen for "BBC balance"? 🙄

LittleBitofBread · 14/05/2025 09:55

I have to go out at 10.30. Hope she's on before then!

Boiledbeetle · 14/05/2025 10:00

I'm ready and waiting.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 14/05/2025 10:01

She’s on early according to her Twitter
