The point is that all that was achieved by a tiny number of highly restrained, cunning activists.

They keep harping on about money, being well-funded - um, no-o! I've flung a few tenners into the various crowdfunders, and I expect I'm a fairly average contributor.

I've added an image of the one I find particularly DARVO - apparently we're well-connected, have been "infiltrating disproportionately powerful and influential scenes and building direct, personal relationships with power".

Yes dear; that's why we've had to fight against every political party, every police force, every newspaper (they would only report trans as victims never perpetrators), IPSO who insisted newspaper never mention trans except as victims and use preferred pronouns (or else!), the NHS, government departments, academia, local government, schools, colleges and universities. And banks, retailers, film, tv, theatres and libraries. (Did I miss any of the captured institutions? Oh yes, the fucking census!)

Fascinating thread. Shall we have a hands up who in here has a fulltime job, kids of assorted ages, a house and a side order of elderly parents. If they read the bit of leftwing press we do have in the UK, they’d also know women in middle age have higher rates of disabilities then men in this age group and are usually poorer by quite some margin. Again, hands up who took a career break, went part time, lost their pension contributions or most of their wage as it was the one which had to be used ‘for the childcare’, or gave up on a career path so they could work flexibly.

Because this is the reality of all of my middle class and middle aged friends, all of them. Possibly the most time poor people I know and in precarious financial positions.

What we do have in common is a good education as women since the 1980s have tended to have higher levels of educational attainment and have outperformed men.

But of course, they only deal in truths.

I guess what we have has evolved. We do now have some salaried women fighting our corner. They would have been working on other things, but transactivists lost them the jobs they used to have.

Just got to look at the pictures outside the courthouse when it was announced. All those celebrating with champagne were housewives of the wealthy or those who’ve taken (very) early retirement

crikey. you see I saw a diverse bunch of intelligent professional women from a variety of back grounds and with all sorts of other views, united by the knowledge that sex is real and sometimes important. and this reddit poster saw housewives and retired people. isn't it funny how differently we all see the world?
