It's wild to me that they can't see that the media, government, institutions etc have been (and to varying extents still are) on their side! They had the prime minister of the UK saying that a non-zero percentage of women had penises. Labour had self-ID in their manifesto and Theresa May's government unsuccessfully tried to introduce it in 2016. Stonewall was hugely influential and women were fired for daring to voice their opinions. They had all that and still failed because TWAW is fundamentally not true.

The cognitive dissonance is just mind boggling.

I find trans Reddit equal parts amusing, sad and terrifying. I often want to post on there but there's really no point. I don't think they're capable of having a discussion about this issue. I've seen lately them saying "your comfort doesn't trump my rights". There's really no GC argument they won't take and distort to desperately try and make it fit them (I won't say what sprung to my mind when I wrote that sentence but it was not flattering 🤭)

@PriOn1 I had planned to attend the last LWS event in Nottingham but I chickened out after watching footage of the event that was held a couple of months earlier. The TRA had already taken over the spot where KJK was going to set up, so they had to set up on the other side of the square. There was no police support or buffer zone either. The TRA were literally screaming in women's faces and jumping into the wall and banging drums next to where women were speaking.
They eventually took the meet to outside the local police station 😂
I'm not sure what happened at the event I was going to attend. I'll have to look that up.

Someone else completely unrelated (a YouTuber) stumbled across the TRA gathering and didn't realise what was going on. He had been invited to the LWS event but somehow confused the TRA with them. He spoke to several TRA and was initially sympathetic, but when he started asking questions they got paranoid, turned on him and he was physically attacked. I think he went from potential ally to Terf in about 60 seconds!

There was also the issue of my travelling to and from the event alone and fear of being followed by some rabid TRA after the meet.

I do hope to attend one day though.

I think there has been significant organisation. Groups such 'Sex Matters' , 'Transgender Trend', 'Legal Feminist' 'Labour Women's Declaration', The LGB
Alliance are now established, and earlier on local Resisters groups were impoortant in pushing back at local levels and raising consciousness.

The early 'A woman's Place' conferences and meetings were very important too.

The potential violence has to be a consideration for any woman. Also a reason I would never take the dog, even though he’s generally good with crowds and noise. The film where a TRA was shouting at a baby was a perfect illustration of how unhinged some objectors are.

There was also a video of a man who goes out and films police. I think he called himself the laughing auditor, or something along those lines. He came across some TRAs who were objecting to a small group of lesbians meeting and was also shocked and quickly peaked by their paranoia and anger. He was even more bemused at the end when the small group of utterly unthreatening lesbians filed out a short while later.

That was the very first thing I noticed about this movement a decade ago. It’s a TRA signature. I think they get a kick when they make the most outrageous DARVO they can pull off.

Trans Exclusionary Radical Feminist. In reality it means anyone who disagrees that men can actually become women or anything else the TRAs voice as fact.

Yes the Scots fella. I follow a few of these auditors and it was via his videos I started to see the behaviour of TRA's during their protests.
He filmed one protest they held outside the LGB alliance HQ. It was like some weird street party/daytime rave. The middle-aged women walked out afterwards and made a few humorous quips about the TRA's there

You make a valid point about TERFs infighting - the Tunnocks Teacakes v. Tunnocks Wafers split got quite ugly at one point.

Fortunately, the rift was healed by somebody saying 'A Tunnocks split! that sounds delicious!' so they split a Tunnocks wafer in half and filled it with smashed Tunnock Teacake and ice cream. Sprinkled with Tunnock crumb, and topped off with whipped cream. Then a bit more Tunnock crumb, then a bit more whipped cream, then somebody called halt.
