Greens internal drama warms up

New long article looking at the drama inside the Greens over biology suddenly existing again despite their best efforts.

How the Green Party forgot the environment and was torn apart by trans rows
It was a party united by a single mission – to save the planet. But now the gender identity debate has left it divided and in chaos

https://archive.is/TOlNx

The article is already out of date as Zack Polanski of hypnotic breasts fame has just launched a leadership bid against Deyner and Ramsey.

Emma Bateman
It's no secret that big boobs Polanski wants the top job. He is a student politics slogan churner, a self server who distains women and wants misgendering misdemeanours to be grounds for expulsion from the Greens.
He is "LGB with the T"
Still NO DEBATE!

Pro-women Greens article on his background:;
https://concernedgreens.uk/watchlist/zack-polanski/

The existence of biology is likely to be a significant part of the leadership contest for sure so interesting to watch .

Ali Shahrar has launched another legal challenge against the Greens. Gardening needed.

May 27th is the date for Emma Bateman's legal hearing against the Greens.

On May 27th I am in court against Green Party in a case which will expose the contorted lengths the Greens go to in order to shut women up.

It isn't going to go well for the Greens given the Supreme Court ruling. This could be key moment in seeing the ruling's effect on politics and directly impact the leadership contest. It will also be probably be infuriating and hilarious in equal measure.

A friend who knows (and personally likes) LRM says he was perfectly acceptable as a Brighton councillor, but the fact that he was ever an MP told you a lot about Labour having gone off the rails.

NasturtiumsAreUnderrated · 20/11/2025 19:07

I can't get past the way he behaved towards Rosie Duffield.

As someone who has supported green politics since I was a teenager (back in the Major era) it's so depressing that the UK green parties have only gone mainstream and garnered serious media attention after becoming red, rather than green and denying the very existence of women as a sex class.

At the moment I don't even have the motivation to keep explaining the difference between red and green and suggesting more constructive ways GPEW could exploit it's greater visibility and popularity.

cariadlet · 20/11/2025 20:32

He also showed nasty, bullying behaviour to Miriam Cates.

'Six pro-Palestine prisoners across the UK are now on hunger strike — demanding the right to a fair trial, an end to censorship, and the deproscription of Palestine Action. They’re being held without trial, while this govt continues to arm Israel’s genocide. Stand with them'

It has been pointed out what being remanded means, and it's not being 'held without trial'.

He comes across as a bit of a wazzock. But I'm not sure what he's meant to do about his teeth ? They look ok. Not Hollywood piano teeth but ok. His stubborness re the twaw stuff means one of two things.

  1. He's a bit thick.
  2. He knows it's all crap but he's trying to keep in with the activist base. Therefore has no real ambition to build a mass movement.
That would need millions of people , half of them women , to buy into the insanity.
SionnachRuadh · 20/11/2025 23:42

To be fair, GPEW members had a chance to vote for "slow and steady wins the race" and "let's establish the Greens as a serious party".

When they elected Zack, I don't think anyone foresaw that Lloyd would be part of the deal, but Lloyd is precisely the kind of Labour defector the GPEW will attract. And the members can always say "well, at least it wasn't Zarah Sultana."

Lalgarh · 20/11/2025 23:49

That's fairly standard. There's a couple comparing/adding Zelensky into that. I note he didn't add the link , perhaps BC it notes his Dad was An Landlord

Chersfrozenface · 20/11/2025 23:50

Until it is Zarah Sultana. Still, I expect they'll think of something even then.

SionnachRuadh · 21/11/2025 00:07

When it comes to a party full of rum characters, I didn't think UK politics could ever top the Liberal Party in the 1970s. But the Greens are having a fair old stab at it.

Lalgarh · 21/11/2025 00:09

Over on the Sultana/ Corbyn/ Your Party thread, a post from Gaza independent MP Mohammed Iqbal claimed Sultana had stipulated being given co leader status as a condition of her leaving Labour. Another Corbyn supporter then claimed she'd also made this same offer to the greens but they'd said she'd need to stand for election like anyone else.

This may or may not inform the not exactly comradely jibes she's been making at the greens as Not Working Class or Socialist Enough and also as complicit in war crimes BC they still support a 2 state solution

SionnachRuadh · 21/11/2025 00:22

I suppose the trouble with personality driven politics is that Zarah has alienated almost everyone in Your Party who anyone's heard of. That's why her eve of conference rally has an all-star lineup of... um... SWP national secretary Lewis Nielsen and Twitter user Max Shanly.

I don't think she even has Tariq Ali, and Tariq will go to the opening of an envelope.

Lloyd Russell Moyle might be a massive liability, but he's got enough functioning neurons to know that the Greens are at least a viable party and he's not wasting his time following his former comrades into YP.

Not a serious person.

And bet you he knows exactly which sex to go to when he wants to buy a baby. He won't be asking Paris or Munroe if they'd like hypnosis to grow a uterus.

Twat.

Agree, this is one of the points I raise when discussing things with work colleagues. I remind them Plaid Cymru is TWAW through and through. Then I ask when their leader Adam Price and his same sex partner had a child through surrogacy “how many transwomen did they consider for the role?”

When it affects him as a gay man he knows that TWAM but when it affects women TWAW 🤷‍♀️ in other words “look there’s a bus ➡️”

Personality politics, as a prevailing style, becomes a real problem when you can start a fight in an empty room.

I am not a huge fan of Corbyn, but if you've got a coalition full of contradictions, he works pretty well as a figurehead, because he really is this slightly vague old duffer who potters around making tea for everyone and being scrupulously polite.

Of course that all gets cancelled out if you make Violet Bott co-leader.

Hale is naturally conservative economically (small c) but socially liberal. All this talk about taxing wealthier people and Zack Polanski generally will be going down like a lead balloon. It's one of the most well off parts of the country so reform doing badly and the conservatives doing well isn't a huge surprise. I'd have been more surprised if the Green had retained the seat tbh.

SionnachRuadh · 21/11/2025 18:33

While the Greens nick a seat off Labour in Macclesfield with a huge swing, though in odd circumstances where the outgoing Labour candidate was nicked for assaulting his partner and is now in prison for perverting the course of justice.

Apparently one of those wards that's both affluent and left wing, so prime Green territory with a bit of a stink on Labour locally.

So in particular circumstances we're seeing the Greens pulling off big wins, but it looks very inconsistent so far.

cariadlet · 21/11/2025 18:42

The Greens had been hoping to take Ashdown and Conquest (East Sussex County Council) from the Conservatives but it went to Reform despite heavy leafletting from the Greens (Greens from nearby areas going over to Hastings) and also despite (or because of?) heavy pro-immigration and anti Reform leafletting by Stand Up To Racism.

SionnachRuadh · 21/11/2025 18:54

Ashdown & Conquest, East Sussex County Council

Ref: 797 (32.2%) New
Grn: 607 (24.5%) +16.4%
Con: 494 (19.9%) -39.8%
Lab: 395 (15.9%) -7.4%
LDm: 129 (5.2%) -3.5%
Ind: 55 (2.2%) New

Ref GAIN from Con

I'm going to guess that in a formerly very Tory ward, maybe the Rachel Millward approach would have paid off better than a Green-Trot campaign singing the praises of immigration.
