Welcome all. The booze here is minimally intoxicating, the food is calorie free and the staff are warm and cuddly. And if the thread title sounds nonsensical, blame the guy Myrtle was listening to this evening!

There's time to teach them about critical path analysis if the bakery business takes off.

They're already Agile.

I've realised that Bluestockingers are just as hilarious in other Feminism threads.

Particularly Why are TERFs so well organised co.pare to us?

We've reached a high of lemon drizzle cake.

Don't. Mention. Lemon. Drizzle. Cake. In. The. Bluestocking.

We may have to bribe the Council for the food hygiene certificate.

I'll get some of our far right millions out of the vault!

I think it will be fine.

Just popped out to the cashpoint, it's gone 8 on and it's connected to a Sainsbury's.

All that bloody talk of cake (the ginger one is eaten). Look what you made me do.

Brilliant Boily-Bargains.

JanesLittleGirl · 06/05/2025 21:13

I have a very soft spot for lemon drizzle cake - Poole Harbour.

ETA it doesn't have to be Poole Harbour. You can throw it in any stretch of water .

Or dustbin.

What's the problem with, erm, LDC? Other than it being a pale imitation of proper cake, which should always involve chocolate?

I personally have an aversion to lemon based deserts

Boiledbeetle · 06/05/2025 21:47

And limoncello

And limoncello

To be fair, that does irresistibly remind me of washing up liquid.

We know.

But it doesn't explain the aversion to cake. Would you be able to eat a lemon Tunnocks teacake?

I'd try it, and probably hate it.

I loved lemon polos though back in the 90s!

genandtonic · 06/05/2025 21:53

Or have a lemon in your gin and tonic?
May I say HOW CUTE all your wonderful gerbils and lions are. I may print them onto big sheets of paper and surround myself with them in a safe and cozy duvet nest.

Bollocks it's dessert not desert isn't it!

genandtonic · 06/05/2025 21:54

😂

genandtonic · 06/05/2025 21:56

I don’t even like the laughter emoji, it’s ugly. Need a smiling gerbil emoji.

Magpiecomplex · 06/05/2025 21:56

That's my attitude, Flower. Almost any cake is better than no cake. I draw the line at anything with coconut or dried fruit in, personally. But then <prepares to out self horribly> I never used to like mint, but subjected myself to an intensive re-education programme so I didn't have to miss out on the chocolate bit of After Eights.

I will admit I don't actually like tonic or gin either.

I'm a terrible person!

Give me a full fat cocoa cola (not Pepsi they took the sugar out and put sweetners in) and I'm happy!

Would the nest not be a little crinkly?

FuzzyPuffling · 06/05/2025 21:58

I love lemon drizzle cake. It's my favourite, especially the one from M&S.

Pass it over here please.

And I don't really care for Tunnocks. 😱

I bypassed 4 reduced lemon drizzle cakes to get to the red velvet one!

That just makes me sad Boily.
