Disgraceful but not surprising. They've firmly pinned their colours to the wall (pink and blue). I hope they go out of business.

Well I certainly won't be buying their stuff any more.

MrsKeats · 29/04/2025 21:35

What are they on? Bit rich to comment on those who are well off given the price of their stupid bath bombs.

PatsFruitCake · 29/04/2025 21:38

Why don't they put this much effort into sharing info about the challenges that disabled people face (or any other protected characteristic for that matter)? Why is it always gender identity FFS?

TinyRebel · 29/04/2025 21:46

Vile company with utterly idiotic, captured staff. I saw the window display in my local Lush today, scanned the QR code and was directed to a website selling clothing that glorifies breast amputation. I went in and asked if they were aware of this.

Cue a half hour conversation during which I wanted to stop the world and get off. The young man handed me this leaflet. I flicked through it and asked why Lush was promoting an organisation that was advocating for the chemical castration of children.

They tried to tell me it was possible to change sex and that children should have the right to access puberty blockers and hormones.
I remained icily polite throughout, but it was incredible.

I left when I was asked (realising by now that the shop has emptied of customers), but was utterly furious.

MrsOvertonsWindow · 29/04/2025 21:50

Transactual "partnering" with Lush in order to get their propaganda to children. In plain sight.

'the media is trying to “shift attention from those nicely off, while the rest of us struggle”.'

Fuck me, Lush are a global corporation making millions! It's utterly absurd.

MoreChocPls · 29/04/2025 21:53

I hope they go bankrupt. Hate lush.

ArabellaScott · 29/04/2025 21:55

They are in absolutely no danger of going bankrupt.

Lush puts "trans propaganda leaflets" in children's party bags

SidewaysOtter · 29/04/2025 21:18

Fuck me, just when you think they couldn't actually stoop any lower:

Shocking.

After learning that they were sending out binders to girls a few years ago I already stopped buying anything there.

Actually, hold that thought. Turnover is massive, but ...

'The Group recorded an EBITDA loss of -£6.9m for 2024, compared to a -£2.4m loss 2023 '

Assets look pretty healthy, there.

EdithStourton · 29/04/2025 22:10

That's appalling, even by Lush's dubious standards.

I haven't bought anything there in years. I am in no way tempted to return.

Hedgehogmud · 29/04/2025 22:13

The trans cartoon is also on the front page of their on line shop. They’re also currently doing a collab with Hello Kitty…such an odd combination.

Mindymaby · 29/04/2025 22:18

So… obviously I can’t buy anything from them every again, but I do so love their bubble bars… where can I get similar from?

3peassuit · 29/04/2025 22:20

As if their thrush inducing bath bombs weren’t bad enough.

Sassybooklover · 29/04/2025 22:23

Don't tarnish all employees with the same brush. My SIL works for Lush and most definitely wouldn't advocate any of this kind of stuff. In fact I will ask her about it, when I see her.

Edited

I am intrigued by their business model - how are they surviving when places like bodyshop are going bust, and their products are much more expensive? Their products don't seem to change that much from year to year and apart from smell don't seem to offer more than something that could be bought for a 10th of the price.

Are they popular on TikTok?

LonginesPrime · 29/04/2025 22:28

Well done that mother who passed it to the Times!

Honestly, with Lush publicising to the general public what “protect trans kids” actually means, it feels like we could all take a little holiday.

I’m very much in favour of TransActual’s batshittery getting as much coverage as possible - people don’t always believe me when I tell them groups are actually saying this stuff, so it’s great for them to hear it from the horse’s mouth.

Sofasloth · 29/04/2025 22:30

£40 for their body spray. £40! For a spray!!

SquaredShoulders · 29/04/2025 22:35

It does say in the article that the leaflets were available to be picked up by customers in store but shouldn’t have been added to party bags.

SquaredShoulders · 29/04/2025 22:38

The leaflet does sound like a load of bollocks though.

EasternStandard · 29/04/2025 22:39

That’s so bad

OdeToBarney · 29/04/2025 22:40

This is absolutely revolting. I haven't bought anything from them since they started promoting breast mutilation, but fuck me, they went lower.

Fordian · 29/04/2025 22:40

Watch them go under within the year.
