Is that so they can be properly scolded for being mean?

They'd not fucking dare!!!

lcakethereforeIam · 22/04/2025 20:33

I've honestly never listened to Woman's Hour. For this though I'll make an effort. What time does it start?

10am

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 22/04/2025 20:39

It's 10-11am. They might give an indication of the running order at the start.

Madcats · 22/04/2025 20:43

Oh FFS. She's a PITA.

borntobequiet · 22/04/2025 21:25

Gosh. That’s a turn up for the books. WH really couldn’t swerve this one, though, could it? Much as I expect it would like to.

WarriorN · 22/04/2025 21:38

Awesome thanks. I’m in a different time zone so can enjoy my early morning tea listening whilst everyone is still asleep!

MsFogi · 22/04/2025 21:39

I sincerely hope that the women of FWS make a few points about how much WH let women down over the past few years.

HaveYouActuallyDoneAnyWashingThisWeekMum · 23/04/2025 06:48

They‘ve finally deigned to Let Women Speak. I hope the presenter accords the women every ounce of warm-hearted genuine respect they deserve.

VioletSpeedwell · 23/04/2025 06:56

I wish they'd invite Jenni Murray back to host a one hour special.

Sandylittleknees · 23/04/2025 07:01

Maybe they (WH) could apologise to Jenni!!! Perhaps LWS will mention her.

HaveYouActuallyDoneAnyWashingThisWeekMum · 23/04/2025 07:53

What did Jenni do? Speak the truth?

God knows how many emails I’ve sent them over the last few years (including a couple of praise TBF, when they interviewed someone sensible).

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/debate/article-8799931/DAME-JENNI-MURRAY-cancelled-BBC-adore.html

The most relevant part starts at:

I was not leaving, contrary to popular rumour, as a result of ageism on the part of the BBC. I made the decision a year ago when it became clear to me that it was time to move on and be free of the leash which, in recent years, had caused me to be what I can only describe as ‘cancelled’.

Madcats · 23/04/2025 08:29

She’s popped up on my X timeline today (and I’d been wondering about her) but I hope that somebody thinks to interview Teresa Steele, whose life-saving operation was cancelled by HCA(UK) “for a lack of shared beliefs”.

2 1/2 years on, she says that she is doing well and has been working with HCA to implement “Gold standard patient policy to guarantee same sex care”

HaveYouActuallyDoneAnyWashingThisWeekMum · 23/04/2025 08:36

😮

nauticant · 23/04/2025 10:04

It's on now. They're going with the Supreme Court judgment as the first segment in the programme.

impossibletoday · 23/04/2025 10:04

Starting now, first item

Presenter: I hear what you're saying but do you have empathy for transwomen?

TheOtherRaven · 23/04/2025 10:09

Are you sorry that it turns out you have rights that make men sad?

ILikeDungs · 23/04/2025 10:10

Excellent-- no empathy extended to women, SS points out

Scout2016 · 23/04/2025 10:10

Listening now...thanks OP.
I don't want to derail but could someone help me out please with wether it should be transwomen or trans women? I can't remember the difference- does the latter act as an adjective suggesting they are a subset of women?
