I posted in support of the Supreme Court judgment on my Facebook profile.

I've made a note of my friend count, let's see if it drops.

Two likes so far, no comments.

Huge huge congrats @MissScarletInTheBallroom (love your name btw!!)

This is a big step and you're doing it will encourage others.

I hate the fact that being publicly GC would lose me work and that I "dont dare" ... I am outspoken and raise the issue in person, particularly with mixed groups (and yes the men's comments are fascinating)...

BlackForestCake · 21/04/2025 12:30

if I agreed that Ru Paul was a beautiful woman,

Does Ru Paul even claim to be a woman? I don’t think he does. How is it drag, if he’s a woman?

If Ru Paul were a woman, the media would be full of negative comments asking what the fuck she had done to her face.

The NHS Trust I'm on the bank staff for have posted on FB how disappointed they are at the ruling. I've risked replying with 'disappointed'??? I guess that's my side job fucked then. No shits acutally.

So I've had some push back on my above comment, as follows:

"there is no research or evidence to suggest trans people are a threat to women’s safety. It’s a similar narrative as when misinformation spreads about people with mental health difficulties being dangerous. As we know, these people are much more likely to be at risk of harm FROM others than they are to others. Not comparing gender identity to mental illness in any way, but there is similar misinformation about marginalized groups being dangerous when in fact they’re more at risk. By policing people’s biological sex, we may likely be putting more women (both cis and trans) at higher risk. For example, if someone thought you or any other woman seemed like they may be trans in a women’s only space, a male officer/security/etc. could search or examine you. There have been similar stories already like a woman who survived cancer being told she couldn’t use the women’s toilet as someone believed she was trans due to her mastectomy. It’s a dangerous time with so much misinformation around, it’s important to keep each other informed and to double check what stories are spread by media and politicians before making a judgment of a group of people"

What utter bollocks.

Have they produced any evidence to back up the assertion? Because we have plenty to support the converse.

This assertion:

'there is no research or evidence to suggest trans people are a threat to women’s safety'

Male people retain male pattern criminality and that does not change lost transition.

I'd be tempted to post some pictures of the trans activists at today's marches carrying placards threatening violence to TERFs and ask if they really think there's no evidence that these people are a threat to women's safety.

What exactly will these security guards/officers be searching for? A quick squeeze of the crotch area. I think not!

I've been trying to find that page that shows all the M2F trans criminals in the UK year on year, with pics, their male name and their chosen female name, plus a description of their crimes. I think it was something like this, but all in one page with photos. Called something like: Not Our Crimes.

Trans Crime UK – Documenting crimes committed by transgender individuals in the UK

I was extremely pissed off that the Pagan Federation put out a long statement to say that trans women are women and transmen are men and that they will not be changing their views on this. But they always were a waste of space right from the beginning.

I've never had any time for them. All that wafting about in Arthurian headdresses/crushed velvet wittering on about the "auld" ways and spelling magic with a 'k''. Gets right on my wick(a).

Definitely more the Magrat end of things than proper Granny Weatherwax stuff. Granny wouldn't have had any truck with this nonsense.

If you find it please share. I need something visual and simple (know your audience and all that) to have to hand if this comes up for me.

I haven't asked him, but I am assuming not.

And in our conversation he has said "trans women are women" several times but he has not said "trans men are men".

I’d actually ask him. If TWAW, by extension TMAM, therefore would he be attracted to/date a trans identified female? I presume unless he is actually bisexual, the answer would be no, but I doubt he’d admit it because that it would involve some critical thinking.

Cazziebo · 20/04/2025 22:11

I’ve not been silent on my Terfism. Posted the result of the SC outcome as a victory for common sense and had around 20 positive comments from friends who had been silent previously (plus comments from terfy friends!)
2 blokes wade in with ‘but what about the poor victimised trans people.??” It was so good to see others respond with ‘I’m uncomfortable with trans accessing changing rooms” and “they’re still men” . Both guys then go on to post ‘I stand with trans’ on their pages Hmm

But that's good. If the men stand with trans, then the trans women will be fine in the gents.
That's what's needed.

I don't know that your assumption on this is safe, some gay men do seem to date transmen. Buck Angel's porn fanbase was gay men, for example.

Fair enough but I'd argue that a man who dates a transman isn't actually gay, he is either straight or bisexual, given a trans man is a women.

My relative is "gay" and in a relationship with a trans man. They identify as a gay couple. In my private opinion, they're just a heterosexual couple. Controversial as that may seem!

Thanks for the push and the Sonia Sodha article, I just did it as well!

DH just accused me of gloating. So I sent it to him highlighting this text:

But many pundits have misinterpreted this as meaning women should not celebrate a landmark legal victory in a case it was a travesty they ever had to fight. It’s a product of the rank misogyny embedded everywhere, from right to left. Can you imagine angry leftwing men railing against any other group that’s managed to secure their rights? Chastising them for not being gracious enough in victory? Me neither. The reaction to the judgment serves as an important reminder that, while the law is the law, our culture remains dead-set against women who say no to men. It’s how women’s and lesbians’ rights were so rapidly eroded by Stonewall and its allies in the first place, and why women have been bullied, hounded and sacked simply for trying to assert their legal protections

Ha, so true. I always thought Ru Paul was comfortable being a man (and a beautiful one) and only got forced into this ideology crap beyond his will

Did he also accuse gay people of gloating when they finally got the right to marry?

Of course not. That's because they're people.
