There have been so many issues over the last few years with trans rights clashing with women’s rights… its been fascinating, in a bad way.

some that come to mind:

A man photographed breastfeeding a newborn in a bus - and being used by the BBC to represent mothers for a story

A man running a rape crisis centre while saying he’s a women and telling women users of the service to ‘reframe their trauma’

a man saying he’s a women and being appointed to head a charity for endometriosis.

Male police officers who say they are women being allowed to strip search women.

What else…

And one of his staff calling a baby a fascist

Ha! I'd forgotten about the fascist baby!

We never found out what happened to the male student union officer who also posted selfies showing him having fun at work behind his desk, when unfortunately he'd forgotten to put anything on below the waist.

Now spelling his name Jesse (they/them). Second from right, top photo might look familiar. https://www.mycomanchester.com/about-us

And has changed his surname to Noon. https://www.matchmaker.fm/show-guest/jesse-noon-11a784

It's almost like these people claim "queer" identities as a smokescreen for changing their names to avoid accountability for posting pictures of their penises online.

The big orange penis monkey in libraries and Dundee University and their medic training, also the male period adviser. The horrifying realisation that we hadn't really 'won' anything. We're hated, everyone loves degrading porn and it seeps into everything, politicians are mostly bought or stupid, people with qualifications and big letters after their names are often stupid, professionalism is gone, shame is gone, safeguarding is gone. Eurgh, so much.

Jess Bradley, professional loon (free all trans prisoners anyone?) and first transgender student officer suspended because (as ladies often do) he exposed himself at a bus stop, took photographs of it and put them on the internet. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-6003331/Britains-official-transgender-student-officer-suspended.html

I think what boggled me most was that actual grownups appeared to take him seriously (and at the time everyone had to use 'she' or 'they' pronouns for this joker or get their posts deleted)

Britain's first official transgender student officer suspended

Britain's first official ‘transgender students’ officer’ has been suspended over allegations that she posted explicit photographs on an online blog.

Sophie Cook appearing on newsnight with some male presenter to discuss the use of the word 'womxn', My letter to the BBC pointing out that 2 men pontificating on the definition of the word 'woman' felt pretty much like the definition of misogyny was met with blank incomprehension and a gaslighty reply telling me that one of the people on the screen was a woman

I was astonished at how violent those little red guard-istas were prepared to be. they literally could not tolerate people with different opinions to their own. Julie Bindel was amazingly brave

Unfortunately still going- that awful Irish doctor in the US who does tiktok dance routines promoting her elective mastectomies to teenage girls. Apparently she intentionally does not have insurance so no-one can raise a case against her malpractice.

In the same vein, GP Helen Webberley, although it is at least some comfort that she can no longer practice and is having to hire immoral doctors to prescribe on her behalf.

The fear around pronouns, particularly at work - so many threads of women fearing they'd lose their job if they didn't put their pronoun in their e-mail etc.

Gettingbysomehow · 20/04/2025 20:16

On tiktok today, downs syndrome women aren't women because they have an extra chromosome.....daft ranting from a transwoman getting muddled by science.

Poor old Mr Harrop.

When TRAs literally projected “Repeat After Us: Trans Women Are Women” onto the Houses of Parliament like a scene from 1984.

The Tickle Vs. Giggle case in AU.
And Amnesty International misleadingly using the photo of the woman on the app instead of Roxy Tickles photo, when they celebrated his win

The de platforming of Martina Navaratilova. One of the greatest sports women of my life time left out in the cold for saying that men shouldn’t play in womens sports. I went to some anniversary presentation at Wimbledon a couple of years ago, they were all there for some special presentations, Williams x2, Murray, Federer, Jokavic. But no Marina. Sad.

A funny one to share - Ricky Gervais's comedy routine on the 'new' types of women.

During Alison Bailey's employment tribunal case, Kirrin Medcalfe, 34, the head of trans inclusion at Stonewall, made a last minute request to have with him his mum, a support worker and an emotional support dog. He also needed frequent breaks. Did not make an impressive witness, IIRC.

Oh yes, and Owen Jones said women who objected to men filming themselves wanking in the NSPCC office were just homophobes.

I thought it was the NSPCC who told women who objected that they were homophobic. Then it turned out the guy was straight.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 20/04/2025 22:10

Oh, and a very old one indeed. Miranda Yardley, a transsexual who uses the pronouns he/him and is a sex realist, was sued by Helen Islan, who was then or had earlier been the marketing officer for Mermaids and who is mother of a trans-identified child (FTM, transitioned while a minor). HI posts as mimmymun on Twix. Sorry for the DM link but their headline says it all:

Britain's first transgender hate crime trial is halted after one day as judge says 'there is no case and never was a case'

In response, she was unmasked by Yardley who tweeted a picture and a link to her real identity. The tweet also referenced her transgender child, which Ms Islan argued effectively ‘outed’ him. She said it led to them both being harassed adding that the post made her feel ‘stressed and sick’. Initially, Ms Islan’s complaint was dealt with by West Yorkshire Police before being passed to colleagues in Essex, who decided it was a hate crime. But when the case reached court the defence referred to pages of social media posts in which Ms Islan herself was regularly tweeting about her trans child, about him taking blockers, that he had ‘come out’ at school. The court heard that a simple search on Google brought up Ms Islan’s personal details, including a family photograph that she had herself posted.
