It's going to be a long path...rewinding on the confusion and obfuscation.
I'm uncertain whether this ruling means that employers and organisations will now have to make clear that single sex facilities relate to biological sex, or whether they will still be able to attempt to enforce their own preferences?
There will inevitably be some organisations which try to subvert the ruling; but they will be liable for their decisions in a court of law. i imagine yet more court cases and tribunals will have to be bought...but now with a firm ruling that 'Sex' refers to biological sex. Some trans identified men will still try to access single sex facilities - but it will be easier to challenge them.
The government is going to have to issue clear guidelines.....but i cannot see that happening. I see Harriet Harman is now trying to spin it as a win for the trans lobby...by saying that single sex exemptions will only be applicable in extreme and very specific circumstances.
