Oh dear, what a car crash. Well done Tom. I listened to this on my drive home and if you get the chance to listen on catch-up you will see her thought process is mind numbing.

I listened to this too. A car crash is a very good description of how it went. Tom was absolutely brilliant 👏

mrshoho · 11/03/2025 19:08

She's firmly chosen her hill to die on.

I like his calm unblinking stare!
"Yes but what does it mean?"

Theeyeballsinthesky · 11/03/2025 19:21

Lol well she made an embarrassing tit of herself there 😆

Abhannmor · 11/03/2025 19:26

It was so cringe I felt a bit sorry for her. Just think though - even 4 years ago there would be an almighty clamour for his dismissal I bet.

Seriestwo · 11/03/2025 19:29

I’d love to hear an explanation of this because I really don’t think I live as a woman correctly

Wildflowers99 · 11/03/2025 19:29

Placemarking

JoyousEagle · 11/03/2025 19:29

I've yet to hear a definition of "living as a woman" that isn't either completely circular (living as a woman means you live as a woman) or completely sexist.

nauticant · 11/03/2025 19:30

Denyer's maiden speech on 18 July. The first thing she did of substance in Parliament. First 10 seconds:

Wildflowers99 · 11/03/2025 19:34

Good god that was absolutely delicious.

Tom’s stare almost made me fancy him, it was so full of conviction and challenge.

Carla looks a complete and total tit.

exwhyzed · 11/03/2025 19:35

Tom Swarbrick has always been very good on this.

He is my favourite of all LBC presenters with Shelagh Fogarty coming a close second. Shelagh I sometimes feel wants to stay more about this than she will allow herself to, but Tom has male immunity from being cancelled on it and uses it.

In other notes is that Carla's cycling proficiency badge pinned to her lapel? It looks just like mine from 30ish years ago.

That made me hoot as I was settling DD 😂

I think even they realise that now, which is why you'll never hear a definition forthcoming. It's a declaration of faith.

Hoydenish · 11/03/2025 19:48

Denyer by name, deny-er by nature.

Me neither. What we probably need is a man who has been living undetected as a women for many years to explain where we are going wrong. Trouble is I don’t think it is easy to find such a beast……..

Helleofabore · 11/03/2025 20:50

I look forward to a time when these platitudes such as ‘live as a woman’ are never uttered in relation to a male people again.

PinkStingray · 11/03/2025 20:52

I am a woman and this is my life recipe to live like one to anyone who wants to follow:
I was born a girl in a Latin society, I was raised to be an ornament while my brother was raised to be a man, to be something from the day he was born.
I was first a property of my father and then of my husband.
I suffered sexual harassment almost daily when young and some SA.
When a teenager my virginity was fair game to be a talk of discussion for others.
I was raised to live in relation of men.
I had men mainsplaining the world to me, I have seen idiot men at work do well and clever women been ignored.
I could go on but I'm tired of typing in this tiny phone keyboard...
I had to learn to break the mental bonds of my upbringing to grow into myself.
Wearing dresses had nothing to do with it!

Lottapianos · 11/03/2025 20:57

'He is my favourite of all LBC presenters with Shelagh Fogarty coming a close second. Shelagh I sometimes feel wants to stay more about this than she will allow herself to'

I love them both. They know that the gender woo is bullshit. Shelagh has been much more vocal about it in the past year or so

'Living as a woman' FFS 🙄

ArabellaScott · 11/03/2025 21:27

the sheer terror on her face!

[Oh god, oh god, I can't answer, what can I say, I can't back down, please, don't make me answer]

I am watching football and I am discussing other football matches I am not watching with my family on whatsapp. I am double footballing. Am I womaning wrong?

I did wear a skirt today.

Arran2024 · 11/03/2025 21:34

And she used the example of someone who has been trans for 15 years. Not someone who dresses up at the weekend but still demands full access.

Barbadosgirl · 11/03/2025 21:37

“I trust someone to be an expert in their own gender” whut? Do you trust me though when I say gender is bullshit, I don’t believe in it and I do not participate? Betcha don’t.

Liv versus PSG by any chance? Looks like I’m womanning wrong as well 😬

littlbrowndog · 11/03/2025 21:49

Oh ffs you women watching football. Wrong sorts of women

Oblahdeeoblahdoe · 11/03/2025 21:56

I listened to it in the car on my way home from the pub (I'm a woman what lunches) and found myself generally agreeing to what she was saying about taxing the very wealthy and then boom! The gender question!! Tom was brilliant. She absolutely had no idea how to answer his questions 😀 However, she did seem to agree that services could decide for themselves, not sure she meant it though.
