Lesbian mistaken for trans woman in woman's bathroom in Arizona

But I thought people "can always tell"?

It also led to the irony the only males in the bathroom were two male police officers who were notified by a store employee who mistakenly thought a male had entered the woman's toilets.

"In an alarming incident at a Tucson, Arizona Walmart, 19-year-old Kalaya Morton*, a Black cisgender lesbian, was confronted by two male sheriff’s deputies while using the women’s restroom, sparking outrage and a demand for accountability.
Morton, who identifies as masculine-presenting or a “stud,” recounted the humiliating encounter that occurred when a store employee erroneously assumed she was a transgender woman. The saga began innocuously enough: Morton had entered the restroom with her ex-girlfriend, who was kindly handing her a tampon— an act of friendship that, unfortunately, soon spiraled into something far more troubling. In an exclusive interview with The Advocate, Morton detailed her shock when the two deputies barged in, shining flashlights into the restroom stall.

“You have to get out of here. You have to come out. We need to talk to you.” Imagine trying to pee in peace, only to have the police storm in like it’s an episode of Cops: Restroom Edition.
“I’m still using the restroom. I’m sitting down, I’m peeing. What is the issue?,” Morton incredulously told the deputies as she sat there.
Now, while most people hope for a streamlined bathroom experience, Morton was treated more like a suspect than a bathroom user. The deputies apparently needed to crack the case of “Who Looks Like a Man in the Ladies’ Room,” a particularly absurd mystery, if you ask us."

It would be a good experiment but you won't try it. You want to stay in your algorithm.

Also, do you guys actually know that you can turn off access to sensitive content on twitter and then you literally won't see any porn again? I assume you don't know that (although twitter does auto hide it at first so you must have rnabled it but...) so yeah just do that and you won't see a dick again 👍🏻

TwiX's sensitive content filter doesn't help when your replies are full of "suck this dick TERF".

I am berating the women who say it's acceptable for other women to abuse women. I am berating those that think it's acceptable to accuse women of "being men". I am berating those who claim it doesn't happen, or the original post was a one off and doesn't really happen.

That is all.

But no one is saying that 🙄

WillIEverBeOk · 06/03/2025 16:06

justteanbiscuits · 06/03/2025 10:58

No. I didn't say anyone here was to blame. If you actually bothered to read what I had posted, it is wrong for people to simply think this is acceptable. Which is what is being said. It is not acceptable.

NO ONE has ever said it's acceptable. Please don't lie and misrepresent.

Actually, women absolutely should complain about how the "public square" of the 21st century has been set up in a way that ignores us.

When facial recognition software doesn't recognise Black and Brown people's faces, that's "just how the algorithm works", right? Yet we rightly call that failure out as racist. Calling out how social media algorithms harm women across the board, not just about porn, is no different.

Absolutely agree with you about how facial recognition software is programmed. It's racist as hell which is why it's problematic when GC people recommend it screen biological women for lesbian dating apps etc it's disproportionately incorrectly categorised black and brown people as trans.

Basically though you agree that the twitter algorithm works to show people porn who regularly engage with it and within social media bubbles where it's prevalent.

Babe you're really embarrassing yourself, please I beg you Google how the internet works for one second. It's not a coincidence that only people obsessed with tweeting about trans people's genitals (sorry for the explicit term 😂) are regularly getting these videos AND keep getting them (because they're watching through and engaging!)

It' not 'trans people's' genitals.

It's MALE genitals.

Turns out this thread was linked to yesterday by a transactivist account. Makes sense now why we're getting their low quality arguments littering up the thread.

Reminder, bumping this enlightening post

HouseOfGoldandBones · 06/03/2025 16:11

I'm a little confused what the issue is?

Lots of predatory men use women's facilities, so occasionally, a woman might be mistaken for one of these predators &, to keep women safe, she's challenged.

lifeturnsonadime · 06/03/2025 16:11

These distraction posts are deliberately trying to fill the tread. I want space for @Bunny44 to answer Helles question.

I do know that. Quite a few of the people I follow are marked as 'sensitive'. Including one lovely account that specialises in womens art. And one fighting against FGM. The number of times dicks mentioned in her tweets was obnoxious btw, as transactivists were extremely upset she refused to see circumcision as FGM even with penis being female genitalia.

So 'sensitive' doesn't means sensitive in a way I interpret sensitive. Does that mean I should stop supporting campaigns against FGM or stop following womens art?

That blog's operator is a woman.

TERFs are also women because men cannot be feminists. "Prominent TERFs" with trans porn in their bookmarks would be women using it as source material to demonstrate how it reduces women to a set of harmful stereotypes (e.g. "sissy porn") and to demonstrate the role of trans porn in men deciding to fly to Malaga Airport.

It's very male to only consider porn as wank fodder and not to consider it as documentary evidence of men's attitudes towards women. It's therefore not surprising that TW on TwiX wouldn't consider the possibility that such bookmarks could be anything other than "spank bank".

Right as I said I don't know that blog so 🤷🏻‍♀️

TERFs are also women because men cannot be feminists

That's a subjective opinion. It's not an objective fact that men can't be feminists.

I think you're making a massive reach that the majority of people watching this porn are doing so for research. Do they type their findings up with all the sexualised terms being used up thread?

Maddening. Those posts have nothing to do with the actual subject of the thread.

I support many anti FGM campaigners. None of them post pictures of genitals or if they do I don't see it / don't need to see it to support the cause. You must know given you've come across it you can click to indofually expose any video or image when you know it's from an account you trust.

Apparently according to PP the word genitals is creepy, please use the medical terms cock and balls so as to not offend.

MrsOvertonsWindow · 06/03/2025 16:17

So am I right that the twatter tech bros and creepy porn obsessed genital fetishists have descended on this little corner of the internet to school everyone about their personal knowledge about porn, the internet and other obsessions?

Who wants to bet they'll be nowhere to be seen when we're discussing safeguarding children, women and sport, the importance of improving maternity care, women's health, VAWG and all the other issues that affect real women.

Hopefully Tucson will manage not to have any further toilet incidents this weekend.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 06/03/2025 16:18

It would seem to be the case @MrsOvertonsWindow

NextRinny · 06/03/2025 15:54

Just do it yourself? Create a new account and take the gc view and see how long it takes you to get abuse porn?

Again I post on many feminist Twitter threads, I've been on many GC threads and literally never seen porn on the thread hence asking for examples of the accounts whose tweets are being replied to with this.

Lark1ane · 06/03/2025 16:19

Bunny's been on that nursery run since this morning. Perhaps Bunny can't get back on this thread cos of all the ALGORITHMS of dodgy todgers.

Oh I'm there too don't worry! Just post under a different username. Presumably the same as the regulars on here do as very few are on the threads about any other feminist issues.

Is it the word, or is it how often you’ve referred to genitals, porn and the need to be shown links to stuff no one else wants to see/be reminded of? Hmmm.

By reading articles where you know they would say the man was dressed as a woman. Not "posing as a cleaner", or "posing as a plumber".

What about the ones where she was waving her penis out the window?

Or when the male suddenly discovers his inner woman when he is faced with a term in prison?

The focus is on this sub-class of males as they dont all dress " as a woman " yet insist that they should be given a right to access female spaces.

They as a class
• have actively worked to break the social contract.
• have worked to remove single sex spaces
• have worked to remove the correct sexing of sex offenders and other offenders
° in courts
° in court records and media reports
° in crime and prison records.

And they are men.

FEMinists are FEMales who advocate for the rights of FEMales. It's literally in the name. Men can be feminist allies - but they can't actually be a feminist.

I would bet the ones arguing for males with special identities to be allowed into women’s spaces and sports would be the ones that would avoid being sent such niceties. Funnily enough.
