https://www.theguardian.com/news/2025/feb/27/andrew-tate-tristan-romania-us?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other. It seems that Trump successfully pressured the Romanian authorities into allowing this.

We are in dark, dark times

Trump showed the world who he was and is following through

Greyskybluesky · 27/02/2025 10:10

I'm sure someone will be along shortly to tell us how this is all women's fault somehow.

Literally if the MAGA cohort wearing nappies are to be believed 💩. I'm not sure why the American masses thought that he would be any different. Unfortunately it will impact on the rest of the planet 😡

It's a curious thing going into bat for someone like Tate, don't most people (apart from those vulnerable to his bullshit) think he is nothing more than a repellent creep?

Makes me wonder what value he has for the US government. There has to be something.

waitingquietly · 27/02/2025 10:16

The world is a darker place today than it was yesterday if that is even possible .

Tate has a massive social media following in the US and campaigned for Trump.
This is Trump's way of thanking him and ensuring he continues to be supported by the knuckle draggers who follow Tate.

inigomontoyahwillcox · 27/02/2025 10:27

I utterly despair. I mean, there's a long list of Trump's despicable behavior since his short tenure commenced, but what with this and his AI generated "Trump Gaza" post on Truth Social yesterday it utterly blows my mind how anyone can still support him.

anniegun · 27/02/2025 10:29

Every morning I wake up to find the world has got worse due to the actions of Donald Trump

Miaowzabella · 27/02/2025 10:36

Probably Trump has a suitable job for Tate in his administration. Women's Issues Tsar?

TempestTost · 27/02/2025 10:48

Is it unusual for the American government to attempt to arrange the return American citizens being held in other countries to the US? I don't have any time for Tate but I think that's fairly normal? AFAIK they are still supposed to return for trial?

At school repellent creeps seemed to attract one another. It's the same with adults.

Itisbetter · 27/02/2025 10:50

Is it surprising that he likes a male centric rapey culture and encourages it?

Projectme · 27/02/2025 10:52

and the Romanian Prime Minister is 'expecting them to return for the trial'. Yeah, sure they will. Trump will come up with some kind of nonsense that will mean there was no case to answer and they'll be free men.

I just said to DH that no doubt Trump has come up with some 'trumped up' job title for them both within his administration...I just despair.

PrincessOfPreschool · 27/02/2025 10:57

I'm grateful my DS saw through Andrew Tate when he was halfway through Y9. I'm not sure the MAGAs are that mature yet.

nauticant · 27/02/2025 11:05

I'd imagine the Romanian authorities welcomed a chance to allow him to leave in the hope he'd never return. I wonder if they're hoping that they can have a trial that he doesn't attend, find him guilty, and as a result he avoids their country forever. As a bonus, they get a pat on the head from the new US administration.

tinytemper66 · 27/02/2025 12:49

I just live in the wisdom that he has a small willy despite his misogyny.
He is a Beta male trying so hard to be the Alpha or top G that he says he is.

doubleshotcappuccino · 27/02/2025 12:51

If this was a film you wouldn't keep watching because of the unbelievable plot line

ScoldsBridle · 27/02/2025 12:59

This news makes me feel sick. So the US government put pressure on the Romanian Government to release them? Really? I might have to come off social media because I do not want to see either of their faces as they are welcomed to America. I hope Starmer raises this issue when he meets Trump. Surely we need to extradite him back to the UK?

It seems America only wants to protect women’s single spaces so we can all gather together and swap recipes and tips for keeping our menfolk happy - and celebrate our endless unaborted pregnancies while the men chop fire-wood and shoot the breeze over a few beers. This is getting more and more dystopian. From every direction, left and right, women are fucking shafted.

But didn't one Nigel Farage say recently that Tate was 'an important voice' for men, and gave confidence to boys, defended masculinity, and things like that?

So he is obviously prepared to go in to bat for him; though he did refer to the serious charges against Tate. So he's gone in to bat for him, but bat cautiously, a bit like Geoff Boycott.

unsync · 27/02/2025 13:23

@MarieDeGournay The irony of a Geoff Boycott reference with regard to a discussion about misogynistic men!

CircleofWillis · 27/02/2025 13:31

Now I know what is happening. This is the part in a Marvel movie where all the supervillains congregate to form a huge conglomerate. Although Andrew Tate is definitely a minor henchman rather than a super anything.

The Deplorables?

PaterPower · 27/02/2025 14:43

It’s extremely unlikely that either of the Tates will be tried for their alleged criminal behaviour in either Romania or the UK now.

With the caveat that we don’t know what external pressures Romania were put under from the point the brothers were first arrested, it’s regrettable that they couldn’t get the two in front of a court for over two years.

Had the Romanians got their act together, they would have been convicted (or exonerated) by now and Trump wouldn’t have had this option.

SarcasticIntrovert · 27/02/2025 16:07

This is frightening.

I don't think Farage said quite that. If I am recalling correctly, the sense was more that Tate expresses things that seem to speak to a lot of young men at the moment because they feel emasculated. He seems middle of the road on Tate himself.
