JKR set the bar low and then this is like a race to the bottom. Who can write the cattiest and most purile ‘poetry’.

HardenYourHeart · 15/02/2025 22:35

Vote to rename this thread to "Savage Gender Critical Poetry

No IW set the bar low in posting a comparator based on a man pretending to be a woman, and an actual woman. Then claiming that the bully must be the assertive looking actual woman, because the simpering facsimile of a woman looked , i dunno vulnerable.

Misogyny at large.

Yet in the court this simpering “woman” was the eminence of a controlling man.

At least it’s better than the latest Bob Galbraith offering.

The Robert Galbraith books are masterpieces. I can’t wait for the next one and clearly I’m among many thousands.

I don’t know who Bob is, unless he’s your uncle, in a dress?

Roses are red
Their leaves are green
Violets are blue
But their leaves are still green.

Don't know where that gets us.

There is 18 threads on here about the case if you should wish to learn about the case.

Thanks, I know, I dip into them, but they move overwhelmingly fast and I’m not on Twitter anymore. I used to follow the tribunal tweets account quite religiously but probably good to be away from there (X) to be honest.

Mate, women have been putting up with the far more offensive situation of trans identifying men taking it upon themselves to literally redefine us into this baseless concept of "cis women" who share some sort of wommany mindedness with them, not only without doing us the courtesy of asking us beforehand whether we do, in fact, actually all have that wommany mind thing they were assuming we do (clue - a hell of a lot of us do not), and even if we did, did we actually agree that having a wommany mind is more significant to women's safey, privacy, rights, protections and identity than just having a boring old female body (clue - no it isn't), but just going ahead regardless because nothing we boring actual women could have to say is worth more than their assessment of us, but even after the event, when we are activelty saying very loudly "Oi, men-who-think-you-are-women, you have got this woman thing wrong! That is not what we are at all!", continuing to assert their own redefinition of us onto us over our own voices and experiences.

Now that is offensive!

So if now and again we have enough of that unbelievably offensive treatment and let off a little bit of steam with some - gasp - intemperate poetry, I really do not think that comes anywhere close to the utter utter utter offensiveness that is the simple everyday reality of trans women's treatment of women and womanhood.

Roses are red
Violets are blue
Unless they're trans-roses
Then blue is red too

Lark1ane · 15/02/2025 23:13

Upton's Tribunal thread?
He must be on glue.

Waitwhat23 · 15/02/2025 23:14

I prefer haikus -

It doesn't matter
How much India bitches.
He's a man, always.

JKR replies
Cos he's like a mosquito.
Infernal buzzing.

A word of warning
He might go through with his threat =
Televised cervix!

The last one is the best one so clearly that comment is bullshit.
I remember Stephen King on Twitter talking about how amazing it was.
If JK has one failing it’s making me wait for the next one until September.

Roses are red
Violets are blue

i have boner
looking at you

i’m in a dress
cant you see

that makes me a girl
Just let me be

don't be scared
i wish no ill

I promise not
I take a pill

I am kind
my mates attest
And wish me all the best

i have no clue
what an ado

Moses supposes his toes are roses
But Moses supposes erroneously
Unless Moses proposes his toes be roses
If that's what they identify to be

Moses supposes his toeses are roses
But Moses supposes erroneously
For nobody’s toeses are pos-es of roses
Unless said to be so by Doctor Beth-y

murasaki · 15/02/2025 23:34

Dr Beth must be on meth
If he thinks we think he's a she.

Tonight Bigger Boat
Bellows into the darkness
No! No more poems!

No verse, no sonnets
Definitely not an ode
Limericks? Get lost!

Antipathy to
Rhyming words in a couplet.
Oh! five seven five.

There's a mean-eyed yelling Doctor to the West of Auchtertool
There's a little medic cross dressing in the town;
There's a self id ing woman tends to favour nurses loos
And the yelling sod forever notes it down.

by Backyard Kipling.

Very good.

murasaki · 16/02/2025 00:12

I think it's by Hayes not Kipling though...sounds like it should be Kipling.

murasaki · 16/02/2025 00:14

My dad used to read it to me when I was little. Strange man.

Lark1ane · 16/02/2025 00:16

It is by Hayes you are right @murasaki I've mis poeted him.
But I prefer Backyard Kipling as a nome de plume

Too much left over Christmas Baileys!

spannasaurus · 16/02/2025 00:16

There was a young man called Teddy
Who invaded the space of Nurse Peggie
Wouldn't leave the room
Now he talks like a loon
And says he's a girl from Kirkcaldy

It definitely has Kipling vibes, and the nom de plume is excellent!

My dad used to read it to me when I was little. Strange man.

My Grandad used to recite Horatius at The Gate to me. I was 4.
I loved it.
Followed by Lucy Gray. I think it was?
He worked in a mill and was an organiser for the communist party.

murasaki · 16/02/2025 00:26

To Beth or not to Beth
Whether tis nobler in the mind's eye to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous Sandie
Or to take arms against a sea of nurses
And by opposing end them.
