I agree it's a derail. No one who's followed this debate would say "gender affirming care" includes circumcision. But feel free to start a separate thread on it Tooes

People saying Trump is "so right" on the issue need to understand that in the US gender-critical outlook is part of the overall conservative agenda. They don't have anyone otherwise progressive questioning any of the trans ideology; they have no TERFs to speak of, TRA it is still widely accepted and seen as a sign of being liberal and "left" (even thought there is no "left" in America as far as I'm concerned).

Trump's views on trans politics is part of the narrative that includes stopping gay marriages and adoptions, criminalising abortions and generally reducing rights of women - for him and his supporters its all the same thing. So I would not be cheering any of the shit coming out of Trump's gob, its not based on research or progressive ideology but on rampant homophobia and insane religious radicalism.

I know a lot of conservative American women. Some very conservative. They have a lot of different viewpoints on various topics.

What they are not is uneducated around those topics.

I think this is becoming a larger and larger gap in the population. It's a bit of a funny one to me, being nice is seen as more important than being truthful.

You cant' separate it though. Yes, stopping trans nonsense. Yes, restoring male and female. And at the same time, reducing overall gay rights to nothing. In Trump's eyes, gay and trans are the same thing. You cant get away from that.

Just stop. We are hopefully seeing the end of the forced teaming of LGB and TQ+ by the Dems. This is why the left are going to hell in a hand basket - because they're the ones who've been cheerleading child sexual mutilation and women being raped in prisons by men claiming a woman identity. Ending these things cannot “reduce overall gay rights to to nothing". It does the opposite.

I don't see DT as any great intellectual, not even close, but I am pretty sure he's been around the block and knows the difference between a homosexual person and someone saying they are the opposite sex.

Im all up for changes to the law and banning of medical transition of kids etc. All I'm saying is that in case of Trump's govermnent it wiil mean that gay righs will be eroded, too.

He's definitely supported/ been seen supportive of activists advocating banning gay people from being able to adopt.

and many others that every sane woman will be livid about
he will also forget to do stuff he does not care about

I thought he supported the right not to support gay adoption. But whatever. This isn't about that. It's about stopping the butchery of gay children and the raping of women, or women being stopped from accessing scholarships to get into colleges because of men claiming a woman identity. That kind of thing. If he does that, GOOD.
