I do resent the hard of thinking that come here to berate women who are capable of holding two thoughts in their heads;
- it is good that Trump has recognised reality and that no one actually believes in this shit.
AND
- Trump has not done this because of women's rights, he has done it because it reflects majority opinion and because he understands it's a subject that undermines trust in the Democratic Party. Thus it's a useful tool to aid his own agenda.
Instead we get called all sorts of names and are accused of being far right. And told that 'you are either with us or against us' in an attempt to force women into being politically manipulated into having to support something they don't believe in and is against their own interests.
Which Trump and Co love because it creates a situation where the left are actively doing their work for them by actively and deliberately alienating and ostracising people who know gender identity is sexist made up bollocks. All without opening their own mouths once.
We are in this mess because people on the left, thought they could force gender religion upon us without being accountable and without public support. Which is as anti democratic as it gets.
This makes arguments that Trump and Co are the enemies of democracy unable to stick because of the erosion of trust and staggering level of hypocrisy.
Meanwhile here on MN free from the inability to think critically we've seen this situation coming a bloody mile off and repeatedly tried to warn politicians on the left it was a recipe for disaster and every time they said TWAW they were scoring an own goal. We got nothing but abuse for our trouble.
So we reached a state where we no longer give a fuck whether we were called Nazis. We knew we weren't because we could still string a coherent intelligent argument together, whilst being civil and rational about it without the need to throw out reciprocal threats and unfiltered abuse. We quoted Orwell and talked about the features and patterns of authoritarian behaviour. We reflected on historical patterns that ushered in conditions which allowed the collapse of democracy in bygone eras: a corrupt elite who had grown so arrogant that they now believed they were above listening to the people and could instead ignore accountability and ableness - because they knew best. We knew we were being not only civil but merely describing material reality and were able to actively demonstrate the harms being done. In short we knew the truth and that the truth will out.
However in the process of shouting that we were all Nazis, the left hand managed to somehow render the accusation meaningless. They successfully silenced many by making them believe their voices were worthless and they were powerless. The power of calling someone a Nazi has been reduced to nothing as it had been used so inappropriately to the point that it no longer held fear of social pariahhood. Everyone had been falsely accused, and knew that they were not Nazis and the accusation was merely a way to try and control them and silence them.
Thus allowing the actual fascists who met the definition of the word in multiple ways to gain traction. And we've now reached a point where someone can stand on stage and do a deliberate Nazi salute to be able to brazen it out openly, because the fuckwits didn't listen to us here. T
We are The Cassandras.
We are still not Nazis nor Nazi sympathisers. We still don't like Trump and don't remotely think he will do anything for women. Because we know that authoritarians of all persuasions come for women first and erode their rights and freedoms. That's because we've been identifying the authoritatism of both the left and the right allies along and continue to do so.
Because we are capable of holding more than one thought in our heads and recognising the world is a bit more complicated than the fantastical dross that gender evangelists like to spout.
All you have to offer is more name-calling and you wonder why we all stand here going 'and?' in response to Trump.
Why?
Because 'we told you so', long before this ever happened. We saw this coming a mile off and you did nothing. And now you stand there shouting insults into the void. No one cares because they stopped listening to you long ago when you told us we had to go along with the make believe no matter how much it harmed us and failed to engage when we presented the evidence of our real life problems.
You made yourselves irrelevant and even now you can't figure it out about how we got here. Cos it's always everyone else's fault but yours. You had the spin to avoid accountability and suddenly wonder why the opposition gets away with worse.
So you carry on shouting at us and telling us how we are to blame for everything and how evil we are.
We can all see it for what it is: 'fiddling whilst Rome burns'.
We were never the enemy. You made us out to be the enemy. We said look out behind you. You ignored us and focused all your attention on continuing to persecute anyone who disagree with you.
You let the real threat just waltz in through the open city gates. And now the city burns. All we are doing now is stand here watching the winds of change fan the flames knowing there's probably little we can do to stop it as we've passed that point.
I'm so over justifying my position and the position of so many women on MN. We don't have to. Material reality holds true.
It's not us who needs to get our house in order to regain credibility.
Engage your brain. And fast. Before it really is too late and there's nothing left to salvage from the mess you created.
Men can't become women. They never could and they never will. Stop being misogynist creeps intent on upholding the bullshit law that states : "men are whatever they say they are, women are whatever men tell them".
Then maybe we'll start to give the slightest fuck about what you have to say again.
May I take this opportunity to quietly remind you that leaders in a democracy are there to serve the people. Until then, it's not us who isn't on your side. It's you that's not on our side. We are not here to serve your own self interest.
