This popped up on my linked in feed - a free advice line which offers legal advice to women suffering sexual harassment in the workplace welcomes applications from transwomen.

That's right women being sexually harassed by men, come and discuss the details of it with men.

medically effeminized pansies

You're telling us off and you're an actual transphobe. Well I never.

It's not actually to do with the completion. It's to do with makes taking the space of a female. So there are fewer opportunities for women. Safety isn't the point.

Does 'well I never' come across as offended? That makes as much sense as @Catiette 's language.

That's weirdly emotive language. "Handle themselves" sounds more like a value judgement than a statement of biological fact. "Flowers" is positively Victorian.

The biological fact is that yes, a majority of women, including Olympians, are likely to be slower and weaker than a male body, with all the unchangeable advantages of male puberty and limited impact of "feminising" drugs.

This isn't a cause for shame or blame - different but equal.

Yet your language - "handle themselves" suggests mental/emotional strength, with connotations of "coping" etc., and "flowers" is just bizarre - really concerns me.

I thought we'd got past thinking females are inferior because we have different bodies! Please tell me you don't think that?!

If you can't see the problem then I can't help you. I can't imagine discussing my experience of sexual violence with anyone who isn't female.

murasaki · 06/12/2024 22:38

Well if pretendians aren't ok, aren't trans people the same thing?

JanesLittleGirl · 06/12/2024 22:41

Conversing with Y'all is just another game of chess with a pigeon. The pigeon knocks over all the pieces, shits all over the board and then struts off as if it has won.

PS. Still can't imagine seeking help after SV from a man.

@soConfusedByYalliThoughtThisWasaParentingSite Yes. But as has been pointed out women who are sexually harassed at work are very likely to have been harassed by men. It’s a bit like saying “ So sorry you have been burgled, why not phone this helpline where a burglar will listen to you” or “ Sorry your partner was run over by a drunk driver, but here’s someone who knows all about drink driving from the other side of the steering wheel to chat to you.”

Getting the idea

For me at least this story brought to mind a fairly early 'South Park' in which the character Mr Garrison (who much further down the line does come out as a TW), in discussion with the school councillor, lets slip that he's been traumatised by an issue of sexual abuse. Much questioning later, it turns out that the trauma stems from him being upset that he was never on the receiving end of abuse having wanted to have been. I think that's roughly the kind of fantastist who might be interested in this kind of role.

MrsTerryPratchett · 06/12/2024 22:56

OK @Catiette I won't report this time but you've been akchbrubwuyjv. OK?

I sometimes wonder if people are confused. Do they think a 'transwoman' is a woman who thinks she is a man? I had a conversation with DS a few weeks ago and devined this misapprehension in him. He got defensive, and said 'whatever they call themselves' but I suspect he really thought transwomen are TiFs.

Catiette · 06/12/2024 23:06

I think we may have disproved my original point rather!

Catiette · 06/12/2024 23:07

Ah, just seem Grammar's last post. Thank you for getting us back on track - my point still stands. 😮‍💨

Surveys have shown that up to a third of people think this.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 06/12/2024 23:16

It makes more sense, absent a belief in gender identity ideology.
