Here we go, once again BBC couldn't find 100 women... Ahrgh!
Come on! Do we all just look at these lists now and find the intruder?

I know I do! Everyone there’s a list of women I guarantee it’ll include at least 1 man

I mean look at this nonsense

Ecologist
As a transwoman biologist, Brigitte Baptiste explores the common patterns between biodiversity and gender identity.
She uses a queer lens to analyse landscapes and species in a bid to expand the notion of "nature" to better protect ecosystems. In her 2018 TEDx talk, she used the Quindío wax palm, Colombia’s national tree, as an example of an organism known to switch its gender from male to female across its lifetime.
A renowned academic, Baptiste spent 10 years as director of the Alexander von Humboldt Institute and currently serves as president of Universidad EAN in Bogota, a higher-education institution focused on sustainable entrepreneurship.
She has also campaigned for better funding to get more LGTBQ+ people into higher education.

I no longer want to hear anything about women from the BBC and their twisted world.

It has to be that they are searching for a man to include every year, and due to the numbers involved the bar to meet for inclusion as a woman must be much higher.

This week feels like the BBC lashing out: the tide IS changing, even if it's subtle like people feeling ok to eye roll at this ridiculous notion of TWAW,but BBC are ramming this down people's throats in an even more open way

I mean at least they didn't choose a man who punched women on international TV, so there is progress at least.

They know what a woman is. They’re the ones they massively under pay. The ones their suspended tv host, gregg Wallace, was gobbing off about only yesterday. The ones who have never come close to being director general. Come on BBC - we didn’t identify into this treatment. You know who we are.

The only reason I read top 100 women lists is to play spot the man.

Not only have they chosen a male but they've chosen one whose science sounds as suspect AF.

Pleased to see Gisele Pelicot on this list. Struck by how many are identified as LGBTQ+ champions. Is as though the BBC thinks 'women and other minority groups Top 100'.

My personal list would have JKR, Helen Joyce, FWS team, Amy Hamm, Riley Gaines, Reem Alsalem and Gisele on it. But my list would be 'women who are fighting for women's rights'. Maybe FWR needs it's own list?

A biologist no less! Surely that has to be part of the trolling too.

So predictable from the BBC. I see elsewhere they describe another woman in the list as a 'queer lesbian'. Eh?

Completely pointless having lists like this if anyone can be eligible and just makes the BBC look out of touch yet again.

I don't know why BBC bother. I sat there scrolling just to see how many men came up. Brigitte Baptist...shock.

Although, is there only one this year? I'm sure in previous years the XY percentage has been higher. Obviously the correct number of men on this list should be 0.

I also opened the list to play spot the man. Didn't have to go far, I think this chap was number five. Was too irritated to look further.
The blurb does seem to be demonstrate they are scraping the barrel. Palm tree gender FFS! Really no other women in the WORLD more worthy than this nonsense?!

So it's the BBCs Top 99 Women?

Could they not have one more, then a separate list for trans women?

Very many inspiring actual women on the list though.

Was it BirdyRose or a different initiative (women's history, feminist icons, 'well-behaved women rarely make history'?) altogether that had illustrations of Helen Joyce, Maya etc. on cards or Tshirts?

US artist/animator Nina Paley did a set of feminist playing cards. They are possibly still available to purchase if you are looking for Christmas gifts.

I am disappointed because I was hoping to start this thread today about how many biological men were on the list (one I believe this year).

Is there a corresponding BBC 100 Men of the Year with a transman or two on it?
