The quoted comments from the congresswoman are brilliant

First trans member lawmaker blasts GOP after bill blocks bathroom use

A trans war has broken out on Capitol Hill after a Republican lawmaker proposed a measure to block transgender women from using biological women's restrooms in the U.S. Capitol.

All women means all women.

In other words, you do include male people.
Why does male people's desire for validation trump women's rights to privacy, dignity and safety?

334bu · 20/11/2024 07:10

I consider trans rights to overlap with women's rights and fighting for one does not negate the other.

How does exposing young girls to male genitalia in their showers, changing rooms.etc achieve that?

nolongersurprised · 20/11/2024 07:15

So, now it’s known that genital inspections of children in sport have never happened, can you move on from “genital inspections”?

Hoardasurass · 20/11/2024 07:15

PinkChesnut · 20/11/2024 06:55

Untrue.

In 2011 alone over 4000 breast surgeries were done in the US on girls under the age of 18.

How many were done last year?
how many were like chloe Cole?
Also I said no REASONABLE dr would do so, considering the amount of malpractice claims amongst cosmetic surgeons in the US is anyone surprised that 13 years ago 4000 children were harmed by dodgy drs

Why did the anti-trans government put it in the law then?

Why is it even on the table?

It is absolutely vile and degrading to young girls, and yet not a peep from any of you.

Please quote the part of the act demanding genital inspections

And also move on from the myth that trans "rights " have" no impact " on women's rights to safety, privacy and dignity.

The bill that was passed actually only required a birth certificate. Not even a genetic profile or testosterone level.

Top work. Thanks, another link to save.

The funny thing is - there’s not! Birth certificate only.

I suppose if your only news sources are TRA sites, you get a skewed version of events.

Which includes underestimating how important single sex spaces are to women, feh actual kind

Hoardasurass · 20/11/2024 07:23

PinkChesnut · 20/11/2024 07:07

All women means all women.

That doesn't answer the question are you counting transwomen (aka men) in your "all women" statement.
Please could you answer clearly whether you are against single sex spaces or not because if you include transwomen then it's not a single sex space but mixed sex as noone can change their sex it's a physical impossibility

Ok PinkChestnut, we get it. You think that men who call themselves women should be allowed in women’s single sex spaces, sports and (presumably) services. So, you’re making lots of fringe arguments (Mace is a bad person, ‘cis’ 🙄 children will suffer if access to healthcare is evidence-based, republicans hate women etc)

So, why don’t you 1) acknowledge your actual position, 2) take on the argument not the person, 3) explain why men like the one threatening to kill Mace by smashing her head on the floor of the women’s bathroom is an appropriate person to be in that space?

I will never forgive their attempt to violate children.

The fact they had included it at all is vile.

Repeating a lie after it has been proven to be a lie is not someone posting in good faith.

  1. my actual position is irrelvant

  2. I have been nothing but solicitous, so I am not sure what you are talking about.

  3. I am against anyone making threats of violence or death against anyone else. Should she be able to use a public bathroom? That's up for a court to decide if she is charged with uttering threats. Personally I find the threats to be unacceptable.

I too, feel passionately about things that never happened.

334bu · 20/11/2024 07:40

What is vile is exposing women and girls to male genitalia in their spas, changing rooms etc . What is vile is forcing female prisoners to share cells with male rapists......
.

You have zero problem with that needing to be stripped out of the bill? That male legislators put it in there in the first place?

Strange.

334bu · 20/11/2024 07:41

You have zero problem forcing non consenting women to share intimate spaces with men.

It is not the law. That is what counts.
You are happy to countenance predators having easier access to those same girls, though.
Happy to enable male people to take sports scholarships and prizes from girls as well.

So once more, I am sceptical about your outrage and expressions of concern on behalf of girls.

  1. your personal position is already clear (fast-moving thread!)
  2. You spent a lot of time focusing on Mace as a bad person rather than her bill - hence my request that you take on the argument not the person
  3. the old ‘well let’s just let it happen, then the courts will clear it up afterwards’ point. If you allow men in women’s spaces, you can’t pick and choose which ones have access - they all do.

I am skeptical of your care of women and girls when you have no level of outrage about it even being considered.

The thread is about women in Congress being guaranteed single sex toilets. Which you oppose.
So not whataboutery.

PinkChesnut · 20/11/2024 07:40

Well, the original law didn’t have genital inspections 🙄 and birth certificate was also in there, so I think we can move on from children’s genitals. It’s very hard to get outraged about something that never happened.

But -.yes, I am supportive of protecting the female category in sports. some of my son’s sports require proof of age, in view of the massive advantage that male puberty brings.

In the interest of fairness and safety I agree with protected categories (age and sex) in children’s sport. Luckily, it seems like the female category will be protected again

Runor · 20/11/2024 07:52

The important thing here is Mace’s bill, and hopefully the signal that it sends that men will no longer be tolerated in women’s spaces, sports, services, providing intimate care and rape counselling etc.

I support women’s rights, both to abortion and to a definition of the word ‘woman’ which doesn’t include men.
