Do these idiots really think they are clever.

🚨Breaking🚨

Trans activists have just disrupted the annual Conference being held by LGB Alliance by releasing insects in the main hall.

These nasty individuals who seek to disrupt a peaceful conference of lesbian and gay people show themselves up to be the real bigots.

Out of interest, is there any evidence that there were (as mentioned in the Spectator article) cockroaches and mealworms? Or was it just crickets?

It's interesting to see those connections between different TRAs, but it's long been my view that there is a very small group of hardcore activists who have somehow managed to wield influence beyond their numbers.

I was outside the auditorium & had to go back in & retrieve my bag jacket & phone.

Fortunately I don’t seem to have brought back any souvenirs.

Jamie Reed the lesbian American Gender Climic whistleblower whose talk was disrupted (but not stopped) posted that there were cockroaches & mealworms.

I only saw crickets, but my stuff was far from the epicentre, & those things move fast. They were swarming into the ventilators on the wall.

Just think of how one could wow guests at a dinner party with this story!

I suspect that is a large part of it.

Families who are in fact quite well established and secure, and just want a little something to show they are "radical".

It was reported that one of the kids’ mothers took selfies outside the centre, while the attack was going on, & is a lecturer in criminology.

I can imagine two pet projects: My Trans (Stunning & Brave) Kid, & My Fascinating Criminology Study, Sarah Jane.

The thread that has now gone had an analysis of that 7% figure. It was an optional question that most people didn't answer. Of those who did, 7% said they were lesbians, 7% said they were gay men, some percentage - maybe 6% said they were bisexual. A large percentage said they preferred not to say.

A later more thorough survey which everyone had to fill out had a 20% heterosexual return and a lot of 'prefer not to say's but also far more than 7% LGB.

Helleofabore · 12/10/2024 08:11

This '7%' has been constantly misrepresented by a few posters who have been on these threads before. They know how this figure was derived. However, because they have their own very deeply entrenched prejudice about the LGB Alliance, they keep trying to misrepresent the demographics of the supporters of the LGB Alliance.

That says more about them than it does the LGB Alliance.

And those posters attempting to then try to twist 20% heterosexual supporters as being somehow worthy of discrediting LGB Alliance's work seem to then forget that if Stonewall could categorise all their supporters, all their donors, what % would this end up heterosexual? And this would have to include any person who purchased any product that then contributed to Stonewall, or any work place that took donations. It is a very weak argument to discredit a LGB charity.

But some posters still think that it is a convincing argument to discredit an LGB charity they disagree with. Well, they probably don't think it is really convincing, what they think is that someone will read it and think it reliable / relevant and will have a negative view of LGB Alliance. Which is ultimately their aim in spreading what is fuckwittery. That is misinformation due to the significant misrepresentation in light of the full context and accurate facts.

And sadly, it is some people spreading these types of misrepresentions and misinformation that cause activists to then try to disrupt the events held by LGB Alliance. It never seems to sink in though, that feminists don't try to disrupt events for transgender people. And feminists don't protest at conferences for transgender people to meet at.

Could it show something about the respect for others in general that transgender rights activists have? Could it show the assymetrical tolerance levels of different groups in society?

Edited

This explanation dean.

Criminalogy?

That's interesting in itself. So mum has an interest in the motivations of criminals.

I'm minded to reflect on a certain person with an interest in reforming the law to lead to less convictions of sex offenders.

Are these women more vulnerable to manipulation from actual criminals?

It's no wonder their children act like entitled brats.

I was on the same row as one of the drop points. The lights were dimmed as Jamie Reed’s session was about to start so I was slow to realise what I was seeing and couldn’t say with absolute certainty. But there was a pile of egg cartons swarming with what looked to me like cockroaches and a spreading heap of something brown and looked grainy around it, could well have been mealworms. I didn’t get closer to inspect. It wasn’t until we stood up and started to move that I realised how wide spread it was around the auditorium.

The few escapees I saw outside the auditorium were quickly squashed small brown crickets.

I was in a similar position. It was the unpleasant smell that the people around me first noticed. It also took me quite a while to work out what was going on in the dim lighting. I wonder if there could have been some kind of larvae in with the crickets for them to feed on?

IwantToRetire · 13/10/2024 20:23

Part of a facebook post where someone who went said:

If any of you wonder why it is still necessary let me tell you that homophobic young people got into the main hall and released bags of crickets forcing the auditorium to be evacuated, last session to be cancelled, food about to be given out had to be thrown away and poorly paid staff had the clean up operation to do. This is an act of terrorism. Make no mistake. And lesbians and gays are the prime target.

Have you reported that to the Met, @RunsWithDinosaurs?

If they got into the ventilators I’d guess the QE2 centre will have a hell of a cleaning job.

Thanks again, I posted on the Twitter page to one idiot, claiming that LGBA is a straight organisation. Isn't MN a great resource, where you can find a quick reference to this or that, to post elsewhere, to help people see what's going on?

I wondered that too, but that doesn’t seem to be a thing people feed crickets? I am no expert though, I have never needed to feed a cricket.

Faffertea · 13/10/2024 21:27

This is not just an attack on LGB people. It’s an attack on LGB people who have the audacity to advocate for their needs, separate to those of the TQs and not to capitulate to their demands.

Their failure to subordinate themselves and worse, to ask questions about the TQ is why they are being targeted. Just as it is with GC women or in fact anyone asking questions.

Dissidence will not be tolerated.
They have told you what to think.

Its Maria MacLachlan who posts as herself and as Peak Trans - both on twitter if you are.

Maria MacLachlan is a mother, a feminist, and a humanist celebrant. In September 2017, she was assaulted at Speaker’s Corner in London while waiting to attend a discussion on changes to the UK’s Gender Recognition Act, hosted by We Need to Talk. Her assailant, Tara Flik Wood, identifies as a transwoman and was recently convicted of Maria’s assault. At the trial, Maria was asked by the Judge to call Flik Wood by his preferred (female) pronouns. Julie Moss interviews Maria via email about her experiences with regard to and following the assault and trial.

And I think, but may be wrong, was part of a local women's group in SE London who objected to middle class students from Goldsmiths trying to take over their meetings and educate them about wrong speak.

I do find it baffling that a parent would let a teenager into Sarah Jane Baker's orbit and not freak out about it.

Because they’re enjoying burnishing their “right on” halo. Because they enjoy the attention it brings them, how others will look to them as a totem of Allyship and that they get to bask in the reflected glittery glory. Why not allow your child to break the law, consort with convicted abusers or even encourage them to transition if those are the pay offs?

Sazzasez · 13/10/2024 17:52

It was not revealed but claimed.

A claim that falls down the moment you check whether LGBAlliance is a membership organisation.

it isn’t.

If it was, this bi woman would have joined.

I was there, chatting to some brilliant lesbians & gay men…

Christinapple isn't worth replying to, in my book. Always full of fantasy facts.
Yours is a really good answer, though!

Ereshkigalangcleg · 14/10/2024 12:14

@Sazzasez I'm going to copy your post refuting the 7% claim onto the AIBU thread as the same is being claimed there. Hope that's ok.
