John Lewis 'allows trans women into bra-fitting rooms' as retailer hit by furious gender row

High street giant John Lewis is at the centre of a furious row amid claims its controversial trans policies put the safety of female staff and customers at risk, it can be revealed.

The retail group is facing claims its inclusive transgender policies – claimed to have been unilaterally imposed on staff – are "dangerous" and relegate women to "second class employees".

Lesley Pickup, who quit her job as a "selling partner" in John Lewis' Cheadle branch, allowed her resignation letter to be published on TV comedy writer and women's rights campaigner Graham Linehan's Substack platform, "The Glinner Update". In her letter, she insisted "female colleagues live in fear of dismissal if they speak out".

Ms Pickup said that for the past 20 years, she had been "involved with female victims from all faiths, cultures, ethnicities, and backgrounds who have been subjected to domestic and sexual violence and psychological abuse by men".

For some, she said, work offered "the only time in their lives where they should have guaranteed female-only safe spaces free from the demands of men regardless of who those men claim to be".

It feels like a big commitment for a man to pretend to be a woman to get a chance at a peek of a woman in John Lewis when regular men dressed as men are out raping women in broad daylight….still can’t understand why people get their knickers so twisted over this.

I suspect they are wanting to be their for a far more mundane reason.

The middle ground is, men who identify as women whose breast tissue has increased by taking female hormones can just order a load of bras of different sizes, try them on and see which fits best. No need to get a stranger in a shop to measure you! Or they could get a tape measure and ask one if their mates to measure them.
BTW, bras are manufactured to fit the female body, so males are always goi g to find them an odd fit.

We tend to arrest them, when/if apprehended, for indecent exposure. Such men can be put on the sex offenders register it becomes habitual.

Tell me you have no idea about the concept of safeguarding without saying you have no idea about safeguarding.

We have single sex spaces. They are predicated on sex.

No male people may ordinarily enter into female only spaces. They are for female people.

You surely understand why women and girls have such spaces in the first instance? Or maybe you are new to this forum? There are many multiples of threads which discuss and explain precisely why we have single sex exemptions and protections, if you are uncertain.

Do you suggest instead having everyone who wants to access a changing room first revealing their genitalia to the door staff to secure entry?
