An engineer friend of mine sent me this recently. He said it perfectly represented how he felt at work with the more...appearance based disciplines. I think it's relevant here.

I like to imagine JK is too busy learning French via Dualingo to tweet - so that in the unlikely event she is incarcerated in France she will be able to talk to fellow female inmates about trans prison policy and come out ready to relay their words to the whole world.

Absolutely moronic article repeats unsubstantiated claims that JK has deleted IK tweets whilst also imbedding obviously still live tweets in the body of the article.

(the random ‘deleted posts’ showing on social blade are probably just retweets that have had the OG tweet deleted or retweets from since deleted accounts, they could have been posted at any time in the history of JK’s account)

TRAs just endlessly abuse JKR on TwiX - it is absolutely foul; & should she respond, they shriek that she is bullying whoever she responded to. I do think if JKR never contributed to X again that I wouldn't blame her. She's been so pilloried and demonised for such spurious reasons that it surely must get to you, even if you're wealthy and successful (people turning up at her home, someone doxing a young woman erroneously saying it was her daughter and grandchild for example)
She's a remarkable woman but I also feel we have a responsibility to also not expect her to have to be the bearer of the 'gender critical' baton. I almost feel as though some people on X (both sides) are salivating waiting for her to post.
On the flip side, I've also seen India willoughby's recent posts and they seem to indicate weariness at the whole trans thing , although I think willoughby's posts are utterly hateful in the way in which women are criticised. I think it must dent your mental health if that's your sole reason for being on social media.
Social media is a vicious arena to fight in, I really hope JKR is having a wonderful holiday and just clearing her head for her next book, she's had an exhausting journey to get to this point.
We have a fairly safe space here, and I'm anonymous on X but recently spoke out about an issue on FB and lost a friend or two.

Its like the boundary between being and adult and being a child is being blurred.

I had a conversation at work about how young children are accessing grown up material and how its almost impossible to stop them, and even if you do everything you can, they are still going to be mixing with kids whos parents don't bother to monitor what they see. And how this is robbing children of their childhoods.
And then conversely you get fully grown adults living in on fantasy island.
I clicked on a link here to a redit trans thread on some nonsense and read these infantile posts and there was I thinking; well these are just kids afterall. And then it turns out the poster was a 34 year old man fgs!

But...also the absolute flat-earthery of politicians and celebs saying TWAW and no debate - they invariably have a kid dressing as the opposite sex.
