TWO “Female Boxers” Set To Compete At Paris 2024 Were Previously Disqualified From Women’s World Championship For Having “XY Chromosomes” | Mumsnet

Surely this cannot be true. In boxing of all sports. I thought boxing had told men they needed to compete with other men? *”Two athletes competing at...

There are lots of supporters of Khelif there.

The crowd are booing Hamori! 😳

Of course they are. She's only a woman after all.

Shows they know who the man is.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 03/08/2024 16:41

It's on iPlayer. Commentators emphasising that he is a woman <sigh>

Ereshkigalangcleg · 03/08/2024 16:41

the IOC's newly formed Boxing Unit are in charge of boxing at the Olympics. The Boxing Unit's eligibility criteria for women's events is having an F on your passport.

It's hardly surprising, as the IOC are captured and in favour of trans inclusion as well.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 03/08/2024 16:42

Apologies meant to quote @Snowypeaks

Motorina · 03/08/2024 16:42

I am sitting here incredulous that anyone can think Khelif is a woman, just looking at the screen. And then I am angry with the IOC, because this shouldn't be about looks. This should be about biological reality.

NeartoNewquay · 03/08/2024 16:42

It really is strangely and grotesquely hilarious that they are quite happy to say the opposite of what their eyes are telling them.

Everyone who is complicit in these lies are losing all credibility in my eyes.

protectourchildren · 03/08/2024 16:43

I'm sure the place will be full of MRAs getting jollies from the idea of witnessing ioc sanctioned VAWG.

Mmmnotsure · 03/08/2024 16:43

For those who can't bear to watch, @ItsAllGoingToBeFine 's link above at 16.33 above gives you text commentary from Oliver Brown at The Telegraph

This BBC commentary is making me feel like I'm in a dystopian parallel universe 🙁

Mollyollydolly · 03/08/2024 16:46

It's like the Hunger Games, it's dystopian

kiterunning · 03/08/2024 16:47

The commentator thinks it's quite simple what Hamori has to do to win. She just needs to work a bit harder. I am so fucking sick of this.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 03/08/2024 16:47

His reach really makes a difference. It looks like that thing where wee sister is trying to punch big brother, but big brother is holding them back with a hand and the sister just can't reach.

The same BBC who reported on worrying levels of VAWG.

George Orwell must be turning in his grave. Yes , this is life for women in 2024.

Btw Thomas Bach - when I use the word women, I refer to the biological definition that dictates XX chromosomes, just for you because I know you are struggling with this.

Mmmnotsure · 03/08/2024 16:48

And be actually male. That would help.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 03/08/2024 16:49

I'm just glad she wasn't hurt.

I've quoted it before, but I remember Riley Gaines talking about the moment when she experienced that.

Having xy chromosomes would help.

Seeing those punches in the face in slow motion makes me feel so ill.

They said that twice. Absolutely batshit.
Maybe men could work harder to get pregnant too? Save the woman always having the job of pregnancy and labour.

protectourchildren · 03/08/2024 16:52

The picture tells a different story to the commentary. Orwellian indeed.

Deny the evidence of your eyes and ears!

kiterunning · 03/08/2024 16:53

No contest. The inane comments are unbelievable.
